This video is a quick build (1 day) of the Airfix Supermarine Spitfire Mk5c in the colour scheme Central Railways Uruguayan staff presentation aircraftn No129 (Mysore) Squadron, Royal Airforce Ibsley, Hampshire, England, 31st May 1943.
Altogether the build & painting took 15 hours, I explain the paints used and step by step what I did.
The Spitfire mk5c fought the home defense role during WW2, above the deserts of North Africa and the jungles of the far east. Powered by Rolls Royce Merlin 45 engine this aircraft had the original Mk 1/2 airframe with a number of design improvements already developed for the proposed future mk3.

When I was a kid, 1:72 "cockpits" were a couple of bars across the interior on which the pilot figure was balanced. He was lucky if he had a seat. Much has changed!

One of my hobbies is watching model builds and searching for any cock ups made. I'm sorry to say you disappointed me with your perfect airbrushing, your dancing brush technique and not over the top weathering. This looks a great kit. Seems a lot of decals for a 72 scale kit, nice details. Airfix have really come a long way since I was a kid. Well done.

Thank you 👍 After recording and uploading the video, I noticed I had knocked the landing gear out of place a bit probably through handling the model. The landing gear should be slightly more inwards.

Enjoyed the vid but i think you have the undercarriage legs in the wrong way round. Probably because of the square holes?

Cheers 👍 After I finished recording I noticed the far part of each leg had been knocked out of place probably when I've been handling the model. Will admit laziness on my part using cement on painted parts rather than looking for my superglue 🙄 Appreciate the comment, thanks 👍

The decals for walkway demarcation lines on the upper surfaces of the wings should be applied first, they don't go over the roundels.

Nice result. Only the chassis looks a little strange. As if the wheels are coming adrift.

Cheers 👍 Yes after filming I noticed I'd knocked the 2 far ends of the legs out the holes, I think through handling the model. I corrected them afterwards but a little too late 🙄

Yes, through handling I must of knocked the landing gear out of the hole. I realised this after uploading the video, I need to be more careful in future
