Those small planes are out of MidWay Regional Airport which is about 6-7 miles away. Lots of older planes that sometimes re-enact dog fights which can be quite noisy. There is also Texas Soaring Association right next door to the camp but the gliders are only seen, no engine noise. We love having the Chosen project right here in our back yard! And welcome to new Texans, the Jenkins family!
@@runwillrobinson Catholics believe that Jesus is really present in the Eucharist. We don't believe it's just a symbol or a memory of Him. We believe it *is* Him. By wearing that shirt, Jonathan Roumie is making a statement about his faith in what we call the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. He's showing his passion for his Catholic faith and his love for Jesus. That's what I think is awesome.
I was watching The Chosen 2 bloopers the other day...where Jonathon says to the disciples " why aren't you filming." Then he says, "What am I saying"? He corrects himself and says, " Why aren't you FISHING." I laughed so hard...tears in my eyes. 🤣🤣
I’d like to see an interview with the messianic rabbi that is part of the writing team because I am very impressed by the accuracy of the overall political, religious, traditional codes of the time. I know that most Christians are not aware of those details that are pictures in this show and credit is due to this team and I believe this man has blessed a lot the whole team through Hebrew eyes. May you all be blessed and keep up the good work !
Have you seen the round table discussions on the app? It's under 'Extras' and then 'Deep Dive." They haven't released the discussions for Season 2 yet, but S1 is up
@@GiANTkiLLR Staci, I really appreciate your desire to stay true to Scripture. None of us should depart it. We need to seek God first above all else, and know His word! With The Chosen, I don't see it as adding to or taking from Scripture. They're telling a story to show the life changing power of Jesus. To me the artistic license doesn't go against Bible, but builds to those biblical moments to give us a glimpse of how powerful it was for those who lived it. And how powerful it is today for us to truly encounter Him.
I just want to thank you for giving us these additional views about this beautiful production. God Bless you all. Staff, cast, director, producer and everyone involved.
Wardrobe! I'd like to see you delve into that, how it was done ranging from research on fabrics, color, separate designs for genders, class, age, religious standing, followed by sewing dept, etc. It's a big subject and a big part of the production as well! TIA 😉
YES!! I would definitely LOVE to see that. Wardrobe is one of the most important things in a historical series, and I know very little about the fashions in our Lord's time. It would definitely be very informative!
I would love to see Shahar and Laura in an interview discussing the challenges in portraying Simon and Eden. On screen she really landed into Simon, with the tears and boldness. I loved that whole scene! They are both such stunning actors!
I pray for you guys all the time. I bless you for the good work everyone is doing on behalf of the Kingdom and our Adonai!!! The great cloud of witnesses here and in Heaven are cheering you on! From HIS storehouse comes ALL provision! I pray that you all succeed and prosper even as your souls prosper. I pray your land deals are successful, your homes are blessed, every bit of equipment is blessed, and every corner of your business is covered by God's hand. Rest and play!! In Jesus name XO - so be it!!
You know what they say about opinions.. Yet I think that the original line by Mother Mary is a much better line. It just makes it more personal some how. Thanks for all your hard work everyone!
Personally, I thought they were mourning Jesus, so that line clarified that scene for me. 😅 But I totally get that it sounds more personal the other way.
I was pretty proud of myself that I knew she was talking about James. I remembered that John's brother did die early in the ministry. But how cool they do that, keep tweaking, it's not set in stone. Jesus also had a brother, James, who became a leader in the ministry, also killed early on. Now I need to get out my Bible and look this up....
@@maripossalover I was disoriented at first and also thought she was speaking of Jesus. Took me a bit to get up to speed. And I agree "your brother" is more personal but "Big James" gets us out of not getting what's going on. You have to be familiar with the Book of Acts to know it was Big James who was the first apostle martyr. I am familiar with Acts but still didn't immediately recognize where we were on the timeline in the opening scene. The revised line is a definite marker on the timeline!
I agree. It would even sound much brilliant if she said " mourn your big brother James", I think. It is his big brother after all 🤔. But I still appreciate this effort from them to try and clarify which brother.
This was fun to see. As an actor I understand how difficult this can be to ADR. I'm glad to see they are replacing the word "Brother" for "Big James", that's a good move. Dallas you're amazing. I appreciate all you and your team do to make this show so great! 💕
I’m glad they’re making the clarification. “Brother” was a little confusing because the disciples were all brothers in Christ so I wasn’t exactly sure who they were referring to.
And it was very cool to be there and see how they make those type of clarifications. I got to watch Vanessa, who plays Mother Mary, record that new line and she got right back into that moment. Each take her voice matched the original scene and it was incredibly cool to see!
@@ChrisDurban that’s awesome, I’d love to be part of the show or at least witness something like that so thanks for providing us with these types of behind-the-scene details!
I love seeing behind the scenes. For some reason it hit me seeing the actress playing Mother Mary and understanding it takes 2 hours to do her makeup for the show. Wow !!! Amazing !! Love The Chosen !!
The LORD is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. In verdant pastures he gives me repose, beside still waters he leads me; he refreshes my soul. He guides me in right paths for his name’s sake. Even if I walk through a dark valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me with your rod and staff that comfort me. You set a table before me in the sight of my foes, you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Only goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD for years to come... Psalm 23 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
"Behold, my soul delighteth in the things of the Lord; and my heart pondereth continually upon the things which I have seen and heard. Nevertheless, notwithstanding the great goodness of the Lord, in showing me his great and marvelous works, my heart exclaimeth: O wretched man that I am! Yea, my heart sorroweth because of my flesh; my soul grieveth because of mine iniquities."
Hi Cris and Kris! Your videos here are awesome! As a huge fan of The Chosen, it's interesting to be taken to the process and aspects of creating this incredible show. I've been hoping and seriously on the look out for an interview or sit down with the show's great cinematographer Akis Konstatakopoulos. Coz one of the major things, aside from the impeccable writing, cast, music and prod design; I honestly believe what makes this project unique is it's visual language. So maybe a sit down with Akis as he explains his creative process and does a commentary on his top 10 fave scenes he had shot in Seasons 1 and 2. Thank you so much! Keep up the great work and God Bless you both! ☺️❤️🙏
I would have kept the line about mourning your brother. It becomes clear quickly to people who have read their Bibles, and, it is clearly clear to those of us binging it!
I think the purpose isn't to reach the folks who are avid Bible students, although clearly it impacts us. But I pray that it ministers to new believers & unbelievers. So clarification is justified. Although, the original line is more expressive of the intimacy of the relationship.
@@jewelssylva3738 My point was that the show is so good it was unnecessary. Especially when you have all the seasons on CD on your shelf cause it's so good.
My 8 yo said, ”You know how when someone special dies and three airplanes fly over them? Maybe airplanes were flying over for when Jesus died because he was important.” 🤣 Out of the mouth of babes!! 🤣
Really enjoyed the series. So good, the visuals always help. Love the Peace and Joy you show of Jesus. I believe you even made Jesus laugh at some of the stuff. In a good way. ALL involved are in my Prayers. Thank you!
3:42 I'm glad they're putting in "mourn Big James" b/c at first, I thought that they were actually mourning Jesus as they were all very emotional when speaking about how/where they first encountered Him.
Chris thanks so much, for your calm intelligent presence.... What would i like to see Chris and Kris do? I would be interested to hear testimonies snippets from the cast and crew about times when they have felt God working in the show, around them, or how working on the show has built up their faith/ relationship with God. Bless you all.
Yay!! More behind the scenes!!! I would love to see how they age Mother Mary. Some "a day in the life of ____" videos would be cool. Maybe with one of the actors or maybe a lighting person or someone in production and we can see a time lapse of their day.
wow. the art and skill of the occupation of acting is really an exacting professional ability! Thank you for sharing this. and thank you for the caring attention to all the seemingly miniscule (yet so very impactful) details! 🙏🌟🕊
Thank you for watching! Acting and putting this stuff together really is very meticulous, and it takes a tremendous amount of talent all around to bring every piece together!
They should just have made a text below on screen in the very beginning that say what year it was in to make it clear for the viewer that it took place after Jesus anscension.
That was fun to see. You know what else might be fun? Watch bits of the bloopers reel with the actors involved. See if they'll spill on how specific goofs came about!
Please consider adding DVS (descriptive video service) to this series. It would open it up to a whole new group of people (those with visual impairments).
Viewers are unaware James is John's brother by Season 2? (i.e. "You need to mourn your brother?") A little odd that Mary would refer to him as "Big" James to his brother, John, and not simply by his name, especially when THEY clearly are aware 'which' James was martyred. Sometimes spoon-feeding 'obvious' dialogue content to the audience can be a bit non-sensical.
I see your point, but I also think many things are not obvious to those just begining to look at scripture for the first time ever... In that perspective it iS very helpful to "spoon feed". as scripture describes, we start with milk, we progress to more mature substance. I think "Big James" works too, on a "how people are in real life" , relatable way. Families and friends often refer to individuals by identifiable nicknames. 🙏
@Pat Lance a small point of preference. God uses it all to His Will and to His Glory. I am not offended at simple or complex or straightforward presentation of the Gospel. sometimes it is over my head, and I am grateful to have it reiterated or clarified. I imagine others are appreciative too. you are entitled to your preference as well. The focus is on God's Word being shared out. 🙏
@Pat Lance Pat, without the subtitles in live streams, I miss a ton of dialogue and I didn't even know at first that they were mourning "Big" James. I actually thought that they were mourning Jesus right after His death b/c they were pretty emotional talking about meeting Him for the 1st time. While I am familiar w/ the Bible and am aware that James the son of Zebedee was martyred by Herod, I wasn't aware until several days later that this was a shiva for him.
I hope this blesses some... 🙏 I was 5 years of chronic illness! I was Semi Housebound, lost my health, job, finances and my fiance left me. I couldn't even look at electronic screen for 5 minutes, or hold a 10-minute conversation. But God did an amazing work. I now have a Christian Channel where I encourage people and show them what God did in my life and that there is hope for you also. ✝️🔥😊 *Keep believing even when it's hard* 🙏❤️🔥 *All things are possible with God*
This was an interesting behind the scenes, but agree with other viewers, no need to change mother Mary's lines. Maybe should have just put scripture reference Acts 12:2, in captions when she read that line. None the less love love The Chosen.
I totally get that, but I also understand where they are coming from. Dallas and crew want this show accessible to everyone, to the one who knows their Bible forwards and backwards, and to the one who is being introduced to Jesus for the first time.
@@ChrisDurban you are right...I know they are very intentional....I was going to edit my text and say"then again what do I know, I never directed a record breaking crowd funded, award winning, 1million subsriber tv show...", but I had to go to work and ran out of time😇
I have “binged” Jesus nonstop and noticed the change from brother to Big James before this update came out. I love this series!! My question is this…. Every time Jesus touches someone’s shoulder, they look down at His hand…. I am hopeful that the reasoning behind it will be revealed.
Its so neat to see J. R. work on the lines in ADR, because when I watch the chosen he so embodies Christ that I don't think about him "acting". I really think of the person of J.R. and Christ in the scenes he portrays in the show as two totally different people, and so to see him sort of work on the lines, and in modern day clothing, is a neat priviledge. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this. I love seeing behind-the-scenes stuff. It helps me feel more like an insider. I also love that for Season 2, The Chosen released episodes right away even if there were still small things that needed correcting. We fans get to be the test audience in a way. As far as changing the line in 201, I understood it when it was "your brother" but I can see how confusing it could be to others. But "Big James" sounds unnatural, even though that is what the group called him. I think, "your brother James" would have been a better alternative. It still distinguishes which James it is, but acknowledges the brother relationship. However, I don't expect The Chosen to alter this on my recommendation!
but it might have been confusing for people who are not so familiar with the Bible. Many viewers, even after that line, thought that she was referring to Jesus' death because he was a brother to all of them.
Excellent work Chris and Kris! So educational. I vote "good call" on changing Mother Mary's line in S2E1. Looking forward to your next vid. Kris, did someone enjoy their LA makeover style?😍
I personally would like to see Chris and Kris meet with Matthew Nelson and Dan Haseltine, the people who did the music of The Chosen. Primarily because I'm curious about what instrument set they use and how they capture the mood of the show so perfectly, but also to know how they came up with "Trouble" which is such a bop.
While I knew the time period John & Mary are discussing in the scene; Only because I knew John wrote his gospel later in his life ministry. People who don't know Bible history or who don't pic up subtle cues that it is his Gospel he is writing... I remember thinking when I first watched, it wasn't clear where in the timeline the scene was set. Many people could be confused.
I LOOOOVE the work you're all doing! Can't wait to watch season 3! You are bringing Our Lord & Savior so much closer to us! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
We would like some of the behind the scenes for the food that appears on the show. Maybe one day release a cookbook for the food would be something for y'all to consider. We would buy a couple of them.
So interesting! Thanks for showing this. And it's true, "your brother" was a bit confusing in the midst of trying to figure out where we were, what was going on, all characters are older and ... huh???? .... disorienting at first. I watched the episode twice so the beginning would 100% make sense to me after not quite getting it the first time through.
Dallas, (or anyone that can help) please take a moment to answer my question. Do yall plan to have any high quality prints made up for purchase? As another way to help pay for this series, I personally would LOVE many key scenes from the show. This cast is so perfect imo and prints of various sizes seems PERFECT as another avenue! PLEASE DO CONSIDER THIS, CANT WAIT TO POTENTIALLY BUY SOME PRINTS IN THE FUTURE! God bless and take care yall!!!!
So glad they are still making improvements to the show! Hopefully they will clarify a few other things, as well (especially the part where Raima checks in on Mary off-screen)
Not to diminish any of the work that the cast & crew have done individually in the past or imply that your future work won't be great and worthwhile, but I believe that what each of you is doing in The Chosen is the most important thing you'll ever do in your profession. Thank you so much!
My family will know all the lines just because I replay both seasons almost daily. I don't like what we are given to watch. Haven't for a long time either. Having the digital version is nice because I can just play each episode over & over. So as I sit & do embroidery or crochet I cast the series all day long. I do not get tired of it either. So few shows leave you wanting more. This does; more more more! ❤️❤️💥🙏🏻🙏🏻💥
@@tracywick7632 I know, right! I put captions on and cough even more. Also I did like that little change of "mourning Big James" as I had totally missed the previous version.
If I was a millionaire/ billion...I feel I would love to fully " Pay it Forward" Or Silence "Dallas" ( No Offense 😜) Dallas: You & your crew are doing phenomenal work & I'm sure that there is more involved then perceived .Also looked odd w/ the colder than normal Texas conditions. ( As mentioned in previous vlog/ blog. God Bless🙏 Doug Clark

Then your peace would become just like a river And your righteousness like the waves of the sea. 19 Your offspring* would be as many as the sand And your descendants as its grains. I couldn’t be happier with you too out there doing all this awesome Chosen stuff you guys are rocking it big time. Thank you for what you do, I might just be your biggest fan!
Thats him. . . yup, the Irish accent did to me when I Saw Him asking Peter if he could talk from him boat. . . Main thing, it was the OH YEAH NO thing he did when Peter didn't believe anything was going to happen lol. . . That is EXACTLY How I would. . .
In that scene when John was recording the experiences of the other disciples, I didn’t know it was big James being mourned until I listened to Grafted ( a RU-vid review channel of the Chosen). I thought it was some kind of sneak peek to Jesus’s crucifixion. 🤫
