This review has sent me out to buy a pair now. I’ve been wanting them for a little bit but never seen such a thorough review before of them. I particularly like the ability to change the cups. I’ve been using Bose headphones and after years of use, the soft leather has worn away from skin acids and perfumes. Now they are absolutely wrecked. So that feature is important to me. Thank you for taking the time to review them so thoroughly.

Thank you for the HD-650 comparison because those are my beloved headphones. I heard the HomePods in the Apple Store. I didn't like their sound. Your early review is the best I've seen. I would like to know how the noise cancellation compares to the Bose 700 and how good they are having a phone conversation in a very loud environment. Not just the person with the headphones on but the person on the other end of the conversation. The Bose 700 are amazing in this area. I can use the Bose for hearing protection at work and have a conversation over the phone with the other party being able to understand me and not hear the noise. This is something not possible with my AirPod Pro’s.

They really can’t because in order to do so, they would have to guarantee you put your apple TV in the center of your TV screen. I suppose it could work if you velcroed it to the back of your tv. I would like to see a ‘fixed’ mode that anchors the sound to the point you were facing when you turned it on... that would solve the problem with just a software update.

It doesn't have to be to the inch perfect, it could ask where its' placed in relation to the TV, it could use ARkit and a U1 in the new ATV to show it where the difference is. Besides, if you're a few inches to the left or right, you're still going to want it assuming you're dead center looking at your TV anyways.

Best fair and most honest review I’ve seen yet on the product, Z. I hate the ugly case but 3rd party dev’s can solve that. Also hate that the headphones don’t fold for travel ease..If you could, please test their comfort level by wearing the headphones for at least an hour or more continuously. Let us know your opinion. Still on the fence about purchase but leaning toward the negative.🤙🤙🤙

When you initially take these out of the box it runs you through this “turn your head left then right” scenario. Is it possible to redo that? I have two pairs my first pair I did it and they fit better and the sound is better. My second pair didn’t run that set up and they feel loose and they don’t function as well when it comes to switching between devices and detecting me.

AirPods Max looks good and premium(with a weirdest case I’ve ever seen before) but that doesn’t justify the price especially comparing to other over the ear headphones companies like Sony and Bose with advanced technologies and with an affordable price tag in this segment. Also, I couldn’t help but wonder on the new features apple’s got on its sleeve for the next generation AirPods Pro Max or Max Pro and its price tag. For what it’s worth, going to stick with my Bose QC35 II for now and wait for next year.....

I have the Sennheizer 660s with a klipsch heretage headphone amp that I use for critical listening(ie: DSD256). But I often still find myself using the airpods pro, simply because of ease of use, acceptable sound, ANY movie, and ability to get up and do stuff without taking them off. I always have my watch, phone, ipad pro, and macbook pro within an arm’s length because I use them all for various things... so the ability of airpods pro to auto-switch is a very big deal to me. The only thing I have ever disliked about airpods pro is that you have to stuff them into your ears... as a person with allergies and therefore earwax problems, this is at best non ideal and at worst, painful. Now, with the max, I get the best of everything with no drawbacks. Truly, there are better sounding cans for the price, but nothing else exists, at any price, with this feature set AND acceptable audio quality. It is a no-brainer for me... I ordered the silver ones and am anxious to get them. (MARCH!!)

Thoughts on pairing airpods with different apple devices..... Sometimes I use my airpods pro to watch a soccer game on my ipad. When I pick up my iPhone to look at twitter (for example) the airpods then switch pairing from ipad to iphone. This action then pauses the video stream on the ipad. In fact I now disable the Bluetooth setting on iphone to prevent the switching action. Anyone have any similar things happen?

I hope this is not too far off subject but when listening to lossless CDs that you’ve imported in the iTunes or anything in your library for that matter how can you equalize the volume so some tracks aren’t extremely loud versus some that are too soft. Can you do that say to a like it beats pill or AirPods Pro without using the limiter and can you use the limiter on the beats pill Pro?

You should try listening with a lightening aux cable to see if it sounds better or to remove any lag in the audio.

See I would buy the second generation AirPods Max (in hopes the price lowers) since it’ll probably have the touch pad. But, if the head pressure really is less with these headphones, then I might consider buying them for that reason. That’s the only issue I have with the XM4s.
