Thank you, finally someone who gets it. Lou is one of the few people I've seen who truly appreciates the importance of spatial audio. So many others just gloss over it. It is seriously a killer feature and as long as the audio quality, noise cancelling etc. is at least as good or close to bring as good as the Sony and Bose, then this feature makes the extra cost worth it in my opinion.

Spatial audio is pretty incredible the whole sound becomes a lot more rounded and fuller it’s pretty amazing it does feel like you are put inside a sound treated room with speakers all around you.

I don't get why the rants, you can get TWO headphones for the price of a useless stand. That price is a bargain.

Well as of today 5/30/2021 i finally made the purchase to get the Air Pod Max. These will be my listening phones while traveling, or going to my parents house, or when its extremely late at night and listening to my hi fi stereo set up is not feasible during late nights. I had the air pod pros that I was pretty happy with but my sister needed a pair of headphones and I gave her mine...she needed the the small ear inserts so it was good for her. With that being said i was really researching on which new ones to get. I think what sold me on the the airpods max is that I did enjoy the airpod pros(one negative is I could not listen to then for a long time because they hurt my ears), I had the sony Sony WH-1000XM4 but was getting tired of Sony's sound signature and got ride of them. So far after about 2 hours of listening to the Max's I have been pleasantly surprised and have definitely met my expectations...I will be trying these on the airplane soon in a few days! I do agree that I think these should have been priced at about 399, but whatever! The noise cancellation on these are amazing, I definitely think they are better than the sony's.

might as well go with the bose qc 35 ii's you can manually turn them off, their ear padding is softer and their noise cancelling is better. also they fold in a way thats a little more compact than apple, here at the end of the day in still using my airpods pro for convenience

My 2 cents with the cable. It could be because the existing cables, and possibly the apple ones, only work 1 way. That is Lightning output to 3.5 input and not 3.5mm output to Lightning input as the headphones would require.
