Just got the 2nd gen pros.. there is no difference in sound.. the noise cancellation is definitely better..but I assure u there no difference in max output or Bass compared to the old gen.. the sound signature may be slightly different .. additional benefits - better battery for sure and slightly better transparency mode.

I can aggree with you. Did a blind test, just having both on the table and switching between them, not even looking at them. At a point I though I had the new ones in ear, turned out were the old ones. Better battery, maybe. But I guess it depends on how you use them, I don't use them more than 2 hours without having them back in the case again. For me they don't seem to be worth the upgrade.

i got them and the audio has improved a lot - especially the fullness of the bass. having the buds properly in your hears has a big effect on the audio quality and/or fullness of the bass & all the audiophiles reviewing the airpods pro 2. gen also noticed noticeable improvement in audio quality

The biggest difference I can see is being able to adjust volume from the earbud itself. When my Pro mk1 expire, would get these.

Why is absolutely no one talking about the advantage of not having a the grill next to the skin sensor? I switched from gen 1 to 2 and I’m so glad to not clean the grill for gunk every time I take them off

What about the vents getting dirty and screwing up transparency, and noise canceling? That was a huge problem with the AirPod pros before and you should have covered it.

The main thing I want to know is does the 2nd have a better Bluetooth range than the 1st? I find the range on my 1st starts cutting out when I go in to different rooms, but the range on my Beats Solo pros are much better and doesn’t cut out in when I got into those same rooms. I am hoping the range on the 2nd are better…. Does anyone know?! This should be one of the main considerations, but I don’t even see any reviews mentioning Bluetooth ranges

Yeah the 2nd gen are 5.3 and first gen are 5.0 so I’m guessing that they are better? Idk about range I just know that 2nd has 5.3

Concerning range how far does your beets go? I like leaving my room to the kitcheb to wash dishes and listen to homework... and which one has better connection over the phone i noticed some people can barely hear when they have the headphones on talking i cant head them

I have the 1st gen I had got on launch day and they were great imo then about 3 years ago they stopped working. Well 1 of them did. It wont turn on or charge And I never used them much. Then today I was in Best Buy picking up a game for my ps5 and happened to walk by the Apple table and seen they had them on sale for Memorial Day weekend for 180 so I grabbed them without hesitation and only difference I see so far (with only owning for a few hours) is the case and the features and on my 1st gen I just had to push the button once to cycle thru the anc modes and with the 2nd gen I have to hold down on the button to change it.

It was the volume swip that confused me -All day I could not understand why I could not controll the volume on the stem. I have the " Frist Gen. Though Im no going to spend another 2 bones to upgrade. At least now I understand that on the frist Gen. there is on volume control on the stem. Kill half a day. Thanks for the help.!!!!

I doubt AirPods are as protective as some suggest-such that they’d protect hearing at a concert-I mean they’re not ear PLUGS. They can help, but I don’t know about some claims….

Confused - my original Airpod Pro (i.e. gen 1) DO support that super accurate geolocation function... I noticed you said the CASE supports that, perhaps that's the upgrade - i.e. the original earbuds supported it but not the case, and in Gen 2, both earbuds and case support it?

I’ve noticed the Pro 2’s die extremely quick. Case drops to half in a day with maybe 4-5hrs of use and the buds fully charging back up. I didn’t have to charge my gen 3’s for almost two weeks and be fine. I’m thinking it’s cause of the U1 chip updating the location every 10-15 minutes. Regardless the minum upgrades wasn’t worth me having to charge my case each night so it didn’t die the next day. I returned them.

@@Johnnyiswhere how I charge them wouldn’t matter. But I think the buds were defective. I exchanged them and the battery lasts around the same as my airpod Gen. 3

Is battery on the case a lot better I have 1st pros and battery is good it’s just that I dropped my left earbud and the speaker that faces out is a little dent and has dents on it. I would give my old pair to my brother because he still uses the AirPod 1 that I got him 2 years ago.

I have had no issues with my 1st gen's. So I don't see why there would be an issue with the new ones. I guess it depends on what kind of workout. I do strength training and some running.

I know it's an OCD thing, but for $200 and up for some sound you can get for half the price and less from other brands you should get perfection in their case and not to mention the pods halves themselves being glued together unevenly. It was no problem with Air-buds pro 1. Every time I'm watching RU-vid or Netflix they disconnecting -unpairing when I chance the channel.
