Just getting into airsoft, seirously im just buying a couple 100 bio bbs, a gas pistol, and maybe a couple of replacment cartridges if i need them, and a mask. Thats it. I don't think i beginner needs a full on chest rig, like seriously, are you going to buy a chest rig, then i would say over 100 dollars on mags to fill that (from what ive seen, mags are expansive, like for my starting pistol, it was 15$ a mag, which i think is pretty ridiculous). And all i really need is a pistol. I know a good cqb place nearby, and i think im going to have some fun.
I think everyone forgets the goal of airsoft. All this gear and sweet guns, that's not the point. It's cool to have those, but the point is to hit the other person with a tiny piece of plastic.
For a first game... I'd say just a gun, BB's, battery, eye pro and a high cap... THAT'S IT don't bother buying all the gear because you don't know if you'll like it.
Im not an airsoft player but: Do they give you dashcams? I see a lotta people using them in vídeos (not only the recording person), like an anti cheater tool to prove they hit someone.
Jovelina Coelho noooooooo, they don’t be handing out expensive cameras like that, you’ve gotta buy your own. At me field (Airsoft Revolution 15) there are two guys that look over the arena. It’s a small field so cheating is hard on it if you try.
+pikanoob if you actually listen to the video... most of these items are suggestions, meaning you dont have to buy them. i started airsoft with a $150 gun $70 worth of helmet goggle and lower face a $20 vest and some bb's and i was good to go all around $300.
When you spend so much money on airsofting is just becomes boring.....that's why my friend quit.....but I want to get into it It's hard when you're '6.7 280lbs Hard to find anything....I guess I came to ask if a chest rig was any good....
Gents, this is a LOT more Gotham what you NEED to start airsofting. Here’s the stuff I started with: 1. AEG - I put a lot of money into my first AEG, way too much in hindsight. I’d recommend an Elite Force or G&G M4 starter kit. They run for about $150, and come with all the necessary parts for your gun to work. They always include at least a battery or two, usually a hi-cap magazine, and a smart charger, which alone costs about $40 bucks, so you’re already saving. 2. Either 1 more hi-cap magazine (Stamped Metal ones are usually cheapest for M4’s) or 2 mid-range mid-caps (go with a polymer mid-cap, they’re easier to come by, they’re cheaper, and parts are much easier to find, in the rare event your magazine fails completely). It also doesn’t hurt to buy another spare pack of springs for your magazine, just in case. 3. Face protection. I started with a cheap pair of sealed goggles and a mesh lower mask, but I would recommend a new player these two pieces, both can be found on Amazon. A one-Tigris foldable lower face mask, and a pair of Pyramex I-Force Sporty goggles. They fit my face perfectly, and there is little to no gap after some light adjustment. For reference, my ancestry is French as well, and it even fits over my big ass nose. As for some other gear that you can re-purpose things from around your house that can save you some money: 4. Any kind of dark clothing, but also somewhat bulky and light-weight. What I mean by this is a pair of old jeans, a t-shirt, and an old sweatshirt. Even better if you go hiking regularly and have some quick-dry pants. They work just as good for airsoft, just make sure they can withstand a lot of abuse, or are an old pair you don’t really care about to begin with. 5. Any kind of satchel, or bag. I started out with an army navigator’s pouch, or “Fag Bag” for those of you who were in the infantry. They have two pockets so I used one for full mags, the other for empty ones. It also has spots for pens and other supplies as need be. 6. Old boots or shoes. Boots are preferable if you’re outdoors, also indoors for the most part, but some old sneakers should do for your first game or two. Just watch your footing if you don’t have much ankle support. 7. Gardening or work gloves. I was fortunate enough to already own a pair of Mechanics gloves, so those are what I’ve used forever, and I love them. But you will need gloves. Getting shot in the finger absolutely sucks. It’s worse than anywhere else I’ve been shot. And I’ve been shot in the tip of my dick through thin pants. Any gloves will do. Just don’t wear anything too bulky that you won’t be able to be comfortable when handling your weapon. 8. A hat. I’ve always worn one of my grandpa’s old Boonie hats from ‘Nam. They’re absolutely perfect for where I’m at (North Carolina). You can get them in just about every pattern and size, and the brim is actually really effective at deflecting shots from your eyes and ears. 9. A bright rag. Preferably red to be used as a dead rag. All in all, the combined total here for the stuff I didn’t have was about $250 usd, which is about $200 bucks less than what they’re saying you need in this video. Starting airsoft is more about being resourceful than anything. I’ve met guys who have a total of $300 bucks into their load out, and wreck ass on the field because they spent their cash on the basics, and spent less time working, and more time playing. Get out there and play some airsoft, boys! Another tip: ARMY NAVY STORES ARE YOUR HOLY LAND. I bought a pair of old BDU’s for a total of $5 bucks for a top and pant pair. Stocked up on them as well, because 5 bucks is a steal for any bdu set
I dont feel like this is an good beginner guide. When your an beginner you dont even know if you want to keep playing airsoft so i dont Think you should spent so much money on something you May not keep playing. I am not saying this is an bad video i am just giving my opinion on what information i Think should be given to a new player. Maybe talk about your first gun and what you Can expect on the first time on the feild.
Not all airsoft guns have mags. Some take clips. (98k) Remember, upgrade guns from the inside out. Don't buy stuff that you don't need or just to look cool. Be safe.
thepurespartanify Not really, Airsoft is a fashion show, and I think I can do just as well with a mediocre gun with a lot of faff on it as I could with an internally upgraded gun. It's not a competition so there's no real reason to upgrade your gun to the max. My friend has so much useless shit on his kit and has put more money into an EoTech and other shit for his gun than he has upgrading it, but he has fun doing it. And that's really all Airsoft is about.
projectcalamity I will agree, much of it is a fashion show. Though, some people have fun not only from just playing but from winning as well and that's just people that a competitive mindset like myself. Having a gun that can compliment your skill set will make you all that much better, given, one can't perfom as well with a gun they've never used. A bad player will remain a bad player given both a good and bad gun. The good players will perform like an average player, given a bad gun but a great player with a good gun. Having quality gear is great. Just like how driving a Honda Accord fast is fun, but isn't it even more fun to drive fast in a Lamborghini huracan?
+Nitrojet6 yeah, i'm pretty sure all you need is like a gun eye protection... some extra ammo and maybe something to protect your chest and back after that your good to go :P
when i was a beginner i would go off and wander away from my team and when i found them i would waste my entire clip on them and end up having to leave because they kicked me out. Yep those were the days
What you really need to start: A decent gun, good bb's, just 2 batteries, approved eye pro, a USED BDU from a thrift shop, and a few USED mags. Who this tutorial is for: 21 year olds with a decent job, or 18 and under kids who have parents with cash.
Here’s an actual beginner guide on what to purchase: -A good gun (research good beginner guns before you buy one, and do NOT buy a Lancer Tactical) -A battery or two to power your AEG -An extra magazine or two to make sure you don’t run out of ammo while in a game -BBs to refill your mags (duh) -Good quality face protection (do NOT cheap out on this, good face protection is everything) -Gloves or boots if you feel like you need them, although I highly recommend both. I have a friend who has a permanent scar on from taking a BB to the finger -Appropriate clothing, wearing a t-shirt and shorts to your first game is a bad idea. Wear something like sweatpants and a hoodie in the winter or jeans and a long-sleeve shirt in the summer
Name: Iroh Legoman Hey Evike, I am a relatively new player, and don't play all that often (4 games in 5 months) and I have a belt setup. I was wondering you you could do a video on belts and possible belt setups. I mainly see chest and plate carriers. I would like some ideas of bettering my belt (3 canteens, 1 small- first aid bag, one medium, one large, and a Nerf Drop leg holster)
true begginners guide 1- eye protection 2- airsoft gun (primary only, no need for secundary) and BBs 3- face protector (optional in some places) 4 -nothing else, you can literaly put mags in your jean pocket for all I care of course you can always add something but I think you should try it out first see what you think was missing, what you needed. I believe these are the true basics, for real thats what I took for my first game, got some tips from the people there and whenI knew the sport was for me bought more, these kinds of videos just make airsoft seem like milionare's nerf
Yeah it is kinda funny. I've always had an interest in guns and how they work, so I started making Lego guns when I was younger, and then it branched out into airsoft, which I highly enjoy.
Hannibal Smith IMO legos are useless unless everyone is barefoot, because if everyone is barefoot, and you have legos, what use is there for claymores and s-thunder mines?
Yeah instead of telling them they should use a helmet, use a baseball cap or a bandana. The only thing a helmet is good for is protection from hitting your head if you slip or fall
But.... It takes a wind up magazine. You mean a high cap? It has a small wheel under it that you wind and bbs will be ready to shoot. Most AEGs have them.
Yes, and you also need a trained SWAT team, 4 extra bulletproof vests (in case one breaks of course), a couple of military tanks for your friends, and a riot shield. Lol no hate to Evike I just think this is a little too prepared for beginners
The best score streak is the UAV it reveals all enemies on the map, the best camping spot is on the top of blue house out of the window right outside the two busses
All you really need is eye pro, a like 200$ gun a m4 usually, if you don’t like pain then have a sweater, and some cargo pants, and boom, you can also just rent if you can, and be sure to have water
all u really need is a gun ($150 for a decent one) face mask/eye protection and bbs, and if u don't want to buy a gun u can rent one at the field for $30 with 1 mag and unlimited bbs so not that expensive unless u r really serious about it. where as paint ball guns can cost allot. My friend had bought a starting paintball Gun for $250, in airsoft that would be a higher end gun.
Nearly 400,000 subscribers. Crikey. That would be a cool number to habe in Australia as a lobby group. Even if airsoft in Australia was capped at 400fps, that would be just fine.
Not BDUs though, but ACUs. BDUs or Battle Dress Uniforms are the cut employed by all branches of the U.S military from 1981 ('77 for the marines) to ~2004. Battle Dress Uniforms were in the M81 Woodland Camouflage Pattern, a refinement of the ERDL (Engineer Research and Development Laboratories). The cut style of BDUs are derived from the third pattern OG-107. On the other hand, the ACU is a brand new style of cut (well, brand new in 2004) initially using the UCP (Universal Camouflage Pattern) but now using OCP, which you correctly stated as a camouflage pattern. TL;DR, not all fatigues, including fatigues in OCP, ACU, MarPat, et cetera, are BDUs as they use their own cut styles.
*sigh* here comes the armchair quartermasters........ ok so, BDU's, or Battle Dress Uniforms, is the specific style of cut employed by the U.S military in both the Vietnam Jungle fatigues type III and the standard uniform for all U.S armed forces from 1981-2004 (give or take 2 years). ONLY the uniforms called BDU (in M81 Woodland), DBDU (in six color desert camouflage), Jungle Fatigues Type III (in OD Green) and DCU's (in three color desert camouflage) are in this style of cut. Now, the current combat fatigues employed by the U.S Army in OCP/Multicam employ is called ACU, or Army Combat Uniform. Recognize the name? That is because this style of cut was adopted in 2004/2005 in the well known/hated UCP or Universal Camouflage Pattern.
the video isnt accurate, the only things you need is a gun, maybe an extra mag, bbs and gas if your gun needs it. gun is about 150$ for a decent one. magazine costs about 10-20$. bbs are about 20$ for 5000 0.20g bbs. gas kinda depends.
U can buy a 120 aeg dollar gun (if ur broke 50 dollar gas nbb will do it), goggles for 10 bucks, mag for 10 dollars and a mask for 7 dollars bc getting shot in the mouth hurts, gas or battery (like 10 dollars), BBs (like 5 to 10 dollars) under 170 or 100 bux
Alright, just to cutdown on Matt's speech: Unless you're looking to play a Milsim game (which will cost a pretty penny), if you just want to play a pickup game and aren't sure if you'll stick to airsoft, just go to your local field in a pair of decent clothes and footwear, bring snacks and water and just rent gear. Most fields here in America rent player packages for prices in between $20 to $50. Just make sure to dress for the expected weather and in decent shoes if you plan on playing outdoors.
you actually can not eat on the field at my field if you are a minor, you are required to keep the lower mask on (but I have a water tube go through the gap since there is a gap in the lower half of my mask, the top half is fully sealed though)
All you really need for airsoft to start out is good boots , mesh goggles because they don't fog , a g&g gun (they're reliable and good priced) a spare magazine and battery and BBS .... Primary guns rarely fail get what you need first not a holo sight ect
It's addressed in the closing comments, but the part about flashlights, where the guy speaks around the corner using the light with his safeties on the top of his head? Maybe rethink that next time you make a beginner's airsoft guide ;) Otherwise, great info for new airsofters, and really liked the vid! :D
If you want a chest rig for cheap ($20-$30) check aliexpress for plate carriers. Many have pouches included, and are actually molle compatable. A downside is that they smell horrible when you open them.
And don’t forget that you don’t need almost any of this for your first time, you can just wear proper clothing and go rent gear at your local field. If you like airsoft then go right ahead and buy all the gear you need. And the greatest tip: have fun!
If you don't like the sound of having to pop pellets out of your face (Google it, it does happen), a full face covering is a must. It's also great if you want to keep your teeth. I can't stress enough how many times I've seen pellets embedded in flesh and chipped teeth.
with me being the creator of my airsoft team, the M.T.C.A.G ( military training and combat airsofting group ), me and all of my soldiers never had to use $400 equipment for everything "nessisary" like this. just strong sunglasses and some high powered, modified spring guns. with amazing ACU camo army suits and gear. that's all we ever needed
