I learned more about living in an RV from this one video than from every other source I've been exposed to my entire life. And that includes having shopped for an RV to buy several times. (never did buy one. LOL) What an excellent tour. Fun and educational.

Thanks for all your videos, we have enjoyed watching them all. We placed an order on a Classic 33 in December, but have continued to 2nd guess our decision, wondering if we should have ordered the Classic 30! After hours of back & forth, reading tons of facebook comments and watching many videos, we contacted the dealer today & changed our order to the Classic 30. We are mentally exhausted from trying to make the right decision and hopefully we did. Almost everyone complains about how uncomfortable the sofa is on the 33, however we loved everything else. We agreed that the terrible sofa in the 33 was the deal breaker for us, as we will spend more time on the sofa than in the large shower. I hope we made the right decision on changing to the 30. The 30 also has a larger grey tank, larger black tank, more floor space in front of sofa, less hitch weight, more carry capacity, 2 more windows, and the fact that it has no motorized window shades, no macerating toilet and no motorized projector screen means less things to fail. Can you tell me your thoughts on the hot water, do you run out of hot water taking a long shower? How long can you run hot water? Also, do you run your refrigerator on propane while traveling or will the refrigerator run off the batteries? I’ve ordered the stove grates today (can’t believe it doesn’t come with a grate from Airstream). Thanks again for all your videos and great information, its been very helpful. This will be our first travel trailer, coming from a Class C motorhome.
Leslie, we had this exact same conversation when we were shopping for our Airstream. I LOVED the bathroom, the scroll down tv, and the extra little desk space, but Daniel was passionate about the 30 ft having more windows. He convinced me when we found out a lot of state parks don't allow rigs over 30 ft. I'm SO thankful he talked me into the 30 though, because the windows are so my favorite part of living in the Airstream. Plus, we rarely watch TV and the table space works great for our desk, we just made a rule to clean it off at the end of the work day. I think you're going to be REALLY happy with the decision to go with the 30. As for the hot water, Daniel really spent some time tweaking our system with the help of a fellow Airstreamer from the Airstream Addicts Facebook page and now it works really well. As long as you're on electric and you turn on the propane, it can stay hot for two "hollywood" style showers back to back. For our refrigerator, I run it dual (electric and propane) when we're on hookups. When we're traveling, it automatically switches over to propane, which is great. I can't wait to hear what you think of the 30 ft compared to your Class C. You'll have to keep us updated. When do you pickup the Airstream?

I like the lights under the Airstream, especially when you can change the colors. The Airstream Classic is really awsome, and I love the color scheme that you all have., that is the one I would choose. I would add a stand for my printer/scanner behind the dinette and infront of the couch, and for other items like my tape cassette deck and turn table. Yeah, I loke the albums.
Hi Susan! We ❤️ the lights, and, they're super functional! For instance, when we're hooking up at night we use the write. Also, we just recently visited a campground with a ton of bugs crawling around. Apparently, red light deters them, so we used that and it worked! Oh, and for the printer we couldn't live without ours. We ended up going with a small portable printer that we can store in the overhead compartment when not in use. Now I’m wishing we had a 30 foot Airstream… wow 3 extra feet can make a big difference! We do love the hatch on our 2021 Flying Cloud 27FB Twin (with the bunk) but I want the couch layout like yours! And my 5.5 year old daughter is already kind of outgrowing the bunk… and is sleeping in the kitchen/dining room area lately. Anyway… so fun to check out the fancy Motorcoaches at the show and then come watch your tour online of your Airstream. I am now thinking we might have to upgrade sometime soon!
I Travel all over the US for my job. I have been living in Airbnb or Hotels for 3 yrs now. I am sick of doing that because if I need to stay for 3 to 6 months, I have to pay full price for at least a month for a room at a good price. So im done doing that. I plan on buying an Airstream to live out of full time while I am on the road for the next 10yrs.
JT Moore, before we lived in the Airstream, we lived in hotels and AirBNBs for a year and a half. We LOVE the Airstream. It's so nice to be able to travel to different places, but your home stays the same. You're going to love it! ❤️

We did for like 8 years just long weekend campers. We are definitely looking forward to going full time in a few years we’re trying to decide if we want another bumper pull or a fifth wheel, I really love the Airstream trailers though but my husband wants a fifth wheel.

Hi Brandon! I (Daniel) love them too. This was the one thing I absolutely wanted to have on ours. Mostly, because they look super cool, but they are - in fact - very functional. We've since learned that keeping the lights on at night is supposed to keep rodents away at campgrounds, and I use the white lights at night to break down and set up - rather than hold a flashlight or use a headlamp. Nice tour! We have the Classic and love it too. The Alde heating system really keeps the space so comfy! I have heard that lighting under your RV can also prevent mice and other critters from hanging around there, so maybe that’s another functional point. One thing you might check, as it’s under our dinette tabletop, is if you have a fold down brace that might add extra support for your tabletop when it’s in spare bed mode. I also love the cooktop grate you have on your oven! Definitely want that on ours -where did you get it? Was that a dealer option? Thank you and safe travels!

Yup, you guessed it - I had no idea how to turn the Alde system on! 🤣I do now. Also, great tip on the dinette fold down brace. They're 'technically' designed for a different range, so the holes don't line up perfectly (setting expectations), but it's not very noticeable. We love the look of it! Well, I am sorry to say Airstream didn't listen to you about the shades. The 2022 models now have roman shades. Gone are the boxes around the windows and the ability to blackout the windows. Some love this change, while others not so much.
Kev, so we heard. While the shades we have on our Airstream Classic aren't perfect, we love that they have the capability of being black out shades. We're not a big fan of the roman shades. 🤷♀️

We want one with the bed with windows surrounding, without the wardrobes on each side. 27 or 30’. We like the walnut & cream look of the Globetrotter and the honey decor of the Flying Cloud. We haven’t physically walked through one yet... only RU-vid. I loved all of the bells & whistles in yours! I checked to see if we could rent one like you did in another episode, but there are none nearby. Boo! On a happy note, our F250 finally arrived today from the factory and we picked it up! @@Wanderlocal we just made a trip to the closest dealer and walked through various used models, from 25-33’. I think we’re leaning toward a 30’ classic. I feel like the bathroom in the 33 took space away from the living area. Plus we want panoramic in both ends. If you guys ever decide to upgrade..... we’d be interested in yours! 😉
The airstreams are hard to find, right now! When I say “airstream “ to a dealer/sales person, they immediately interrupt and tell me there’s a shortage and try to steer me to something else!
It is a beautiful unit. Congratulations! Just a quick FYI. You mentioned the solar system powered some of your system AND recharged your battery system. A common misconception. All your power is coming from your batteries. Solar powers nothing, but rather controls the rate of recharge for your batteries. Nice video, great looking Airstream!

Beautiful unit. We looked at a customer unit (it might have been yours - but no graphics at that time) at Tampa RV. We considered trading our Class A DP in on one. It had a lot of positives, but we decided that our washer/dryer + on-board generator + Residential fridge continues to be the best solution for us at this time. We travel 6-8 months a year. Congrats!

Thanks, David! Grand Teton is near the top of the list for us. Do you have a favorite section of the park that you prefer, or tips on camping there? We know we have to book a reservation in advance, but that's the extent of what we know so far.
@@Wanderlocal Hi guys! I'll send a bit more info on Facebook, but you have 3 decent in-park options and a few realistic options outside the park. (1) Gros Ventre campground is the closest to Jackson and Moose - great base in the southern end of the park. This is where we lived all last summer. You are either dry camping here but there is one loop with 50 amp. (2) Colter Bay RV Park, which is next to but separate from Colter Bay Campground, is a great location for the north-central area of the park: Oxbow Bend, Jackson Lake, Moran and Buffalo Valley and all the Colter Bay infrastructure. FHU!! We spent two weeks here in 2019 as tourists and loved it. (3) Flagg Ranch (Headwaters Campground) is 'austere' and feels like the middle of nowhere, but it's a really good launching point for Yellowstone South Entrance and does have FHU. There is a restaurant and camp store on site. Jenny Lake is tent only, and while Signal Mountain, Coulter Bay CG and Lizard Creek CG all say they have a 30 ft limit, most of the sites are more like 20-25 ft. The town of Jackson has one or two commercial parks (expensive!). There are also a mix of National Forest and Commercial CG's east of Moran in Buffalo Valley (pretty). Finally, there are some very well known boondocking sites immediately east of the Park in the National Forest. It's doable towing your 30 ft up those roads but makes my wife extremely nervous. Also they are no longer a secret -- and seemed to be packed throughout the entire summer. Hope this helps (and is not tl;dr!!).
Silver Andrew - For sure! If there was one downside to all of this technology, it's that it pulls a lot of power - which makes boondocking a little more difficult. The features are amazing when you're plugged into shore power, but not so much when you're in the middle of nowhere. 😉
@Wil D, awe man. I wish we could. That cutting board was a lucky find at a Home Goods years ago when Daniel and I still had a real home. We've kept it this whole time because we love it so much and it fits perfectly in our Airstream. We are looking to replace it though with an American-made brand through, so as soon as we do, we'll be sure to share that!
Hi, Timothy! We keep them in the rear compartment of the Airstream. We own four chairs total, and they fit with no problem. This thing has plenty of storage space! Not as much as a Class A, but there’s still a lot of storage. 😃 Lauren + Daniel

Airstream offers powered shades on their 33" models. I wonder why they don't offer it for the 30'. Maybe you can have them retrofitted to yours. It would be an awesome convenience!
G & S Schab, YES! We've learned that since we published this video. I have no idea why they wouldn't put it in the 30ft too, but knowing Airstream they probably had a pretty good reason. 🤷♀️ I'll have to ask them about a retrofit because you're right. That would be so awesome. 😍
No please not, in the Classic 33 those boxes holding the blinds are even thicker and really obstructing the space to much for our liking, that’s the main reason we wouldn’t wont the 33 ft! So please AIRSTREAM do not make them blinds electric ⚡️ We are in to our 4 Th AIRSTREAM since 15 years...and have seen ALL the models....big Fan

You guys did an excellent job explaining the unit, and you made it very entertaining to watch. Great job! My question is what type of truck (tow vehicle) are you using to pull the trailer and have you been satisfied with the it's overall performance? We are in the finals stages of making a decision on the Airstream 33 Classic TB and have to decide on a tow vehicle. Again, thanks for a great video. Happy camping!
Hi Daniel! We decided on a Ford F-250 6.7L Diesel with the Equalizer sway bars. At first, we were on the fence between a few makes, models, and sizes, but after touring the country for the last 4 consecutive months full time - some of which was in the mountains on switchback roads - I'm SO glad we went with the Ford. It makes towing VERY easy. Half of the time I can hardly tell it's back there. The last thing you want is a trailer behind you pushing the truck forward. Especially, while you're going downhill. It's just not worth it! Be safe my friend. Oh, and you can't go wrong with the Classic! Daniel we have a 30 Classic as well and you definitely need at least a 3/4 ton truck. Some of the 1/2 ton trucks out there have enough power but the Classic will eat up all your cargo capacity.
Hi Daniel, we have the Classic 33 TB too. We’re towing with the GMC 2500 Sierra AT4 diesel and find it very good, too. If you look on Airstream Forums, people all have their favorite brands LOL! You just need to be aware of your payload. While the Twin has more storage, you’ll probably need your truck bed to still stow some gear. Safe travels!
Sandra Westley from the UK I bought my husband a strap like that for the keys, he was forever losing them, the strap goes round his neck and he cannot LOSE them, but he can open and lock all cupboards. Yes we have lost several awnings, once in France it was very windy and my husband was determined to erect a 30 ft outside awning that fitted all along the side, as much as we tried to hold on to this thing it took off and wrapped itself over the top of the van getting caught on all the roof windows, an utter nightmare, lots of people came to help, fortunately, but we had done quite a bit of damage to it, which we had to get repaired.
Sandra, does your hubby swing the keys around in a circle all the time too? I (Lauren) do this and it drives Daniel nuts. 🤣But, you're right. It's a great way to ensure they don't get lost as easily as without the strap. As for the awning, man - those things are so hard to keep in tact. We hardly ever use ours because we're totally terrified of breaking another one. Sounds like your experience in France was about as traumatizing as ours in Tennessee. 🤣You'd think with all the technology that is available, manufacturers would have figured out a way to make them less vulnerable. 🤷♀️

Agreed! We’ve seen too many photos of campers flipped over to take any chances! 😬 We also went with an Equalizer hitch. It’s one of the better hitches. There’s a few.

Hi! We actually had them done at the Airstream dealership after ordering the parts online from https Boogey Lights. They're a small family owned shop and wonderful customer service. Also, we know a lot of people that installed them on their own, too. www.boogeylights.com/

Also, they are technically made for a different model of Furrion ranges, so the holes don't line up perfectly, but we still love it! It gives the range a much classier look. Secondly, we store our cutting board on the floor (towel beneath it) while moving campgrounds. The sink covers just go back over the sink for transport. They've never moved on us.
