Nice car, I like the color! I have a Mk7.5 also about to add on the stage 1 airtec intercooler. The procedure is quite the same. Good to see how you tackled it without editing stuff out.
Higher stage is only needed on the track or if you are going to use a bigger turbo. Otherwise, Stage 2 or 3 will give you less performance . Same as a cold air intake that actually takes in heat from the engine bay instead of getting real cold air. It will give you less performance .
Nice vid mate, very educational as always. As for power, I'd say 240HP, if not properly remap with actual mod ON the car when tuned, they give barely any power. Cheers
Any careful tips on how to remove the bumper? You made it look so easy at 8:28. I'm afraid to break the clips when removing or putting the bumper back on :/
im sure you can buy them on ebay them clips, but im loving the car Vids man, at Least its nothing like other channels when they have all this BS, im a young lad look at me im messing about with cars and things, your vids are like "this is what i want to do / planned to do" you show it off talk about it and fit it, job done :) non of this messing about just side tracking to long it out.. i could watch a vid of your content for hrs if needed , good vid :) EDIT: I wonder if you can get a new Lower Grill? that would show the airtec logo really well :)
Cheers for your comments mate. I know what you mean about the guys editing there videos to make things look easy. Oh and I hate the way some of them bodge up things so badly.
Just had one fitted to my MK8 ST (stage 1). You can defiantly feel something different once fitted. (the airtec website says between 8-12 BHP with stage 1).
Bit of advice, try to equalise your background music volume and your narrative volume. I felt like I had to constantly turn you up while you were talking, then turn the music down once you'd finished talking.
A bigger intercooler has 4 disadvantages here: A) In this case without a bigger turbo it's pretty much overkill (waste of money), B) it "steals" cooling from the radiator by blocking it (your engine may run warmer, not ideal for lubrication), C) More turbo lag, due to there being more volume of air between the turbo and the engine, D) It weighs more, and is detrimental to weight balance since it is all the way at the front on an already front heavy car.
