ooh! The KT Ginxu! Also looking forward to the Appletree Jazz series. First one is a rad shape, the Jazz is a refined simple shape(with bomber construction). So much to review, so much rapid development early in Wingfoil's life. Fun Times! keep it up Tucker! As always, thanks Malcolm

Thanks Malcolm, will do. The Ginxu is a unique beast. Really fun board but requires some special techniques for knee starts due to the volume distribution and compact shape. More on that during the review. Stay tuned - Tucker

@@MACkiteboarding your appreciated comment reflects my first theoretical expectation when having a look at the volume distribution from the side. They do offer huge sizes volume wise nevertheless and what you had under your feet looked quite wide as well compared to the appletree. Big question is how this board behaves on gusty inland lakes. Once having left the water, there are lots of boards out there which perform. Thx for your work, I´m living in the alps and do have a long winter period as well - but without icebergs on my waterways ;)

Surfwax on the handles works great for me to get m a bit more sticky when using gloves.

Thanks for an excellent review, as always! One thing I don't think you mentioned (but I might have missed it) is that the canopy seems baggy compared to the OR or Dutone wings. Judging from the videos with this wing there is a lot of flutter, which I guess affects performance negatively. Any thoughts on this factor?
@MACkiteboarding
@MACkiteboarding 2 года назад
Yes, the canopy is a bit deeper through the middle of the foil shape, so there is more loose canopy material. Thankfully the frame is stiff so it still pumps well with a long/deep pump technique. When the canopy has power it rides well without much flutter but it is a bit noisier when flagged. -Tucker

Interesting! The price is pretty up there in Europe. Question: what's that orange line in your video? A camera safety line attachment?

Is that the Appletree Slice v2 board? Will there be a review for that too?
@MACkiteboarding
@MACkiteboarding 2 года назад
This is the Jazz model. I'll have a review at some point but probably not for a few months. Really excellent construction just like the Appleslice v1 and v2 boards. Just a few different shapes.- Tucker

@@bennis123 Slice v2 is less stable but a little lighter weight. Both are excellent boards. -Tucker

Great video, Tucker! I noticed the rear foot strap is a foot hook and slightly off-centered. I have not put a rear foot strap on my board because my rear foot is in the same position as yours. I have been trying to move the back foot to the center line as all the pros/instructors seem to say that having your feet on the center line is essential. What is your view on this?
@MACkiteboarding
@MACkiteboarding 2 года назад
Yes on foil wingspans over maybe... 89cm, I like to have my stance offset to have more leverage into turns for more immediate response and harder turns. As long as your front and rear foot are offset similar distances respective to the centerline you balance is still "centered" over the foil's center of lift. I don't like riding with my weight offset to the heelside unless I'm just cruising for a long distance. Sometimes you can accomplish that with a more "open" strap so your rear foot is more offset to toeside but ideally I prefer a strap insert at that location. Not many brands offer it sadly but you can always add on some NSI stick on inserts wherever you want.-Tucker

👍! Side question how is this nolimitz mast.? Stiff enough for high aspect wings like ART 1099 etc.. any ventilation problems noticed? Thanks
@MACkiteboarding
@MACkiteboarding 2 года назад
Yes, plenty stiff for me at 200lbs. No ventilation issues for me thus far. Big fan of the NoLimitz mast. -Tucker

hi thanks for the great review. how the wing as compared to f1 strike ?
@MACkiteboarding
@MACkiteboarding 2 года назад
Thanks Felix, Compared to the Strike V1... It's stiffer, similar luff/balance, less ergonomic due to the handle placement. Not as much lift but more forward speed. -Tucker

Great review as always ...what harness are you using there? Can see the board leash is attached to the back of the harness but where are you attaching the wing leash to? Also what gopro mount you using?
@MACkiteboarding
@MACkiteboarding 2 года назад
Hey M, thanks for the feedback and good vibes! I'm using the NSI Minimalist V2 harness. The wing leash is just cuffed to the front belt. www.mackiteboarding.com/nsi-minimalist-waist-harness-v2/ The Gopro mount is a Flymount Aero on a Black 9 with max lens. www.mackiteboarding.com/flymount-aero-le-camera-mount/ -Tucker

@@MACkiteboarding Ok cool thanks for the info. But if you attach the wing leash to the front belt does that not get in the way of the sliding hook?
@MACkiteboarding
@MACkiteboarding 2 года назад
@@Mickfoil1 sometimes but not as frequently as you might expect. If you have a dedicated line without a cuff, you can connect that to the front attachment loop on the harness which is less cumbersome but I don't usually take the time to switch the leash. - Tucker
