The airwolf crew certainly weren't in any danger, the jerk was shooting a 9 mm pistol against an armoured attack helicopter. It's called the Rules of engagement; Don't fire until fired upon. They would have been justified in shooting the tyres out or the engine but nothing more. After that, they would've been expected to call in the authorities to arrest the father.
Frances Sweeney Erm...they *were* fired upon and how would that be entertaining in the context of an "Airwolf" battle sequence? They did that in the 3rd Season and it was boring as hell.
I have a great deal of affection for Series 4. Certainly, it's a different show compared to what it had been, but there was a lot worse of television at the time.
Huh, those CGI effects don't look nearly as bad as they did when the series actually aired. Maybe the reduced video quality necessitated by RU-vid had something to do with it.
The guy deserves a spot on America's dumbest criminals; shooting an attack helicopter with a pistol certainly is very stupid. I think it is one of the few episodes where Jo Satini didn't actually get herself captured and rescued by Airwolf. She needed her own set of Ransom demands she got captured so many times.
Robert Greenlee The explosions, the live pyrotechnics, were usually excellent for the budget that they had. You can’t fault the final fireball that rises from the triggered briefcase on top of the dam. The engine on the 4x4 being hit was pretty decent and realistic - but the rest, now - they *were* horrible.
Steven Shirk The writers were fine and able - the budget was what held them back. You can only do so much with so little. If the money had been there, they would’ve been incredible.
Alpha6Five You have to remember that the fourth season exists solely to give the show enough episodes for syndication. This was about making their money back via broadcast rights and that was all that mattered.
