I hear a lot how Series 4 'sucked', and yet I'm watching the DVDs and am enjoying it. It's not the same show as Series 1-3, but there's no way it could have been under the circumstances. People say JMV should have returned, but they seem to forget that his behaviour was one of the reasons the show had to change.
Season 4 is just fine! Does the season have stinker mistakes, moments and some episodes? Sure it does! But seasons 1-3 during the CBS run do too! To fully understand how the events and changes of Season 4 happened, fans need to have an imagination to picture the character events and stories that happened off screen and behind the scenes in the Airwolf universe. Dom is killed in a helicopter explosion, and one could imagine that maybe the likes of John Bradford Horn had the vehicle sabotaged with the hopes of killing his enemies Stringfellow Hawke and Dominic Santini. The Lair and the Lady could've gotten the upgrades due to Michael having the Airwolf budget from the Firm/Company increased from the events of the Redwolf episode. String and Michael's friendship was shown to have gotten better during season 3. As for String, he's not dead! Sinjin comes back with Airwolf to the Lair after flying String to parts unknown with a pleasant look on his face saying "There was something I had to do." at the conclusion of 'Blackjack'. String is alive! There are a few moments in season 4 that imply this and there is some information Sinjin and the team have that only String could have told them. Does this sound like fan fiction? Absolutely, but it works from that stand point. Also a fan fiction moment that wouldn't be too far of a stretch is that String comes back post season 4 alongside Caitlin, who was looking out for him while String was healing from his injuries. Half-Pint was in their care too and comes back as well so he can get to know his father Sinjin. Maybe String and Cait also used some of that time together to put a bun in the oven too. All fan fiction but it's the best that can be thought up or maybe some one else could think of something better. We're never getting an official Airwolf resolution TV movie whatsoever, so it's going to have to do.
love it.gazelle ,then turns into a huey ,then a huges 500 blows up (same ol stock footage) at the end.buget for the entire episode £10.(uk money) cheap and nasty.
Hmmm, yeah, just like an Army Hughes 500 changing to a *BLACK* Hughes 500, then back to Army in Season 3. Then there was the one where Airwolf hovers over a crazy “catman” with a bow and arrow and does...nothing. All the times we saw the same red n’ white Hughes 500 get blown up...AND...that black one. Cheap and nasty in Season 3. Yep. It were shit even then, pal. Least Season 4 had an excuse. No money.
This show had that magical property: To turn some airplanes into others. For example, there was this episode where they identified two Mig-25s, and ta-daaa... They were turned into F-84s!! Magic!!
Errrrrrrrrrrr...no. Season 1? Yes. Season 2? Plenty of shit eps. Half that season was crap. Season 4’s scripts were leaps and bounds better...”Airwolf” wasn’t a detective show.
Want to know why series 4 flopped? Continuity sucked, for a start. It might have been possible to bring Stringfellow back at times to move the brother's relationship along. There was whole part that wasn't explored; St John is home, String is hurt. They could've him visiting String in a rehabilitation centre overseas or living under an assumed name. He hadn't seen his brother in years, there would've been a lot of healing to do between the 2 of them. It would've interesting to see the roles reversed and St John has to look for his brother whose been taken prisoner, and then feel some of the anguish from the false leads that String did.
Two problems at the time: USA Network didn't have the money and Jan Michael was having serious problems with drugs and alcohol. (During season 3 he started turning up to shoots drunk, hungover, stoned or high)
Vincent was uninsurable at that point, if I remember correctly. Though filming had been moved to Canada so maybe their rules are different, I don't know. I remember his physical appearance between the Season 3 finale in '86 and the Season 4 premier in '87 looked like he had aged 7 or 8 years. He was on a bad decline with addiction.
I prefer to think Sin Jin took String to Caitlin, who took him into hiding with Half-Pint along until the heat was off String and they all reunited and Sin Jin reconnected with his brother and also developed a relationship with the son he hadn’t known about.
Here`s another comment Look at timestamp 4:31 you see a Gazelle Helecopter Spot the difference in time stamp 4:34 Very different Chopper how why just not stick to the Same chopper then when they get struck by fire suddenly there is a problem.
@@AirwolfArchive It's like a train wreck. Ya can't look away. It really is bad. I remember watching this season when I was a kid after the original was canceled. I was happy it was on because at least it was Airwolf... but I was so embarrassed for the actors. And I was 12.
@@TexasNorthDFW Lol. Please. Don’t feel sorry for people who don’t want it. Another pathetic remark. No, what’s *REALLY* bad, Jerame, is the Season 2 and 3 episodes you probably adore that were so clumsily thought out, but had all the money in the world. Episodes about gangsters, mobsters, drug dealers, corrupt sheriffs; country music singers, grannies, babies and a guy with a bow and arrow “protecting” his cats. You think that’s what Airwolf was all about? You’re deluded if so. Those were beyond embarrassing and a complete waste of time. They made a mockery of the show, which is why a lot of people laugh at it. In Season 4, we got back to the heavy, hard stuff. Dark, gritty, Cold War spy stories with Airwolf taking on Russia and their allies. Vietnam, Bulgaria, terrorists...Neo-Nazis and American weapon sellers.
And this is why it dropped ratings first of all St James Hawk somehow de aged and all of a sudden 1 man not assigned to the military managed to find the lair and the lady, In this video the missile strike on the van what a mess very visuals. and so it went. such a shame. Oh yeah and the worst thing Killing off Dom in the first episode of Season 4. so bad.
BLACKNIGHTFORCE The scripts were a damn sight better than many detective/soap-opera ones in the 2nd and 3rd Seasons. Take the ridiculously bias, rose-tainted glasses off.
