There is a nice quote from the Bible that applies to OP's son: "He has received his reward in full." He sold his mother for possessions and luxury and he got possessions and luxury. He should not blame her if they proved to be ephemeral and certainly were not enough to achieve his dreams (such as they are). I have no doubt that he went his way sure of himself being the victim and continues to believe that to this day. Well, hopefully, that will give him comfort as he tries to work his way through post-grad school.
