Apparently they missed the KISS principle. Panel integration, automation equals lots of unnecessary cost and a multitude of points of failure. Looks pretty, but impractical and frankly a bad idea for such a critical system. For the cost of this system, you could have an aluminum portable cylinder, regulators, cannulas, and your own manifold/refill station with hydrostatic tests and delivered oxygen for life, and still have money to spare.

It isn't constant flow, its a pulse demand system...you're comparing apples and hand grenades...

@@tstanley01 Doesn't really matter the system. Pulse flow, digital controls and fancy displays might 'justify' the price, but it still has more points of failure and in the end, both systems serve the same purpose - oxygen supplementation to allow safe and legal flight in unpressurized aircraft at altitude.

You could make this argument about cabin pressurization too…backups provide a simple solution to the reliability question. A small bottle and mask under the pilot seat would be smart to have with ANY O2 system.

@@Heathfx5 Cabin pressurization serves somewhat of a different purpose, additional benefits. It's not just a system, the aircraft themselves are designed, engineered for the pressure differential. It allows for flights at much higher altitudes, animals in the cabin, etc. Agreed pressurization systems are complex, but so is a turbo engine compared to normally aspirated - but they also serve different purposes as the turbo is faster and can fly higher.

Based on the comments, the rep for the company didn't do a good job explaining the differences between his system and a constant flow traditional oxygen system. They are light years apart and oxygen consumption is much much lower, while actually supplying more oxygen to the person. 4k seems pretty reasonable for the system (as far as aviation equipment goes). A mountain high system is still 1300 for a box that runs two people, and you still have to have a traditional o2 system installed in the plane.

Is it compatible with other cannula types?

Would that panel interface also integrate with the Dynon HDX?

neat bit of kit, although those push fit pneumatic connectors are a bit sketchy.

Not had much to do with modern pneumatics I'm guessing?

Very slick. For the people, that money has no value.

1st question - if you use the app where does the pilots (& passenger) breathing and health info go? No doubt the pilot has to register the app first before he can use it.
