“Talent isn’t sexually transmitted”. One of the best lines in professional wrestling in the last two decades. She left after starting a revolution. That’s a move made only by a true G. She could come back now to any promotion, and I guarantee she’d be top level only weeks after returning. Lots of people credit the “4 horsewomen” of WWE for the turnabout, and I will give them credit where it’s due. Becky and Charlotte are possibly the best female pro wrestlers of all time, but AJ and Paige started the “revolution”.
I DEFINITELY don't hold Charlotte in such high regards... Becky, sure... But Sasha is FAR superior than Charlotte in all regards especially storytelling and it factor. Even Bianca and Bayley are crawling up the ranks as one of the best women in the biz. But MY GOD I have never seen a more bland performer, male or female than I have seen in Charlotte. Face or heel, it's the same thing. Roman Reigns transformed, and even then Charlotte has stayed the same since like 2016 now. She manages to be the most miserable and boring part of the entire roster and show. And when she suspiciously gets inserted into different rivalries, she simply makes things WORSE.
She literally says in this interview that she will not return to wrestling. For the sake of her mental and physical health. She had one suicide attempt and thought about killing herself because of her bipolar disorder while she was in WWE. While she had the divas championship this happened apparently. She wants to move on, just let her be done.
Yes but I think if she understands how much she impacted little girls everywhere? I think that would be a positive thing to reflect on for her. I remember being 13 or something years old (I’m 25 now) and I would tune in to watch her every night she was on television. I wanted to be in the WWE because of AJ (I’m female). I loved the divas before her, Kelly Kelly and Lita, but AJ was the diva to make me want to strive for my WWE dreams. Once she left? Those dreams were ruined because I would never get to face her in a match. Now that punk is back at the WWE? The opportunity for her to return is bigger than ever. I hope she considers it and takes whatever precautions she needs to prevent her mental health going downhill.. but the people want her back and I hope that’s enough for her to entertain the idea..
@@user-wz7ef1fv4mtalentless really? Just because he debuted at 38 and lost. He is talentless. Give him a break. He was not an amateur wrestlers before going pro. UFC has best fighters in the wrold. He had no shot plus he was 38.
@@user-wz7ef1fv4mShe's got that Hot crazy chick energy kind of like Aubrey Plaza and YES! She definitely wears the pants in that relationship and Phil would probably tell you the same thing in fear of his life. 😂😂😂
@@Rishu-br6twbro, he is pretty talentless... I mean, he can cut a good promo every now and then, but he cant fight his way out of a wet paper bag. I've nothing against Punk, but that move over to the UFC was embarrassing for him, I had second hand embarrassment watching it. Goes to show that all these men from WWE and other promotions that think they're tough, more than likely arent. I'll give Brock a pass on this one though, that man's as tough as they come, he hung with the best in his weight division when he was around the UFC, but Punk could never in a million years no matter how young or old hang with the top dogs in his division. You're born a fighter, if it isn't in you then you have no chance, unfortunately punk isn't that way, he's a showman, an entertainer, not a fighter. I wish the man well though, hopefully a successful second run in the WWE.
@@NoxWyatt exactly mate. From day one it sounded like porn video title and everyone, male or female probably instantly imagined her getting forcefully handled in her mouth by a particular part of one's body. My question is, how did she not realise that to begin with? Or even better, why didn't jon (moxley) not pick up on it and inform her or try to get her to avoid the title and it's risks lol
She’s great dude! Walked away and didn’t bad mouth anybody really. Didn’t get involved in his beef or all the time he was gone etc…It’s cool should she choose to ever come back, she could easily slide into both of those locker rooms with respect. Good for her.
I had the luck of meeting her (and other WWE superstars) at an airport while waiting at baggage claim. Every single one of them I took a picture with was super nice. She was no exception. My first picture was blurry and when I asked if we could take another, she didnt have any attitude or bad energy.
It must be hard for AJ now. She was so worried about Punk possibly regressing to the anger he had when he was ending his time In WWE. And just when it seemed that he was finally in a good place…all that crap happened with the Elite and Colt Cabana. I hope she and Punk can find a way to keep things good and stable at home despite all this nonsense.
@@MistaPea106 i don't think her neck is the main issue but mostly her spine, which can result in a bad neck. AJ was one of the few genuine female in-ring performers who actually gave it their all during that time (together with Paige and to some degree Natalya and the Bella's). She did crazy shit with her body, shit that the other 'divas' didn't. It definitely must have taken a toll on her. However, Beth Phoenix, Michelle McCool, Lita, Trish Stratus... they all returned at a 'older' age after spending time enjoying retirement, so AJ could always come back. She's only 35 now so there's time.
Apparently, AJ says she’s largely healed all her old wrestling wounds. But from what it sounds like, she just mentally has moved on. Maybe she doesn’t think she can hang with the new kids (she can), maybe she’s worried fans won’t care (they will), but for now, it spun like she is fine being retired.
@@DawsonD2023people said punk was never returning to wrestling. Then he came to AEW. then people said punk would never go back to WWE. here we are lmao. Never say never
Now cm punk is back in WWE!!! I hope to see AJ Lee in women's royal rumble 2024 pls make it happen AJ Lee it's time😭😭😭 if you ever appear I'll cry and it's gonna be the best gift since the next royal rumble will be on my birthday😭
I want AJ back so bad. She retired before I started watching again and seeing her stuff on old episodes makes bums me out that I wasn’t watching. Her being a knockout doesn’t hurt either
AJ is sincerely *needed* in the WWE. I feel that AJ could be the one to hit heights only seen since Becky at the top of the stairs. Timing couldn't be better since Phil's already created this wave of hysteria. I'm crossing my fingers that she makes her return in 2024.
@charleighh.990 Coud totally se that happening...Or even Cody and Brandi (since they want to take over for HHH/Steph, while Punk is making a plan to run NXT after HBK) I really enjoyed MMC and hope they bring it back regardless. 😁
AJ has always been one of my favorites Not just for what she's done in ring but just as a person Plus she had one of my favorite insults in WWE with the "Talent isnt sexualy transmitted"
I don't keep up with wrestling a lot, meaning I haven't developed a wrestling intuition, but something still tells me AJ isn't actually done. I feel like we'll be in for a surprise from her in 2024.
@@milk_bath how is “aj incels” and “punk orphans” making fun of the haters lmao. literally sounds like ur mocking the fans. thats on u for wording it so shitty
She was the Diamond among the rough, one of the very few bright spots in a crap era. Before she came along, that division was D-E-A-D, especially between 2010 and 2012. AJ was the first woman in years that got fans interested. Her popularity was basically the spark needed for the women’s revolution. During the rise of AJ Lee, Paige came along, then the Four Horsewomen, and the rest is history.
She was the britt baker of the divas era, yes technically better than all the other girls but she never did anything to help them and consistently buried them on the mic
She bured all of them once.. in that pipebomb of hers.. but it was directed to the bella twins and lets be honest.. they r horrible in the ring.. and they got over more cuz of bryan and cena.. she even complained to stephanie for looking after the divas division.. so she was the WHISTLEBLOWER.. and thats a big thing.
AJ as small as she is, was legit wrestler. She trained with Jay Lethal. I honestly think AJ really did get screwed because she could legit out wrestle the others.
@@mvjr7758 She for screwed because she is the wife of Cm Punk and she drank his kool-aid when she left with him. Zelina Vega is married to Malakai Black , both are in different companies and it’s all good , wwe didn’t fired her for being married to an AEW wrestler (she was even made queen of the ring and won the women’s tag title , that’s way more than most women could even dream of sadly , even if it’s not that much )
C’mon. There’s no industry where Punk is going to make as much. That’s why he went back. And Easy E was right. All that money for Punk, and zero return on investment.
@Necramonium Darby Allin, Powerhouse Hobbs, Daniel Garcia, Matt Sydal, Bobby Fish, Eddie Kingston, QT Marshall, Max Caster, and Penta Oscuro are not better or worse after facing Punk. They did not advance or decline in their career or place in AEW and the card. He did nothing for them one way or the other. In a sense these are throwaway matches designed to give Punk someone to wrestle.
what zero return on investment? did you not see Tony Khan say CM Punk made him the most money ever since he was signed? Stop being jealous of another male and become a succesful male yourself - if you can that is, which apparently you cant. really sad when men fail and no woman wants them and they have to try and bring down other men to their level LOL. that behaviour only makes girls leave you for the guys youre tryina bring down. very attractive behaviour, pal. Khan went on for like 3 minutes takling about how every PPV and event punk did for him was RECORD money.
Punk is the John Cena of AEW, except Cena was never this pompous, arrogant, snarky and unbearable outside the ring. CM Punk "elevating" new talent, when it's 100% guaranteed he won't lose to any of them because he just got there and has a more recognisable name. The truth is he wants these young guys to carry him to a decent match. None of those guys gained anything from having a match with Punk, aside from maybe that FTR guy who won't stfu about Punk now and is becoming just as obnoxious but at least he's getting eyes on him and his team and that's just because Punk wrongly thinks they're the best wrestlers in the world next to him.
@@DisastrousIntentionally Who cares what they say lol? The young guys have proven to not know anything about wrestling fundamentals. It's about perception to us, the audience and to a normal, non-militant aew fanboy, it just looked like an old botchy guy coming back to go over young talent.
