I can see why Ajahn Sumedho, and other Westerners who practiced under Ajahn Chah's auspices, found him so charming and engaging. There is something almost elfin about his smile. And could that "young monk from London" have been Ajahn Sucitto? It sounded like him, and the smile was familiar, although it was hard to trace the lean, lined, worn countenance of nowadays' Ajahn Sucitto in that smooth, eager, innocent-looking face. He ordained in 1976 in Thailand, and In 1977 (when this film was made) he would have been about 28 years old. Anyway, this was a most interesting film. I'm enjoying these old documentaries that Buddhist Insights has been uploading recently. Thank you! Sadhu, sadhu, sadhu.
