i just wanted to add that lust sex isnt a bad thing in fact im shore you have all heard of Buddhist tantra where sex is part of the practice, have you seen old Buddhist porn you find many images statues of buddha and dakini in copulation without sex & lust there be no life there is middle path of balance sex eating & relationships & so on, mara said if buddha destroys desire the whole world would be destroyed no sex no life
Perhaps the school of elders rejects their connections with later schools of Buddhism as well, but everything is interconnected and interdependent. All sentient beings have Buddha Nature. I would suggest to focus on The Four Mindfulness and The Four Immeasurables. This too, those of the teachings of orthodox school will reject, yet is it not in the Buddha’s Teachings? Is it not the crux and spirit of Buddhism? Attachment to the Letter of the Law and no The Spirit of the Law is the difference. Dialogue, cooperation, and fellowship is what is most important if we are to build Friendship, as what did the Buddha say about Friendship and practicing The Way? May all beings obtain Final Liberation.

They do temporary mendicancy in Thailand. People can take several months off work to go be a monk and still have their job when they come back to society.

The children are calm because they do not have the craving, or need for American junk food culture.but if introduced, they are children and will eat it. In Buddhism the need for encouraging craving maybe should not be required. But introducing the dharma is beautiful at anytime bhante. In gratitude 🙏
