I actually kinda like mine. I chose it because the rows of the caps have better transitions between the caps. Ie. the tilting of the W compared to the Q on the true Alice layout is very abrupt. Also, on this keyboard I put the two space bars on upside down which takes that sharp forward edge off and it is much smoother on the thumbs now. much more comfortable!
I've had this keyboard for around like 3 weeks now and I am glad that there is finally a review on it. as for my experience. It is definitely not a board for everyone and the VIA could be alot better. Ajazz did not do a great job with this keyboard. It took a bit to understand what was what on the left side of the keyboard. I got the keyboard for 40$ on amazon and I opened it up with a pocket knife and placed car dampening foam. I threw away the switches and decided to replace the switches with jerrzi tactiles, and put some samgsn keycaps on it and it sounds alot better that what is soundded like originally. I wouldn't recommend this keyboard though for anyone as their first build. as even for its price. you can get a gmk keyboard at around the same price when its on sale for like 30-40$. 19:43 Honestly I really cannot recommend it to anyone period. The deign looks really cute for an alice-y inspired 65% keyboard but it is not worth it. You'd have a much more better time with a gmk 67. All in all. Ajazz needs to do a better job. Im still keeping mind because to me, its a unique board.
I tried this version and the Pro version (tri-mode). The keycaps on the Pro are significantly better - double-shot walls, deeper, with better printing. It feels like a completely different keyboard - and it only costs about $10 more.
My interest in the brand was seeing what the new "ergo" / Alice layout was all about after using a wired Gateway Computer ergo keyboard for decades. I briefly tried an iClever folding bluetooth keyboard with angled split and wasn't thrilled to try using it for longer than a website search. For my smaller hands this is surprising and pleasantly close to my battle axe ergo full size.( I did get the Pro version.) After all these years hearing about brown and red switches, I was a bit put off by "seafoam" being a choice. It is something of an unknown to me not understanding all the minutiae of switches. There is no hitch in the key movement like I was expecting so I at least have the option of trying a different set in more historical switches. And the lack of a second "B" key is not a problem for me because when I learned to type it was a left hand item. Other wishlist keyboards (and I collect oddballs) is the Kinesis Advantage2 Ergonomic but costs three times as much.
And as a side note, the LED options on the pro-- so many settings of whole keyboard color and strobe if that is your thing. So far it's got more options than the sub $30 listings. I might miss a game-specific per key setup in the future but that might be for when I get more familiar with the options out there.
Hey, i think maybe you should check out the ABM 066. I think it made by zuoya but there are a few companies buying them and rebranding it. Looks better than this one and also cheap.
Not much info out there on this board. I took a chance and bought one. I was drawn to the interesting Alice-ish layout. The keycaps are the worst I’ve ever seen. I did a lazy switch lube job and applied some krytox to the stabs with a syringe. The space bars are an oddball size so I kept those and installed YMDK carbon keycaps; the orange matched the existing orange space bars. It now sits on my shelf as a decoration.
Did I mishear you, did you say you paid about $30 for this? It feels like a pretty critical review for $30. I see them up to $60 on Amazon. I will ask the dangerous question, but if you could trade this straight up for a GMK 67 I am guessing you would even though you can get those for $20 sometimes?
I came here for information and you are killing me with how you are just nitpicking. You're TWISTING a plastic keyboard with a PC plate and complaining about it - on an object that will be flat on the desk and not taking those forces EVER haha. I _get_ that it's a bit chintzy, but at $35 it is a KILLER intro for that layout, let alone Mech keyboards in general. Or do you forget hot swap was a PREMIUM thing just a couple years ago? Your video is a top result when searching for this model, which is good for you but a bummer for people like me looking for realistic reviews. It's not the best but it's not TRYING to be, right? Curb your expectations and step away from the obvious (judging from your body language and tone from the beginning, at least) have some presumptive biases that look for validation rather than correction. Having griped this much (sorry, by the way, not trying to be particularly mean or anything), I'd be happy to take this board off your hands and experience that disappointment and eventual storage :D hahaha
I wanted to like this board, it was cheap, and I was not comparing it to a couple of years ago, I'm considering it in regards to the current market. I've also never been much of a fan of Ajazz, so perhaps my opinion is biased, but I'm being honest.
It's on my list but not yet scheduled, I've been super busy. I aiming for at least 4-5 videos a week, but not quite making the mark. I'll push it up the schedule but there are quite a few keebs ahead of it.
