As someone who grew up ‘smart’, I love the line ‘But I’d get too deep with that kind of mind, I don’t wanna know the point of life’ because it hits that struggle right on the nail. Also, I’d love for you to react to the rest of the TMM album! Most of it came out this Thursday and in my opinion, it’s their best yet!

AJR is a band of 3 brothers. Adam, Jack, and Ryan. Up until their newest album, every song they had ever written was recorded and completed in their living room. This one being their first studio production. Most of their music is about their life, what they’ve gone through, their parents divorce, growing up, becoming known as artists, etc. I personally love them a lot. This is the title song for their newest album that just came out yesterday, the video shows the lead singer Jack talking about how he wishes he could be all these things, but they all have a downside.. he wishes was a stone so that he wouldn’t have to feel, but he’d miss waking up and smiling. Wishing he had eyes in the back of his head so he could see the places he’s been, but then he would see all the people talking behind his back. Etc etc. this one was a big reference to other topics he’s covered in the past so that may be way you couldn’t quite get the feel for this one, AJR definitely has a unique sound, they don’t really sound like any one thing 😂 but I think they’re great, you should give some of their other songs a listen.

I definitely recommend checking out the rest of the album and some of their other earlier songs. They have one called Three Thirty where Jack actually addresses rapping in a way

The reason this song is negative is because the album is sort of based off their dad being sick and eventually dying, so it's almost an emotion dump of sad songs, all of them have a deeper meaning to them than their bubbly sounding tune.

I recommend listening to the whole the maybe man album
