As salam o alaikum. Thank you brother for an awesome video. I have a question. Even if we managed to have an ajwa tree? Will it fruit? How can we pollinate it? What can we do for it. Jazak allah. Thanks
Just to inform everyone that few things you need to know before planting date Palm. First since we usually eat commercial Verity mostly at store they are pollinated artificially. You need male and female both to have real date fruit. Very few are plant that have male female both. Second since most are artificially pollinated they will produce fruit which is neither of mother or father origin. Can be very good new Verity but usually is inferior to both. 40% seed produce females 60% male in a study done at date palm research institute Pakistan. It take about 8 year to produce fruit. 4 year before you know it's male or female. So provided all this info, usually a-sexual production methods are used to have a farm of known kind. Females plant and male both have pups or buds which are removed at age of 2 years. These are clones of mother. Ajwa the one we in Islam is strictly the date planted by Hazrat Muhammad pbuh so no all ajwa are same only few and mostly consumed within Saudia. There are some dates variety which are so good and they are not ajwa. I have more info but some other time I will write. Fruits grown from seeds generally are not 100% identical to mother plant like in mango, it needs grafting but don't stop growing from seeds eventually it will lead to new Verity which can be a game changer. Its Allah's mystery.
besides, it looks like the palms he planted are actually washingtonia, the fronds a fan-shaped, there’s some hairs on the fronds, and there’s fibres on the trunk.
Yea you can but it will take time more longer than germinate using tissue paper, because there is my date seed growing directly in soil, it takes 7 months to germinate a little root and when it start to have leaf it takes 12 months(1 year), so i don't recommend germinate date seed using soil, germinate using tissue paper.
Sir maine apke hi video dekh kar date plant grow kiye aur wo bahut ache chal rhe the lekin unke leaves jal jaa rhe hai fir naye leves aate hai aur unke tip jal jaa rhe h kya kare sir please help
If you're looking to use the palms as hedge plants, it's best to space them out three to six feet away from one another. However, if you plan to place the plants around other areas of the house, it's best to place them at least four feet away from any structures such as gutters, the home itself, driveways, etc.
