This is a tutorial on the new AK True Metal wax based paints. Here I show you how the True Metal paint looks on a model by just applying it on with just a brush.
OrcPainterNerd Welcome aboard mate, as you have probably noticed I don't do alot of war game painting on my channel, but if you look hard enough in some of the videos there are painted GW mini's floating around on the shelves in the background. Dark Angels and Orks.
Thanks for doing this video Just got the Aluminum and will test it out following your direction Like to see the copper and gold buff out to that shine Seems like good value for the volume
Thanks for the demo. Seen this stuff knocking about and always wondered if it was worth the hassle. Now I am thinking of using this for Necrons and/or Grey Knights as it would look awesome. For large surface areas such as tanks/aircraft do you think something like a dremel on low speed with a buff attachment would do a good job or would it just strip it all away ?
Was wondering mate, how do you wash over these paints? I heard you say you seal them first, what type of varnish is best M/S/G? And can you only use enamel washes on it, or can you use acrylic once it's sealed? Sorry about all the questions lol, thanks for the review it really helped!
AdeptusAstartes No problem at all, questions are good. I used Model Master metalizer sealer. It's a lacquer product.Once it's sealed you can use oil or acrylic, but don't use lacquer as it will react with the sealer.
bit of a noob here lol, just wondering your opinions on how well it takes both water based and oil based washes and weathering techniques, and how to to go about it after buffing. eg does it need sealing and so on first?
Now days I put it on last. As I don't seal my models once they are are completed. But to answer your question the metallic nature of this product doesn't seam to completely dry, and will still be easily removable when you touch it.
