AK Mags & Micro Rigs.

I am here because the 762 mags are not really working well. The thinner steel mags are not great at best, and thicker polymer mags are a no go. I do not recommend the Haley rigs in 5.56 inserts for 7.62 aks, maybe the 7.62 inserts would work nicer though.

I cant find a micro rig deep enough to hold my ak mags comfortably most of the magazine sticks out of the top making it difficult to kneel without then hitting my chest

If using a Micro-Rig like this, it's probably not the best to do a retention reload back into the micro rig. It would be best to stow the mag somewhere else, like a dump pouch.

Depends on the type of magazine pouch you use. If you are using a pouch that secures the mags via a velcro flap, that may be an option. However, with open top pouches like these, that typically does not work well because the bottom lip from the buttplate will prevent them from going in, or hang up as you are drawing the mag. Also, keeping the mags oriented bullets up in an un-covered pouch may not be the best idea depending on your purposes.

I don't have their rig, but in my experience, the HSP Micro (shown here) is about as small as you can get (width wise) and still fit three 7.62 AK mags. I believe this rig is a touch over 9 inches wide.

@@gungnirstrategic i only ask because i use the triple 556 inserts and they dont hold steel milsurp mags well at all. Are u using the velcro at the top of the pouch? Looks open in the video.

@@teckneekz9195 if you cut open the outer loops of the inserts and sew the ends so they dont ravel out you get a little more space while keeping the inserts functional just make sure to put them as low as possible so the tounge of the ak mags dont get caught inside
