Just received my AK operator DVD a few days ago, and finally had some time to watch a bit last night. Although I thought I was pretty familiar with AK's already, i'm still very glad that I bought this. Even just in an hour or so, I've already learned quite a few things, and I'm definitely looking forward to watching the rest. Just curious, are you guys planning on doing similar videos for other weapons systems like the G3, FAL, HK416, etc?
Can confirm this is a great set of videos. Very informative and well organized. The cleaning and maintenance section is zen. Made me look at chopsticks in a new way 😉
Who cares, it isn't like the Americans or Brits didn't use Germans to build rockets or improve jet engines, Schmeisser influence on the AK is nothing compared to what you've done with the help of Germans.
I personally don't own an AK, but would imagine this DVD is still good knowledge so if SHTF and I picked up a dropped AK-47, that I would have some knowledge on how to use it etc?
Shooting and fighting are two completely different things and just because you are good at one doesn’t make you good at the other. Mindset, tactics and skill in that order is what a competent instructor teaches...I’ve seen enough videos to know they are gun guys and they shoot a lot but that alone doesn’t qualify them to teach people how to win a gunfight...I would prefer to know who I’m getting that kind of information from before I could take it seriously.
IrishSavage87 Stress inoculation is indeed an important aspect of training but there needs to be a progression where skills/muscle memory learned are able to be applied under duress. Even with all that I've seen experienced Marines curl up unable to move when fired upon although they were fine many times before under similar circumstances. It's a crap shoot when it comes to actual "fighting".
What is this about malfunctions and need for training? You have the wrong room, my friend: the AR-15 class is two doors down. :P Yes, I'm being facetious.
