Nice little touch of symbolism I just noticed. At the beginning he's looking at three swords, two wooden, one steel. Then he fights three men, two cowards, one brave.
You see he refused the coin, implying he wanted to fight for the sake of it not for money. But fighting against certain death is not fun, that's why he refused to fight against a spear.
Hah! I like how the bad dude's acting all honorable by giving Fiore a longsword after his first breaks, but like, you know he just low-key doesn't want to fight a spear with a longsword.
Ai vist lo lop nanana... well, I hope you like this one. :) It was a pleasure and an honour to work with Rafał- I mean, Fiore and his gang. Thanks for inviting me to the set, guys!
I still can't believe how perfect this - and all your other videos are! Everything is top-notch: the fight choreography, the camerawork, the acting, the story, the music, the cinematography, even the selected quotes. I know it's a fictionalised version of Fiore, but I really see him come to life here
Why aren't you advising fight choreography on shows like Game of Thrones? xD Your sword duels are better than most of theirs! Please group these chapters into a single playlist for sharing so we can spread the word. Thanks
@@GrueneVanilleWaffel An Italian Swordmaster and Knight, born in the mid-14th century, in the province of Friuli. He wrote his knowledge down in eight sets of manuscripts in the early 15th century, by which time he had been on the Sword's Path for 50 years. Of the eight referenced, only four have been recovered.
The characterization of the Sword's Path as a smug German mercenary is quite nice :P. Also This has been said before But Rafal looks so cool wearing the full fiore outfit. You guys have done an excellent job popularizing Fiore's Art as well as Hema in general, and though I'm sad that this seems to be your last video on Fiore, I'm quite excited to see what you'll do next.
On that note, how does one cosplay as Fiore? Because I will, every day if I can. And when people ask me "What are you suppose to be?" I will show them this.
nah, not really. As allan points out in his channel, you can grab a Regenyei for like, 50 extra bucks or so, and they have far better quality than Hanwei's half assed chinese crap.
NightFury_BR I got a blunt and sharp Tinker in 2010 for around $200 American as a promotion. That was a good deal, but even now looking for a Regenyei, I see them at least $100 more than the Tinker. Maybe quality has dropped since 2010 on the Hanwei, but both of mine are good steel, light, quick, and responsive. The sharp cuts like a monster and the blunt has done everything I've asked of it in sparring. This is my experience, but perhaps others have not been so lucky.
That particular specimen was, in fact, not a very well-made sword intended for sparring. It had some serious construction issues due to craftmanship mistakes that made it particularly weak and prone to cracking. Every piece of metal has its breaking point, but if you accidentally overheat the hot spots for then quenching them you know it's going to be more fragile than usual. If none of that happened to your Hanwei TP, lucky you, just watch out for the moment when the breaking actually happens.
Man, I'm emotionally invested in green guy now. I hope he goes on to learn from his mistakes now that the master spared him twice, hahaha. This was such a cool series! I got so excited to see this in my inbox! :D (also, insert "end him rightly" joke here)
We're glad you like it :) We're thinking about making some other series, so who knows, maybe Kuba will have his revange. Well.. maybe not on Fiore, but we'll see...
@@propyro85 If he went on to study under Liechtenauer then he could go on to be one of the students who wrote glosses of the Zettel. Maybe he could star in a video where he travels back to Italy later in life and saves an old man from bandits/hired assassins, only to find out it's Fiore.
How did you do that, by the way? It LOOKS as though the blade actually broke. Or is that my imagination? Did you just remove the pommel and let the whole thing fly apart? It was really cool!
KomaruKirinashi It _did_ break spontaneously during a take. _The Sword's Path_ released that clip to talk about the breakage of that sword some time ago. You can tell by the actors' reactions that it wasn't planned, but they fit the scene in quite well, anyhow. :)
These videos are ABSOLUTELY amazing, so immersive and involving; the narrative is so flowy. Well done! And thank you for making these; they are super helpful!
I love Academias' videos and when I saw sword path in it, I knew this was going to be awesome. My favorite sword guys working together. Amazing job as always gentlemen.
You are great teachers, something similar to Czech swordsman school Digladior. They've also amazing huge amount of authentic historical acknowlage about old school swordsman teaching. 😀🤟
This was a real treat! I loved every second of it. Professional and entertaining stage fighting. On a personal note, being myself a Hungarian, I have huge respect for polish people and your beautiful country!
Most outstanding, for what seamless refinement of swordplay along with the wonderful perfection of all the other elements that were poured into it (the location, camerawork, music, fashion, basic story & swordfighting techniques!). Amazing, & superbly rendered! Would love to train with you guys someday, in every style that you are extremely proficient in (my preference would be as a 16th-17th century Scots Highlander, dressed in a traditional Clan kilt of that era all while wielding a Gaelic Broadsword, taking on a quintessentially garbed & armed German Landsknecht Doppelsoldner from about 1500!). Very inspirational!
Congratulations on a simply amazing video. I love how much of a story you've managed to tell in such a short time, together with a very compelling and still realistic coreography. Kind of reminds me of some of the best fight scenes from Asian cinema, but with that HEMA take on it. Love it!
Całkiem profesojnalnie zrobiony film, jestem pod wrażeniem. Sceny walki lepsze niż w niejdnej hollywoodzkiej produkcji. Aż mam ochotę zacząć uczyć się szermierki. :-) Macie nowego sybskrybenta.
My heart literally skipped a beat when I saw you produced a new video. Fantastic!!! I hope this isnt the last we see of Fiore. Guys a legend! Question for those who practice: Fiore vs Lichtenauer, which style is better? Are they equal? I ask because I want to practice, and I love Fiore and the way he fights/teaches, but I also hear alot about Lichtenauer
Very proud to be a friulano as Fiore "Furlano" dei Liberi was. Great series of videos, indeed! Please make a full movie with the full story of Fiore. With your skills in cinematography and swords choreography it will be awesome!
Courage is ones ability to do what is right, what is smart. This is done in conjunction with one's rectitude. This means having the strength to back down from an impossible fight, or putting your life on the line when right.
Amazing work guys. Really enjoy it! Id like to know which song was used or remixed it sounds like its same as the ones you used before but remade! epic music
That was incredible. It's good that you made the entire fight realistic, believable, and so its actually heroic when the one man wins by earning it and not a deus ex machina. Movie, TV, history documentary, and video game makers should consult you.
Getting better. However, I hope you now understand and appreciate the magic of cinematography. As real as your swordsmanship is, I do hope you are able to adapt it to the big screen and give us a legendary show. Good luck, I enjoy your work!
незнаю, сможет ли Рафаль, или Алан прочитать мой коментарий, но парни, вы молодцы это просто шедевр, я плачу от радости, что фехтование сохранилось в руках этих парней, они лучшие, продолжайте в том же духе!!!
The Sword's Path
You guys do an amazing job of bringing Fiore to life. Is there any chance you'd do something similar for Fiore's dagger techniques? So many demonstrations look stiff and unrealistic, but you'd probably do it justice.
Hi Guys. Could you please do some more of these videos? What would also be really helpful is a series of shorter videos explaining the plays and counters. Keep up the awesome work guys. Cheers
Already like this when the dude grab the polearm from the squire, I'm sure with a higher budget and a better camera work this could ended up one of the best sword fight in media history! Well done!
