@@yehua3412 bruh thats Akane's potrayal as Ai and that is almost sounds like the real Ai. If you want 100% Ai voice in that scene they will using Rieri voice instead. Manaka Iwami did amazing and you're dissapointed? I'm glad you're not part of the casting team

The manga potrayed it better. her vibe and tone of voice should be spot on.. if you check akane seiyuu's porfolio you will notice that the character she always potrays are the timid type while in reiri's case is almost all emcompassing so i judge that akane's va. Is too green as in lacking in experience in that department. I did not say its bad its just did not meet my expectations. you will never understand how impactful should it be, it should never be about the star eyes, it should have been about her mannerism that that give it impact.

The fact that her deductive and analysis skill is so good that she's able to interpret Ai not how she was in the stage, but how she was behind the scenes is both scary and shocking, Akane was able to show something that not even the public knew about Ai, something that only those close to her (her kids and the producer) knew. She IS a genius at acting, dedicating into studying the character in the most insignificant details and even guessing things that weren't showed.

@@jaypride1336 I expect her skill is probably going to have a huge pay off later but I was more concerned with how fast that research work escalated. On the back of my head, the producer(o director? I forgot who Aqua talked to) has insider info on Ai and could easily be on the side of whoever's the villain in the series. And since this show is type that can easily take another 180 turn in split second, it can be that scary to watch.

Fun fact: akane form of acting might recognize people as method acting/becoming one with the character(christian bale,gary oldman, heath ledger to name the few method actors) but akane doing the stanislavski theatre method/experiencing thru acting

I just love how this show is using the fact that Aqua sees Ai as a ''perfect idol'' to make another ''talent from birth is generally bullshit'' argument. He doesn't realize that the perfect personality that Ai has is probably something that she worked hard for, it's partially fabricated. And Akane just showed him that. Furthermore, he doesn't realize this also applies to him,. He always talks about how he ''has not talent blah blah he's not like Ai'' when he's CLEARLY skilled but he doesn't really believe it because he's not a ''natural'' like Ai. I like when a show has its own take on hardwork vs talent and the fact that this show about idols is using extreme idolization for that is so cool to me. (maybe this is not the intention of the author but it's my interpretation and it makes sense in my head lol)

Oh, 100%. Look at what Ai thinks about in episode 1, just before the baby wotagei - the way she practices and calculates every facial expression down to the millimeter. You can even look at her comment about looking cute for a concert audience vs. just the camera as the same sort of production awareness Aqua excels in. The way Gotanda scolded him in episode 2, this episode having him scoff at the notion of capturing Ai’s magic and then be completely gobsmacked by Akane - yeah, the story knows exactly what it’s doing here.

Honestly, I loved the way that you put, don't know if it is the author's intention as well but I also took it that way. Aqua idolizes Ai in such a way that it becomes unhealthy and makes him think that he's not good enough, when compared to her obviously he'll never be. She's just so good at deceiving anyone's eyes because she passed almost all of her life lying about everything in herself, especially her emotions, so it's not from birth, it's from doing it literally everyday.

I mean I kind of think it is less a talent vs. hardwork thing and more like Aqua idolizes Ai a lot and it gets in the way of him reading her. Aqua has said before he doesn't have the raw talent Ai did as an actress and the story seems to support that. But that he can get away with it because he is smart enough to understand how to maximize what he is given to give a stellar performance. So I think this scene is saying a couple of things. One being showing that Aqua idolizes her enough that it actually hampers his ability to understand her. Two being that Akane is a acting god with amazing skill to pull off such a excellent emulation. Which is exactly what Aqua needs if he wants to understand Ai.

that was a very unexpected ending. I was expecting the usual "girl falls for her saviour" anime trope but we got something way more interesting instead. Also i find it funny that aqua thinks no one can imitate ai and it's something you have to be born with when in reality we know that ai's entire idol look is a facade and a act

I want to say that no only is Akane a talented actress for being able to mimic Ai perfectly, the voice actress for Akane which is Manaka Iwami is able to mimic the verbal expressions and intonations of Ai's voice actress Rie Takanashi so well I had to do a spit take. I almost thought that when Akane was turning into Ai, the animation studio got Rie Takanashi to voice that one bit, but then I realized nope it's Manaka Iwami. She's just that good. I got chills. That's just how good the production of this anime is.

I kinda agree with what you said about it might cut a little close to him. Not that I think he'll lash out, but this episode was just subtly sad in the ways you could tell Aqua was still carrying his trauma, even when he never brought it to the forefront. Obviously everyone means well, and it was an accident how things went, but it's just really sad when you think about him having to see a living recreation of his dead mom right in front of him. I dunno, especially with the way he puts her up on a pedestal and says she can't be imitated... it's almost like... Akane understands his mom better than he ever did. That look at the end isn't just surprise, it looks like it's really pained to me.

Bruh, Akane is by far my favourite character in the story, i even started to pay more attention to theater after reading certain chapters of the manga. I doubt we'll see much more of her mad skills this season since we're in ep 7 already, but i'm so hyped for season 2.

The part about her always knowing where cameras are is just her being aware of her surroundings always. Same. Last episode started with her saying she'd quit the show and it turned out to be "fake", BUT she confessed she actually was feeling a bit sad and was thinking of quitting. I think Yuki is indeed competitive and ambitious to get spotlight for herself so she can be manipulative for that BUT she is not a malicious person. She does care for people around her in her own way and she is open to listen. I am not sure but maybe Yuki is more like aware if it ended with the 'slap', she knows the staff may air it for the drama/conflict/rating so she 'made' the hugging scene even though they may not air it, well, just in case (she made it but I think she truly meant what she said to Akane in a way). At the end, if the scene can be shown, she knows the scene benefits for BOTH her and Akane anyway. I think the hugging/reconciliation scene plays quite a big role for the edit video they posted. If the edit video only showed the photos, it may give reason for those irrational haters to say like "those photos were BEFORE the slap incident, but AFTER the incident Akane did hurt Yuki. Period". Among the casts "Love Now", I like how it seems no one intended to hurt anyone, it's like they portray the casts truly as teenagers who are still figuring things out, not like the bad guys. This arc purely wants to show that the casts have no problem with each other but the INTERNET (netizens) making it as if they have problem with each other. This is just opinion so far, it may change~cmiiw

0:24 Dudes.....I just realized the possible alternative to this moment. Can you imagine what would happen to Aqua if he was half a second late?!?!?!? After having seen his Idol and mother stabbed to death, and realizing his father, a fellow performer, who was the only person to ever have Ai at her most vulnerable, orchestrated her murder, could have later watched his coworker, a teenage girl, fall to her death, by her own choice..... reborn adult or not, I can not comprehend how fuuuuuucked up he would end up!!! I'm glad he saved this adorable, hard-working, sweet gal, but the beginning of this episode could have totally and completely broken our MC. I know I'd probably snap and end up vegatative if I had that happen in front of me. I've always enjoyed thinking up alternative paths for fiction works. ヽ(￣▽￣)ノ

There will be no spoiler in my comments. So, I watched other reaction of Oshi no Ko in which the reactor is an actual psychologist. I was so flabbergasted by the fact that most of the guy's prediction of Ai's character as "problematic" was basically what specifically Akane mentioned in this episode during her research. That just shows how capable and scary Akane is in character immersion if she exists irl.

*The reason they take longer on a shot showing Aqua's eyes seems to be to show the color of the star.* It's actually something that is emphasized in the manga too. The color seems to indicate Aqua's current mental state. It's white like Ai's and Ruby's when he's hopeful or black when he's in a darker state. *EDIT:* Let's gooo!!! Been waiting for Akane to show what she got. I love Kana all the way, but when it comes to acting she's THE badass :D

This ep hit the spot for me. Ep 1 was the prologue, but the 5 eps following that seemed to be missing something.. I realized its because this is the episode that Aqua's main journey actually starts. The "inciting incident" in story terms. Except it typically happens within ep 1 or possibly 2 when there isnt some 4-5 episode prologue. Ignoring the prologue episode, it took about 5 eps to get Aquas inciting incident lol 😂 Not that the setup was bad or anything.. but i did feel like we werent in the thick of Aquas journey. So far im feeling like maybe this show wouldve been better released in all just extended movie episodes like ep 1. That way ep 2 couldve ended with this and like yah, ep 3 would be like the official start
