I was chatting with the guy who was responsible for K361 and K361BT. He said the Bluetooth module occupied so much space which change the sound signature. They could only do as much compensation as possible.
wow man your reviews are really amazing i can actually hear what your talking about in the demos you make instead of relying on how someone describe the sound, you work is amazing and very appreciated not a hype train just honesty, info and realistic demos that i can actually tell the difference, thank you very much for making these videos.
@@vfifty9182 i joined his patreon and he does do headphone reviews as well as all his videos.my first pareon ever is oluv and im sure he has so much to offer there than in RU-vid due to the youtube copyright bs.

Thank you for another great review Oluv! Agh, sad to hear this. I took another gamble and got these a little while ago for versatility (closed back for digital piano and BT). Though I like them better, I did not notice any significant audio improvement over the mixcder e10 for either situation (similar closed back, around ear, BT, and similar price range). I should've taken your advice and just settled with the regular AKG K361's. You're the best, keep up the great work!
How does the wired K361 sound with a bluetooth receiver like a BTR3K or a Qudelix K5? That would be a better way to judge how bad the bluetooth version is. That way you can check if the tuning is different or the bluetooth amp is crap. As someone below has pointed out, stuffy additional circuitry in the driver housings is bound to mess it up. Couldn't the circuitry be stuffed in the headband or something?
All the patreons are lucky to be honest they get exclusive videos live chats etc. oluv is the best audio review channel i have ever seen. i think the hard work that goes into the audio samples need to be monetised tbh. if i had an audio related company i would want him to be a part of the engineers tuning my products. yes he might not provide wallpapers of anime girls with huge "TransmITterS" but oluvs terminator voice makes up for it.
Hi Oluv, Love your videos and i appreciate the help you provide. Im looking for headphones and i just love the sound of the original k361 especially for the price but i also like the convenience of having Bluetooth. Well the k361bt is not an option because of the huge difference with the original model so i was wondering if you have in mind any other pair with similar great sound both on Bluetooth and wired. Closed back with around 200€. How about the shure Aonic 50?
A bit off topic but, based on yours and other reviews I bought a Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 ohm version. And i must say, it's a pleasure to listen to every day :)
@@oluvsgadgets Do you mean to stuff foam in the back-venting ports? If so, is the goals to reduce airflow or pretty much stop it all together? I've heard you mention the mod previously to reduce treble slightly if I remember correctly.
HI Oluv, i know it's a bit of stretch to ask here but are you planning to do a review on something like the Audio Technica AD900x or any other models of the AT air series?
I got the k361 based on your recommendation and it's probably been the best investment I've made in a long while. I wear these phones anywhere from 4-10 hours a day and they never get uncomfortable, hot or sweaty. Nice neutral sound signature, can be shouty depending on the music i listen to but overall there are atleast in my opinion no better headphones in the under 100€ range.
@@mayanksahu8644 well after so long i wore the pads out completely and havent found any decent replacements yet, but they still get used every day pretty much
Hi Oluv, hab mir vor Kurzem die Beyerdynamic TYGR gekauft. Angeblich wie die DH990 (hab ich nie gehört) aber nicht so scharf in den Höhen. Vielleicht auch einen Test wert? Gruß
Just picked these up for 100! Small EQ tweak and it sounds exactly like the wired model. Couldn't be happier with this. Other headphones at this price range doesn't even come close to this sound quality. Thanks for the great video!
Hi there, great video. Just wanted to know what music you are playing in this. Couldn't understand because of the accent but that's my problem. Thank you for your work. The BT does sound muddy.
Correct me if I'm wrong here but... when using the in-ear mics, this shows the effects of your pinna and concha, but not the additional ear gain that's responsible for the normal elevation we see in raw graphs on a standardized rig. Were you using some kind of compensation here to normalize the Harman target for only pinna and concha effects? Or if not, why should we want this to measure flat then? Maybe I missed that part.
These measurements are compensated (DF compensated, I think). The ear and concha gain you talked about are present, because instead of using an ear simulator to produce theses effects, he is using his own real ear and concha. This technique is called MIRE (Microphone in Real Ear).
@@Gatominobaldo Yeah so I actually have the same in-ear mics to test and compare with the GRAS rig. But this is why I'm a bit confused about this measurement in particular, because it's pretty interesting if he indeed did create a compensation for just pinna and concha effects. But I'm also unsure of A) how he did this without devising it in conjunction with a standardized rig, and B) the measurement doesn't actually look like it was compensated (I could be wrong about this though). This may also explain why it shows there's a significant dip in the upper mids but he doesn't hear it that way. In general, this stuff is quite interesting and I'd like to learn more about the process he's using.
@@ResolveReviews I understand your point. I saw this upper mids dip in other measurements, but I don't remember if they were so deep. Perhaps the dip is higher with the oluv measurement compared to standards because of the peculiarities of his hearing, with this method. PS: Some friends from a group here in Brazil highly your channel. I saw that the last video was 9 months ago. Will you continue with the reviews and use measurements with GRAS?
My compensation is tuned by ear. The target is the Sennheiser HD600 with Sonarworks profile. My goal is to make the recorded/measured headphones sound exactly the same through my reference as I hear them in real life.
Hi, Oluv. I have a suggestion for you to test: Sennheiser HD300 PRO. If you take a look at its measurements in Sonarworks, you will see that it is quite "neutral" in general. It seems to be a great option for closed back headphone.
@@justme7920 thank you, I just got genuine 2 pairs from eBay for a great price. Will have to test them myself, I'm just hoping they're better than earpods.
@@Alejandro-du6vq earpods are not iem’s. These are iem’s, get a good fit inside your ear using the hybrid tips. Bit bassy but still great. What seller did you get them from?
@@oluvsgadgets is it really crap though? There are some others who have praised both extremely highly and they are pretty affordable... what do you recommend then for mixing and mastering music on a budget then?
In this price range the German independent consumer magazine Stiftung Warentest recommends Sony CH700N. The plastics are a bit squeaky when moving the jaw but I really like them and they even got decent ANC.
For BT, haven't heard K361, the M50X have some right Ch white noise and don't sound as good as wired M50X. For closed wired I rather take DT770-250 with some mods. More comfortable, pads are velour not fake leather that flake after 2 yrs of heavy use. If I only knew before... For cheap wired there are better choices than M50 or K361. HD600/6XX is my kind of a baseline. And they don't make noises when moving head around.
A good and honest review. In my opinion Bluetooth headphones have still not at the same standard, compared to wired. I still love my AKG K702's. I will buy the wired version of the AKG K361, on the strength of this review. I only wish that AKG headphones were made in Austria instead of China.
When the foam and plastic on my AKG 240 broke up I briefly looked around for a new alternative. Little range to pick from in the local shops. Asked AKG about refurbishing mine. They gave me the address of someone who did this for more than the cost of a new pair of AKG 240 but well worth the spend. I did look for bluetooth and noise cancelling but found a dongle to plug the 3.5mm jack into so I can use my Sony wired ear buds, AKG headphones on on ear Uher.
ich hatte schon immer das problem "kopfhörer" ich hatte viele und war nie so ganz glücklich. während meine freunde happy mit 5euro kaufland kopfhörer sind suche ich bis zu meinem lebensende ^^
My man, you can’t do a review on a pair of Bluetooth headphones using the ancient iPhone 6. The Bluetooth module is so outdated there, of course the sound will be crap.
how sound transformations look like: studio mics & studio room layout -> studio EQ and mixing -> Spotify mp3/aac compression -> bluetooth compression -> binaural mics -> mp3 compression on youtube -> 44.1/48 transformation on your sound card -> your headphones
