She was DJing for Haruomi Hosono's latest act in NYC last year, not many knew who she was unfortunately, and she was mixing some ambient stuff that I'm not sure if it was her music or not, but she definitely wasn't playing this. If she did, I'd have jammed the fuck out lol.
I have a story to share about her. So she used to date Haruomi Hosono back in the day... I didn't know that until recently. In NYC, Haruomi did a show in 2019, which I went to. It would have been nice to know they were also making music together back then, many songs which were great while they were together. She was DJing there, apparently, she does experimental music these days, and I didn't realize I may've heard her music in some city pop mixes. I didn't like what she was DJing at the show, yet it wasn't bad either, however; I kept saying "who is this woman, and where's Hosono" since my ears were ready for some folk music and not Electronic music, somewhat loudly by accident enough to bother her. There were crickets when she was done, I guess everyone felt the same way. I love Electronic music, very much with a large collection, but I wasn't really there for that. Still feel bad, if I had known how amazing her music was , I'd have praised her at the time.
