Try to listen to this while standing in bussy street or metro station or anywhere where alot of movement of society is going on, especially with cars involved for better rythm that matches song.
i read the entire manga once, i saw the movie at least 10 times. Now all i need is the freaking collectibles to this movie and i can be considered a die hard fan because THIS IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE.
I have the collectibles. Not the boxed set of kaneda and his bike but all the figures and even a replica jacket of kaneda. Join the club dude. It's fun as fuck over here
my favorite part about Toonami on Adult Swim is that every December they show movies and Akira happens to be one of my favorite movies so I literally wait an entire year just to watch Akira the wait is worth it
***** the first time i saw this movie, i was shocked, i couldn't even get the plot, yet it was a very satisfying sensation, now as an adult, this is still my favorite movie, the story is so cool, and the soundtrack made it even more, the characters are amazing, the design of drawing of all the movie is superb, still to these days, an unbeatable movie
+Nicolas Silva I saw it nearly 20 years ago when i was 14 on video after hearing good things of it in magazines, movie books, movie review books and the internet as i rented it and dug it. I even had the Criterion laserdisc, VHS, t-shirts, cap, graphic novels (which i still own), poster and all that as it became one of my favorite movies.
You must check Geinoh Yamashirogumi - Gaia album (1990). Track "Disco" blow up my mind!!! I now very surprised that anime AKIRA don't have this track! Anyway, album is absolutely brilliant!!!
For many people, this film (and manga) is basically ground zero, where the love affair with Japan began. It certainly was for me. The music, the bikes, the what-the-fuck-is-going-on atmosphere, the megacity about to e-x-p-l-o-d-e... For that reason, it will always be special. That, and also because it's fucking awesome.
kissanime.com if your fan of anime, or cartoons this is best place to go, and yeah thwy have akira too, and the voice is the original, compared to the new early 90's and 2000 dub, and they have dubs too, not like crappy crunchy roll :( And it plays on consoles too, you need use html rather than flash, as flash not supported on consoles, because microsoft and sony like to own things.
Akira wasn't created by Studio Ghibli, even so, Akira is a fuckin masterpiece and Studio Ghibli will be remembered as, maybe, the best and most deep animation studio ever
+Mal Anderson You know all the new anime that get uploaded onto to Kiss comes directly from Crunchyroll, but it's at a lower visual quality then CR. smh
I WISH I could show you guys my foreams. Goosebumps all the way through. Akira was such a big deal for us when I was a kid. This year makes Akira 28 years old and it STILL competes with today's animation movies. Just like the Mona Lisa and the Sistine Chapel, Akira will always be top tier.
Blaevy Apparently, Nolan was attached to the project at some point in some unknown capacity. He has shown the ability to understand source material; and he's a very visual director, something that could mesh quite well with the style of the original movie.
I love how on Wikipedia's Akira live action page they say they're looking to cast someone "of any ethnicity", yet all the frontrunners are Caucasian white males.
+Yonzo Rikuo Yes, That's Instrument made by Bamboo. Jegog is the typical instruments of western bali (Jembrana) and the other area in bali didn't have JEGOG! 😊😊😊
Just a perfect fit for Japan as a whole with just the right choice of instruments. I've been to Tokyo. It really is a megatropolis fitting of this theme.
I've lived my life in the valleys I've lived my life on the hills I've lived my life on alcohol I've lived my life on pills But it's called love And it belongs to us It's called love And it's the only thing that's worth living for It's called love And it belongs to us It's called love Yes it's called love The pills and love are for Kaneda
TheDrunkenmaster17 I haven't been able to stop watching it since that dunkey vid. Now I'm on this trippy late-80's/90's anime kick watching this, GITS, Apple Seed, Blood Reign, dunkey why did you do this to MEEEEE
I was just listening to a totally different track called 'Djed' by the band Tortoise, and it reminded me of this track that I had to come listen to it to make sure that was it.. The Tortoise track is 20 minutes long and the part around 11:45 has this particular sound.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lYatqE7OA1Q.htmlm45s
Bradford Thornton I actually just re-watched the film this past weekend. It still holds up very well and I have the Blu-ray version with the Ultra HD. The hand drawn animation of old anime is sadly missing and it just makes me hate modern stuff more and more because it all looks so cheap and filler...
+KetteDerWelten I watched it earlier today and heard the "kaneda theme" bamboo percussion's are from Bali. However i couldn't find the exact instruments on Google. So i was just asking if anyone would know the name. Maybe it's "modified" instrument. But thanks nonetheless.
hay un vídeo editado de esta pelicula que va acompañado de una buena música de rock, la pantalla miniatura es de Caneda caminando hacia a su moto, me pueden decir cual es? era una musica que iba bien con las escenas.
