ive never heard these played live before (never bothered to watch them till now) but i cant help but realize just how hauntingly beautiful the music is when done live like this especially white noiz and forest just...wow,makes me a tad jelly that i haven't ever seen one of his concerts- the music has always been beautiful but something about these live ones hit different and i cant quite place why but i love it
i think it's cool how musicians more talented than me can take their music, know which parts are the memorable bits, and keep them the same live, but then improvise around them.
Seeing Akira Yamaoka live playing SH2 soundtrack is a dream, i hope there will be concerts in the future, and who knows, maybe there will be new silent hill games... hopefully :)
@@catzilla1616 I had no idea he was still doing Silent Hill related stuff. If only concerts were still a thing-- I'd give my left ovary to see him play live. Thanks for the upload.
I'm gonna comment again after revisiting this, so fight me if you don't like it. The remix of Betrayal kinda slapped me in the face, because it's actually my favorite song in the entire series, and perhaps my favorite song ever. I have it willed into the playlist of my funeral! But hearing this iteration, it almost sounds like something went _wrong._ In my mind, I always envisioned it as a choir heralding high enlightenment, or even heaven in death. But how it's strangely drawn out here, it sounds painful. Like paradise withheld, or denied. Am I making any sense? I know this is all deeply personal, so it's difficult to explain.
when do they play betrayal in the video exactly? edit: found it and totally agree with you. I think since this is a live concert they probably felt it would be a good idea to replace the rumbly drums in the original with live ones. I also noticed they changed the original sound design on nearly all the original tracks by adding some more pads, fx and stuff. Not a fan of this as well but what you gonna do lol, this is all live and they need to show that they're actually doing something and are not just pressing "play " on the ableton live)
@@djapathy8967 It starts 1:16:38 I'm glad they added a few things. It's fun to see Yamaoka improvising. Kind of disappointing that this audience seems so stoic. If I was there, I'd be having a dancing fit so hard, they'd have to call paramedics.
I believe the main issue here is the guy on keyboards… he tries so hard to fit in every song that sometimes his arrangements doesnt even make sense from a musical perspective. Edit: This guy thinks the concert is some kind of crazy jazz competition omg I will not listen to this anymore… left it at 32:55
