Gorgeous amd powerful dog but this is an American Akita not a Japanese Akita Inu. The color/face pattern you see in this growing pup is what you call self mask meaning the phenotype appearance is the same color as the rest of the body the dog is still heterozygous/carrier for a melanistic mask. This is a very uncommon feature in this breed but did does happen/appear from time to time.
