I fitted my new Akrapovic Exhaust to my MT07 and could not get the baffle out. I tried everything from videos I viewed online with no joy. After doing some research, I was told that an internal Bearing Puller would work. So after buying one from amazon, i gave it ago. Please see the video to see how it worked out.

Dude. Thank you. I just did this with my Akra. Was a bit more difficult than I still expected even with the tool, but I still managed to get it out and let the bike sing.

I just bought a 2019 MT-07 with this exhaust on it. I'm here to see if I can get the baffle back in after ordering it online. This pipe is LOUD without the baffle. anything above 4k rpms and it is screaming. And I'm a guy that rode a big cruiser with LOUD pipes on it. I'm glad my earbud rides in my right ear playing music while I'm riding. That makes the ride much better. but, my neighbors hate the bike and let's just say HOA's suck.

I’m in the same boat as you just brought a mt07 with no baffle in this exhaust and is way to loud just ordered one on eBay to fit to make this bike more quiet. how did fitting it go ? Any tips for me ?

Thnx alot, tried everything without succes and then i stumbled on your video.. Ordered that thing from the UK and got it out in 10 seconds.

Did you have to detach the exhaust to unscrew the screw that he mentions in the beginning?

@@RobbeYT Yes, just the slipon part offc. You will have to take it off. Putting it back is quite annoying tho. For me atleast. Gotta fit it perfectly.

@@MotoRuse Thank you for your response. With the slipon part do you mean the carbon fiber colored small cover thingy? Just making sure I don’t have to detach the whole Akrapovic exhaust to unscrew one screw, as I don’t have any experience on working with exhausts.

@@RobbeYT No, the slipon is the big can on the end, U take the whole thing off. Then take off the carbon fiber thing. But u can leave the front part of the exhaust in place.It's really easy tho. It's just annoying to put it right back into place. But im sure u could do it. :)

For anyone wondering: This video is the BEST solution to remove this baffle / DB killer. I spent hours trying to get this out until I found this video. I ran to Harbor Freight and bought the “ Slide Hammer And Bearing Puller Set” with expanding dies and it took about 30 seconds and it was out! My MT-07 went from lane Jetson’s sounding exhaust to “piss the neighbors off”. Love it!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! Fantastic solution!

it is impossible to reach the bolt without removing the exhaust, it is on the table, but how you unscrew it is not in the video

How does this work with insurance? If I declare it has full akrapovic exhaust (but not the baffle removed) , if I crash am I fu#£ed?

Yeah I tried this (in the US, our exhaust db killer doesnt have as big of a gap as yours does) and still hasnt worked. I even drilled the hole where the spot weld was, the bearing puller is on super tight but just keeps slamming out after a few takes. I'm out of ideas. Fuck.

@@Neeko_Z I gave up, I didn't want to risk damaging such an expensive exhaust. So I've been riding around with just the DB killer in, and it still sounds great.

@@TofuProductionCinema If the bearing puller is slipping out then it simply isn't on tight enough. In my case atleast, i had to have it in so tight that the baffle metal was warping around it. It's a pain in the ass, but it is so worth it. Still sounds good with the baffle in though i agree.

Do u need some kind of ECU flash after that or it'll work just fine?

It works fine, although a ECU flash would make it slightly smoother I imagine.

Probably shoulda ecu flashed when you got the whole exhaust system anyways

As per Akrapovic, you do not need a Tune or ECU reflash. But the way I see it, is these bikes are lean from factory to meet emission standards. So you're adding a more free flowing exhaust which will make your bike run even leaner/hotter? Do it right, get a tune. Your bike will run smoother.

Hi, yes it will do to pass exhaust noise test. Easy to do though.

I have indeed put it back in, for commuting it’s a bit uncomfortable. For a weekend blast I take it out occasionally as the noise is incredible.

Does the bike "NEED" the db killer to run properly? i've heard it could damage the engine without the correct exhaust pressure....

Well, the baffle really is like a mixture for the air fuel ratio. It's why with this exhast you don't need a tune, but if you remove the baffle you might run lean.

@@Near2Future How does removing the baffle affect air fuel ratios? To my understanding air fuel ratios are predetermined by the ECU then applied into the motor. Exhaust just disperses the gases out of the cylinder. I could see there potentially being backpressure issues but that's really it.

I tried this. The spot weld is out, the baffle moves a little bit then gets stuck again. Been slamming it for half an hour. Edit: nvm, the previous owner had bent the exterior exhaust wall in a bit which was stopping it. Bent it back and gave it another 5 tugs and it was out.
