MT-07 Akrapovič Euro 4 Exhaust DB killer removal 

Jesus man, that sounds like a disaster! There was no catalytic converter in mine, I was supposed to order it and put it in myself which I didn't... Glad you got it sorted in the end man! It really is crazy loud but addictive!

That isn’t right .. its not even close to the cat. + you might just have ruined your warrenty and made your bike illegal since it’s probably supposed to be Euro4 which it isn’t anymore.

I have made my own slide hammer and it won't budge. Have even split the can and tried hitting it from the inside. I don't know what to do now. Where exactly was yrs stuck?

Yeah, it does take it's sweet time but my god the results are worth all the frustration haha! Glad you managed it in the end! :)

I've ridden with the baffle removed for a couple weeks, and honestly i think baffle in is the way to go. Videos don't do it justice to how loud it is without the baffle. Can't even accelerate to 10km/h without deafening those around you. Still sounds good with the baffle in and won't piss your neighbors off.

Yeah the vibes are real! The wheels and the whole bike is filthy haha, needs a good clean!

Yeah I've been debating on whether or not to modify the baffle and put it back in with a few holes drilled in it but I'll see if I get any complaints without the baffle first.

Hey man! I used a small measuring tape to measure the distance on the outside and the distance on the inside and then marked it so I knew where to drill!

Finally a nice noise that the bike deserves to have!

Nice man, they're a great bike and a great exhaust! Haha, the long journeys can be very loud, that's for sure! I'm probably going to leave it out, I bought ear plugs a while back, they're a big help. If I am going to put the dB killer back in I will make a video but for now it's staying out! :)

Did you managed to get it out in the end without actually breaking the spot weld?

@@LuckyLukeRides Got my fingers out eventually 😂 but no I left it in. My pipe didn't have a carbon fibre cover.

I'd imagine that it would sound the same but once it's out I'm not sure how you'd put it back in & keep it there!

how is he fixed in euro 3? because there is no weld to keep it there?

I think on the Euro 3 you just need to pull and hope for the best haha! There's a few videos on RU-vid if you have a look!

Lucky Luke Rides I guess you only have to fit a screw through the muffler into the dB eater and Secure it with a nut. The problem with that is since its a euro 4 exhaust a removable eater is not allowed so it shouldnt be too obvious or to big.

Hey man, I actually had the whole system off before I took out the baffle! That way I had no restrictions! :)

Mine is out aswell, the carbon fiber can definitely stand the heat, thats why its there. :)

The Carbon fibre is taking the heat no problem so far man :)

Hey man, I'm sure you could drill it in such a way that you could put a screw in place to hold it back in. I haven't tried that though!

I've got all my mods done now man, fender eliminator and all! :) I have my bike mapped for Full Akra and DNA air filter but I didn't specify if the dB killer was out when mapping. I'm not sure if it'll make a massive difference.

Have you got a video on your dna filter pls ?

There's no exact mark amongst the scratches, I just measured the distance from the spot weld to the edge of the exhaust and then did the same thing on the outside to try line it up. I luckily got it first time but once you're in and around the spot weld it should break it. I'm sure it would be possible to thread the hole to make the db killer an option but I'm happy leaving it out.

You already drilled a hole into it, so why not just put a little bolt in there so it wont fall off. The bolt will be covered by the carbon shield on the outside ( i guess)

Yup full system man! I actually haven't tuned it yet but I'm going to do it within the next week because I'm getting a lot of pops and backfiring. Sounds nice but probably isn't good for the bike! No car alarms yet haha, looking forward to that happening though!

Hey man, if you take it out and just put it back in, it will fall out while riding. If you really wanted to you could use a screw and use that to keep it in place. I haven't tried that though!

Nice man! Prepare to hear the bike come alive haha! I've had no regrets to be honest. It is VERY LOUD, I need to invest in a good pair of ear plugs. I guess it could annoy neighbours at night/early in the morning but even with the DB killer in, it'll still wake people up haha! I haven't put it back in and I don't plan on it because I just love the sound.

I haven't noticed any change in fuel consumption after flashing the ECU.

I'm not 100% sure man. It would be strange if they didn't include the baffle as it's pretty much a legal requirement. You're better off just waiting to see when it arrives what they sent you!

It was a slow enough process man, especially with the fact the exhaust is curved so I just used a drill hole marker to get a good starting point. If I remember correctly I used a cobalt drill bit, but I can't be 100% sure to be honest. It was a while ago that I did this, sorry man!

@@slameyally4175 Here in the Republic of Ireland bike's don't actually go through any MOT. We have the NCT (National Car Test) but they only test cars. Bike law is a very grey area here haha.

Only downside is when buying used bikes here, lads will say they've been using them daily etc. but they might've been in the back of a shed for the last 10 years but recently restored haha. Yeah, I might see if I can get a video recorded of putting the baffle back in! It'll involve taking off the exhaust again which is a pain but I'll see if I can get it done. Yeah, I think it would be possible to thread a bolt through the baffle and the muffler to put it back in. I'm not sure how you would go about doing that though. I'm leaving mine out haha ;)

If you can see the little spot weld like you can in the video then I'd say you're still able to remove it!

@@J4mstr There's no other way to put it but you'll need some time and elbow grease. Try using a vice grips and a towel to grab the baffle, spray a bit of WD-40 around and then tap the vice grips with a rubber mallet & it should start to come out slowly but surely!

Lucky Luke Rides Man what a journey.. I ended up going to a mate who’s a metal worker. We built a custom slide hammer to expand exactly to the baffle’s diameter - took a day to make. Came out in 3 hits once it was done though!

Hey SpiNz pal! I'm with Liberty! Was with Carole Nashe but back to Liberty now again as they were cheaper for the MT-07.

I'm loving the MT-07 man, it's got plenty of power, really nimble, great commuter and actually is a lot taller than I thought it would be but I doubt it would be as big as the Tracer or the VSTROM.

Hey man, you'd probably need to put a screw through the hole in the dk killer and the exhaust to hold it in place. I've never tried it haha. I actually chucked the thing into the bin after a while as I'm never going to need it!

Lucky Luke Rides son on a scale from 1-10 how loud is it and is the sound comfortable or too loud?

@@motschii It's around 8/10 I'd say. It's a bit uncomfortable on long distances at high speed but I usually listen to music if I'm riding on motorways

@@LuckyLukeRides Ah makes sense, i tried to pull off the muffler but it just gets stuck on the tire. Would have to bend the pipe down to uncomfortable levels to get it off.

@@LuckyLukeRides Managed to get it out lol. Had to buy a ball bearing puller off ebay and use that for about an hour before it came out. Ripped skin off my hand but that sound is absolutely ridiculous.
