@@BigB70 Just make his Messatsu invincible and give him his own personal EX meter and like 6 supers just like in SF6. Double fire balls mid air, able to cancel from Messatsu. He needs to be roid up to be in that game lol
I would LOVE to see this kind of thing happening more often in fighting games, it gives so much more depth as to WHY the character is in the game and not just a case of "Ehhh we got the rights to put them in" I think the only other time this has happened in a way is Geralt in Soul Calibur 6
And then he is never mentioned/ retconned in T8's story. Not even the new T7 recap movie doesn't mention him. If it's a licensing issue, they could've referred to him as a "mysterious assassin" or something in the form of a shadowy silhouette instead of just not acknowledging him.
From what I remember, Soul Calibur did this too around the same time with Geralt as well. He was the one who awoke soul edge in the new timeline,so he has some big story significance as well
There's always one who manages to piece things together before the moment that's supposed to get everyone hyped, and they usually have great reactions.
This was one of the games to cement the fact that it doesn't matter if you are a casual, new to fighting games, a veteran, an online only player, a pro, it doesn't even matter if you don't play Street Fighter, Akuma WILL find you and you will not escape him.
@@AviAwait was probably a tie (the place blew up and they didnt see each other) Though Im just saying IM JUST SAYING Akuma would beat him if he transformed too
The fact you had both Akuma and Geese Howard in Tekken 7 and could recreate CvS inside the game propelled it to unparalleled hype. Tekken 8 better bring some goddamn guest characters on the same level.
@@volcanickjoe08 We wont always wonder, I am a firm believer we will get Tekken X SF one day and it'll be amazing. Yes it's copium but let me live dammit.
Amusingly, just last night I found my way to a video of one of the many MK MUGENs that had Akuma and Raging Demon was one of his fatalities. Granted it was using the SF The Movie sprites for that but still.
Just gonna copy/paste gilbertberger7234's comment: "Nope. He didn't play SF5 Akuma on stream and as he stated at the start of the video, this is the end of the legacy. Street Fighter 5 I think isn't the only game he skipped because wasn't Akuma in one of the Neo Geo pocket games?"
As much there will be people that would feel bummed out that SFV is Not Included to this Countdown Legacy I’m okay with this. Maximilian Dood had a Love and Hate Relationship on Street Fighter 5 and if you want more of his Opinions on the game you can watch his Street Fighter Legacy on SFV. I feel the same way as Max with SFV being an Incomplete Game at Launch and some of the Characters Designs are really Questionable such as “Banana Hair Ken” or “Sunflower Akuma”. At the end of the Game’s Lifespan we appreciate now and finally Forgave then Move On. If Max was going to talk about SFV Akuma he would probably mentioned how: - SFV V-Trigger incorporates w/ SFVI Mechanics and Improves it - Giving Akuma a Character Arc that Connects between SFV to Third Strike - …And finally the Sunflower Hair [Thankfully SFVI Fixed the Designed]
@@UMvsC3DPFWPWSFV isn't his favorite by any means but he's grown to respect the game throughout the end of its lifespan + he does like SFV Akuma, just that he was extremely pressed for time He didn't even play Tekken 7 on stream and the only reason why he talked about it is due to how monumental T7 was to Akuma's legacy (SFV was basically just Akuma in another SF game while T7 was basically Akuma outright taking over a completely different fighting game IP and being the sole remnant of the now-probably cancelled Tekken x Street Fighter)
@@royshaheer the SFV Story Mode made Necalli looked even Worse! He’s Defeated by Balrog and F.A.N.G, although M.Bison was too strong against him. With Akuma case he pretty much tears him apart through the inside and pop like a balloon. So yeah not sure if he’s dead but Necalli seems like a Wasted Potential because we all thought he was a powerful Demigod similar to Gill.
I remember my friend made me get Tekken 7 and she said "There's a guy from another game in the story." I didn't know who she was talking about, but I played through the campaign and sure enough, here's Akuma vs. Heihachi and I'm losing my freaking mind.
Mad respect for the Tekken devs that they gave Akuma his due. "Do we make him a joke character, like Dan? Should his best attacks basically do nothing?" "No, let's make him awesome."
and after that Geese Howard. best thing is that Geese looked even more amazing than Akuma in terms of 3D, even had some Tekken mechanics like the wall jump.
That's really the one thing they should have done. He breaks Tekken rules in so many other ways, that would have allowed him to stay cool and authentic while toning him down and making him a high-risk high-reward character like he should be
or at least give him the stun mechanic from SF to make the player worried of not attacking too much. but yeah the health tone down would have been better.
@FireTrainer92 Neuter? You mean give him a standard trait that's been a part of him ever since his first playable incarnations. He'd still easily be contender for best character in the game. Having lower health doesn't change any of the incredible tools he has. I dunno if you have some weird personal take on akuma actually being bad but I got news for you, ya wrong. There's more to a character than just health values. Once you actually play a fighting game for more than a couple of hours you'll start to see that.
@@FireTrainer92 It depends by how much they lowered it. Even then, if it made the character low-tier that would've been fine. It would still appeal to the people that want to play 2D while not overshadowing the actual Tekken characters in the Tekken game. Gimmick characters (imo 2D in Tekken is a gimmick) are cool when they're not OP, but when they dominate people come to hate them
i met him cause of T7. and tbh, after watching other games, i still love his representation in Tekken, Bamco respected a lot his essence, while also adding some new stuff that wasn't out of character.
On of my favorite pieces of youtube fgc content is listening to grandpa max talk about old fighting games. I got into fighting games relatively late in my gaming life so I always love hearing Max’s nostalgia for the older eras.
Harada really did Capcom a solid one. Akuma is CANONICALLY one of the strongest characters in the franchise, and with Tekken 8 expanding their main storyline, it is not impossible to see him making a comeback.
if he returns, he shouldn't have his super bar, or at least integrated to the heat mechanics. like making a messatsu gohadou as a smash, and the dash cancels sacrificing a huge bar.
Heat mechanic is basically Bamco answer to the 2D super meter. and if Tekken x Street Fighter happenned I think they gonna using heat system for SF characters too.
Man that trailer showing him not only in the game… but the story… still gives me chills… Got Tekken 7 recently when it was on a massive sale I look forward to trying it. ❤
Akuma Tekken reveal to me is the greatest reveal ever. Like how? Like how????? Love how they made it connected with the devil/demon theme. Nothing is beating Akuma and Geese reveal in Tekken 7 ever!!!!
At last year's EVO Tekken X Street Fighter was mentioned and referred to by Ono (Capcom guy) as homework as he crashed the stage during the Tekken finals and the reveal of Azucena.
I mentioned in Super Street Fighter II Turbo that one of my favorite aspects about Akuma is his code. To him fighting is a religion, it’s a privilege to battle not only a worthy powerful opponent but one that respects fighting just as much as he does. He will not pick fights with weak opponents and those he fights will spare those to improve. He’s not a dirty fighter but a legitimate warrior that has his own honor and morals. And his motivations are often misunderstood by those unfamiliar with Street Fighter lore.

@@gamefan6219 Given how much Akuma was hated by the competitive Tekken scene throughout T7's lifespan, he will never come back in T8. His inclusion was very likely done to give T7 some much needed outside interest from other FGC scenes, since Tekken's popularity was in extreme decline during the TTT2 era. And now that Tekken's popularity is only really outclassed by Street Fighter or Smash Bros these days, they don't need Akuma for Tekken 8.
Max.... This video game me actual chills in so many instances, thank you for sharing and properly demonstrating how AWESOME Akuma is overall 🙌💜🙏praises and much love from Canada 💜
I love how in the initial reveal of Akuma for Tekken 7 you hear someone go "What the fuck?!", And I cannot sympathize with it more. Holy shit Akuma in Tekken, the pseudo Tekken vs Street Fighter sequel we had been waiting for but only as one character. That's okay though because I LOVE playing Akuma. Damn Tekken 7 was an amazing game, prove me wrong, content farm my post. 😤
I'm surprised you haven't made a video, or at least a comment, about Aluma showing up in Asura's Wrath. Maybe it's because he isn't playable, but I still remember that Boss Rage video being amazing!
I was litrally so happy when I 1st see that trailer for t7 akuma I couldn't believe my eyes that my favourite sf character was going too be in my favourite fighting game tekken like omg and they did such amazing job with him ❤ great video max as always 👊🙏
The coolest thing Tekken 7 did with Akuma is that, they didn't change the character at all, they quite literally brought him over to Tekken, as he is, keeping the unique mechanics he had in his original game so it feels 100% authentic. He even looks totally authentic with the artstyle somehow, despite the fact he comes from a series with a more cartoony artstyle, it's like magic. It was exactly what Street Fighter x Tekken DIDN'T do. SfxTk just made new Street fighter characters then just gave them a Tekken paint coat.
To be fair... while a 2D -> 3D conversion is a lot more work, it's a lot easier to convert a _one_ 2D character into Tekken style than to convert 20+ Tekken characters into 2D. Namco was able to be that authentic with Akuma because it was just one character. I'm not convinced they would have been able to pull that off with a full roster in TvSF.
The image for this video that shows Akuma against Heihachi should’ve been on the cover of Tekken 7 or even a poster since it looks awesome. And just like Max I too had a blast playing as the master of the dark Hado against the cast of Tekken, The only complaint I had to it was that we never got a definitive answer as to what happened during the final confrontation between Akuma and Kazuya. 13:27 Kenny got so enraged by what happened with Eddy Gordo by Lucky Chloe (portrayed by Simmons) that he unleashed his own devil transformation 😂🤣 poor Simmons.
I know this about Akuma in Tekken but I knew it was real when he showed up as a secret boss in Asura Wrath. One of my favorite secret bosses in any video game!
Akuma brought in Tekken 7 is indeed one of the greatest WTF moments ever. I did not expected him to invade in the world of Tekken, and to be part of the story. His combos are massively insane here, and I love that how much work they put into him in Tekken 7.
Akuma was my first and only main in T7, I didn't even start playing true 3D until T8 came out and I picked up Azucena lol but I'm grateful since now I can enjoy both 2D and 3D fighters
One day I really need to play Tekken 7. I think I only ever played 5 for a bit since I only got a PS2 years after it all came out, but I would love to get back into the games (love the character customization especially, so many possibilities).
I'm sure some people will say just skip to 8, but if you just wanna jump in and play a full Tekken game with every kind of character you'd wanna try? T7 is excellent for that. I hadn't touched one since T3, but I loved my time with it.
there's a guy from Pakistan whose channel is Mwkan7 and in T7 and 8 is NEMESIS. the dude had both Akuma and Geese as some of his mains and made wonderful combos with them. with Geese he could even spam multiple shippukens in a row during a combo having Max Mode and not even breaking it.
This was an awesome legacy series! It's funny when how, if you ask people what game they associate Akuma with and they mostly say SF2, SF3 or SF4, I inmediately think about Tekken 7 just because how big of an impact he had on that game lol
Thank you for the revised legacy! I appreciate this kind of stuff a lot, I get it can be detrimental in the wack RU-vid algorithm when it comes to old game things.
Max hope you see this! The vods don't go back far enough for rebirth hardmode stuff you did , would mega appreciate it if you could upload them to youtube as it would go a long way to making me feel better that the rebirth Disney ride has come to an end lol ❤😂 halp me pls 🙏
What’s super crazy was that for like the first 4 years of Tekken 7, people didn’t truly understand how OP Akuma was. It was after Pakistani players started dominating tournaments that everyone began to know Akuma’s true power.
