This one just tears me up inside. I am remembering a love of my life that died, just heart break and it's giving me a deep pain at the moment, his performance here is just gut wrenching.
I just love the Rev. Al Green. Been out with my ticker acting up in old age but it's great to be back enjoying reactions with Biz. This takes me back to such good times. Fantastic video.
I swear it's as if you are pulling your songs right out of my play list! You got great taste. I would say my favorite from Al Green is Let's Stay Together, but this is a very close second.
I love Al Greens music i have several CDs of him. I have to say, I normally go with the original version but in this case ~ Al Green pips the post. Please give the Bee Gees credit where credit is due on this classic tune..
He is definitely a part of the "PDC" (panty dropping club) 😏 I wonder if you'd like to check out more icons like Al Green. If so then how about some "Percy Sledge - Warm And Tender Love (1966) 4K" Fun reaction, Biz
It's hard for me to listen to this version because I have loved the Beegees version since I was 10 yrs old. I do love Al Green though. I just listened to his Let's stay Together today in fact. I love Tina Turners Let's stay Together too.
This is a Bee Gees cover. I’m more familiar with the way they did it. I can’t listen to this version but I love your channel. I’m already a subscriber!!
Straight goosebumps! This man had a voice that could mend a broken heart! He sang a lot of Motown. "Let's stay together" is a favorite of mine. It just brings back sweet memories of slow dancing.
💯 Al Green was an amazing singer‼🔥 All the ladies loved him, his sound, the whole vibe‼It had been a long while since I'd heard this great song‼Thanks for bringing it BizMatik‼☮ ❤ 🎶
Biz - I had to throw this in there when the brothers broke up in 1970 actually it was 69. I think it was 18 months got back together in 1970 Robyn called Mary and they all got together and this is one of the first songs that they wrote after being split up how cool is that?
This song is not a love song, it refers to the break up of the singing group The Bee Gees. "How Can You Mend.." was never released a single by Stax Records, later in 1978 Vogue released it as a 45 rpm. This tune was written after a breakup of the Bee Gees. “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart”, originally released by The Bee Gees, was the lead single on the Bee Gees album Trafalgar. Primarily written by Barry and Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees, this song was the groups first U.S. number one hit! The song was written after a period of distance between the brothers. The writing of the song helped bring the brothers back together. Billboard ranked the track as No. 5 song for the year of 1971. Lyrically, the song is genius. Its central question about how to mend a broken heart is answered in one word never actually uttered by Robin Gibb: Love. Barry and Robin wrote the song as they were bringing the band back together after the Bee Gees had split up. It really is a song about the brothers and for the brothers but it reflects the universality of sorrow being vanquished by joy, the joy of love. This most human of truths will remain a constant as long as people live. Al Green's one and only number one hit was in 1972, Al Green went to No. 1 on the US singles chart with "Let's Stay Together," his only US chart topper.
