I’ve loved (Rev)Al Green since the early 70’s, he still drives me crazy 🥰 💥🔥I would love to hear his preaching & singing in his church, but I live way up in Canada so won’t make it down to Tennesee 😢. Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye & Rev Al Green are my favorite soul singers from the 60’s & 70’s… no one compares 😻 Love from 🇨🇦 ( Grand Forks, BC on USA border with Washington state!)

This tune was written after a breakup of the Bee Gees. “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart”, originally released by The Bee Gees, was the lead single on the Bee Gees album Trafalgar. Primarily written by Barry and Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees, this song was the groups first U.S. number one hit! The song was written after a period of distance between the brothers. The writing of the song helped bring the brothers back together. Billboard ranked the track as No. 5 song for the year of 1971. Lyrically, the song is genius. Its central question about how to mend a broken heart is answered in one word never actually uttered by Robin Gibb: Love. Barry and Robin wrote the song as they were bringing the band back together after the Bee Gees had split up. It really is a song about the brothers and for the brothers but it reflects the universality of sorrow being vanquished by joy, the joy of love. This most human of truths will remain a constant as long as people live.

Live version is always better. And it's always just the feelings you want your audience to feel. They SANG on that stage. Studio version is amazing to. But the emotions are seen right there in front of you. MERCY MERCY 🙌🙌

It was The Kennedy Center Awards honouring different artists & this was honouring Al Green. Yes Ms Jennifer was fantastic with her tribute to Al Green ( now known as Rev Al Green, he’s a preacher I think in Tennesee 😇) Earth Wind & Fire, Usher, Mavis Staples & Sam Moore ( of Sam & Dave ) all were wonderful in paying tribute to Rev Al’s music & incredible voice.

@@suzie4417 well you don't have to tell me much about Reverend Al LOL because I am going to be 69 I bought my first Al Green album when I was 18 in college and it was living for you and to this day I still play it on my phone they honestly do not make music like that anymore the closest person I know that still makes old school R&B is My Bae the legendary Anthony Hamilton who won a Grammy with a song with Al Green

To give you some idea of where Al Green came from he came from a family of sharecroppers and they don't say how many kids there was but they say it's large and then when he was younger they moved I think it was to Michigan and from sharecroppers son to a R&B Legend😊😊😊😊😊 he is smooth smooth smooth smooth smooth Teddy P was more sexual and Al Green is more romantic❤❤❤❤ you were talking about his ring check out that bracelet that looks like it weighs about 2 lb😅😅😅😅
