Al Hoota Cave: The only train in Oman (Archive)
Filmed in December 2018. I visit the Al Hoota Caves in Oman. To get from the entrance to the cave itself, visitors ride a small narrow-gauge railway. What's special about this particular railway? It's the only one in the entire country.

So they say, but it's an open secret in Oman that no progress has been made on planning Oman Rail for years now, the project has effectively been abandoned.

So the railway was a RAF Masirah Railway that used to transport goods from RAF masirah camp to the base. The railway operated during the Dhofar Civil War but it closed down. But there are remains of the railway left. Go Search More!
