About Married with Children:
The less-than-lovable Bundys are a radical departure from the saccharine-sweet TV families popular since the days of Father Knows Best. With offbeat humor and unflinching honesty, Married... paints a more realistic picture of middle-class existence, warts and all. Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill) is a shoe salesman who is fond of frequently reliving his doubtful 15 seconds of fame on the football field. Al is terrified of the all-too-frequent amorous advances of his ditsy wife Peggy (Katey Sagal), who spends most of Al's wages at the salon and the mall. They have two teenage kids: stunning but superficial party animal Kelly (Christina Applegate) and egocentric Bud (David Faustino). Married for 16 semi-blissful years, Peggy and Al have found that the secret to a happy marriage is to accept one another's idiosyncrasies.

This TV family thrusted so many "knives" into each other for our pleasure! No other crew could've written, directed, and cast a show this well done. The stars were aligned once this show found its "sweet-spot" TV comedy crew. During an era dominated by precious, heartfelt, light comedy family TV shows, truly if this show was looking to flip the typical "TV family highs & lows sitcom" stereotype on its head and shake out the precious DIRT, then Married With Children did this to absolute perfection!

I remember the one where I think his car was about to roll over a million miles and Dodge wanted to film the moment and give AL a brand new viper. I love Married With Children (more especially in the earlier seasons) but I wouldn't allow any child at the age of 11 or younger to watch the show. See, I do know better....especially not to take a sitcom so seriously.
