I remember seeing this angle quite well. Sailor White really was beating the crap out of Bobo Brazil and everybody else. I had never seen Bobo beaten down like that, not even by The Sheik. It was intense because as a viewer, the shots he was dishing out didn't look fake at all. George Cannon was getting more verbose with Sailor White as he was going on a rant and you could see what was coming. George was methodically taking off his wrist watch and other valuable items. When they collided, Sailor White really blasted George in the gut with that club and you could see it hurt him. They were working quite snug and yes, their bellies were bumping too but it looked a lot better on TV than Al makes it sound. Sailor White retreated and that set the stage for a short term in-ring fued between Cannon and White.
I used to watch Cannon's "Superstars of Wrestling" show too. Sailor White had maybe three teeth, hideous old school maritime tattoos and a flabby 300 pound body with no muscles. Repulsive and easy to hate, but he was a guy no one would want to mess with. Those matches probably drew pretty well, especially in Canada.
When Sailor White was dying in the hospital, my best friend's mother was dying in the same room. I visited him (via her) several times. I had been enrolled in Sailor White's wrestling school years before. He was an interesting guy.
