Why the studio version of this song wasn't released as a single is beyond me. It sounded so eighties it was unbelievable! Oh well, poor Enigma went bankrupt leaving "Last Days of the Century" with no label support. I use to play "Ghostly Horses of the Plains" on a radio show of Jazz and New Age music when I was in college back in the late eighties; the song fit in so nicely! Funny thing was, supposedly Al did not even play guitar on the instrumental version that made it on the album. Oh well, those days are long gone now and we're stuck in these "Modern Times". Wish we could go back! Al's music was great to grow up with.⏳
I do love the Last Days of the Century album, I think it's a real highlight in Al's already impressive career. I did a remaster of the "King of Portugal" video which is on this channel - it's interesting to me that the label had enough faith in the album/single to produce a 'proper' music video!
Most folks nowadays aren't even aware that Stewart has had such a lengthy career. His first album was released in 1967. (That's about 60yrs ago, unless my math has been completely buggered.)
