Al Wilson Career Highlights

Al Wilson one of the hardest hitters of all time. Al Wilson is always underrated as a result of his career ending early due to a fluke neck injury in 2006. Al Wilson is known for his 4th &1 Hit on Tyrone Wheatley in the snow of 2004. The play defines Al Wilson’s career, just a badass you have to see when you cross the middle

One night at “Shotgun Willies” I saw Al Wilson along with a recently released ( for good this time ) Jarious Jackson & a 3rd man who was probably a ( unknown to me ) Broncos player. The 3 of them were at a roped off table & JJ was quite obviously trying to pitch Al Wilson on some sort of financial/business investment that he was drumming up during his now expanded free time. JJ was trying in vain to tractor beam Al Wilson’s attention to him as Al looked over his shoulder at the dancing ladies. I can’t say for sure , but I’m almost certain that no business was ever started up that day on Al Wilson’s dime. To show what a “Mark” I am, Wilson left a half smoked cigar at the Strip Club that night - which I promptly snatched up as a souvenir. It’s gone now but I prob had it for at least 3 years tucked away into a nick back box.

Holy shit u had Al Wilson’s cigar? That’s actually badass

Denver Broncos Archive I just mentioned what I had commented to my wife , up to & including the Cigar I used to have. She made a “face” when I referenced the cigar and quickly the mystery of how it had finally gotten lost/thrown out was solved - she told me she tossed it when we were moving many yrs back. Can’t say I blame her too much , although it would be more justifiable if she even slightly knew who Al Wilson was. I think to her , the story is more about a cigar I brought home from the strip club.

Zen Of Tupac 😂 that is classic. It’s a damn shame she threw it out but aye that makes a for a funny and memorable story👌🏽

I still can't believe he hasn't been inducted into the Broncos' ROF. If his career had been longer, we'd likely be talking HOF.

Met Al Wilson at a charity golf outing in 2013 here in Florida. Really nice guy when not on the field. He signed a hat for me and had a pic taken. John Mobley hosted the event in memory of his Dad. Also present were Terrell Davis, Mobley and David Eckstein (baseball)

I'm a native East Tennessean and obviously I was born a VOL fan. The earliest games I can remember are from the 1984 season, so I've seen a lot of VOL players. Al Wilson is my all time favorite VOL of all time and he is one of the most important VOLS of all time! He is the biggest reason why the 98 team were national champs, he has made some of the most important plays to win games his entire career (college & pro) and had he not had that career ending neck injury he would have for sure made the pro football hall of fame, he may possibly still have a chance to make!! BIG AL, my favorite of all time!! I also love him for remaining a presence at UT! He has the heart of a lion and a champion!! I love BIG AL!!!!

I'd put Al with Simon Fletcher as the most underrated Broncos of all time. Maybe because of the career ending neck injury, the time/era (99-06) he played, or because nothing crazy ever stood out. But he's easily the best Broncos MLB in my opinion. Going back to '85 since I've been a fan anyway.
