It's an incredible song anyway. My Dad listened to it all the time... this song was still in heavy rotation in '75 when my folks divorced. Dad made many overtures to win Mom back to no avail. It spoke to him for sure.

Sorry to hear about your parents, Mark, but it's cool to know it meant a lot to your dad, and that you remembered it connecting with him. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@timelesspoprocksoul Thanks man. If my parents marriage was a movie, it would probably star Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn... It was for the best anyway. Dad was more involved after the divorce 🤭🙄😁

One of my all-time favorites. Outstanding! That song deserved this attention for its lyrical composition. Beautiful, well-constructed context of music history and for that period. Tried my best to keep that 1 teardrop inside my eyelid...didn't work...more flowed.

It was magic, and those of us who were fortunate enough to live through it will never forget it.

Seems this song would be one of the easiest Name That Tune in one note songs ever. That's how unique it is. I echo all your sentiments.

Thumbs UP for this one...those strings in this record. I am a strings man. LOL Music Arrangers who write out those strings and horn arrangements, in songs that go off to become BIG hits. NEVER get their recognition.

Thank you for this passionate reaction and commentary in regards to the classic, "Show and Tell" by Al Wilson (R.I.P.). I'm a rock and roll musician that has an eclectic and diverse music style. The 70s is where it's at! The classic rock and roll of KISS, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, The Beatles, The Who and The Rolling Stones have helped me develop my own style. The classic soul of Marvin Gaye (R.I.P.), The Rev. Al Green, Teddy Pendergrass (R.I.P.) have inspired my passion and love for music. R.I.P. to Mr. Al Wilson. I cannot stop listening to this beautiful yet powerful soul masterpiece. Thank you, and God bless you.

Hey Jeff, if you can appreciate that old school 70's R&B/Soul you mentioned, you're already ahead of the musical game. The Al Wilson song always got me - a masterpiece, as you noted. When I get back to the 70's material here in the next few weeks, I'm gonna go deep into the Soul - you'll love it! Thanks for watching and commenting, Jeff!

Interesting, with some coaching by, say, Quincy Jones, I could see Gary Puckett maybe pulling of this song off 😁

Funnily enough written by Jerry Fuller, Gary Puckett & Union Gap's producer and song writer ie Young Girl, Lady Willpower.
