One of the best songs ever written. By anybody.

My favourite Morrissey song - full stop. A MASTERPIECE of songwriting. Alain's writing married with Moz's best lyrics of that period. It never lets up, it constantly finds another gear. BRILLIANT.

Another gem. I'll never understand why this song was left out of Southpaw Grammar, it could have been a single. Then again, most songs on Southpaw could have been a single too, it was a fantastic album, very underrated IMO. The performance, by the way, was fantastic, as usual.

This song makes me so emotional it’s so beautiful and sad, one of the best you and Morrissey have written. Such a great performance Alain. ❤️

Every day I watch your videos further confirms my belief that you and Moz are one of the greatest one-two punches in songwriting, truly. These B-sides are tremendous. Your daily performances are the best musical gifts; I don't know what I'll watch when this magic ends (guess I'll just keep re-watching them)!

I first heard this song on "Burglary Years" and thought, "They LEFT THIS OFF the album??" Glad it found a second life.

I was just thinking "Wow, this guy's really good, this is such a great rendition". Then came the realization: "Damn, he's the one who wrote the damn tune!" :D Such a beautiful track, man. It's unbelievable it got initially released as a b-side. It's one of Morrissey's best, honestly.

I don't really think about meeting my heroes but I've always wanted to ask Morrissey about this song. Before he died my stepdad Darren used to tell me stories about hanging out with M, and I never really believed him but after he died we found all these personal things, notes and things. He told me that one time him and M were eating cherry cake out of a bag outside a shopping centre, and Darren said "Look at us stuffing our faces with cake, nobody loves us!" and then Nobody Loves Us came out; he said he asked M if he got that lyric from that time and he said yes. I've always wanted to ask Morrissey if he remembers any of that, or other stories Darren told me :)

There are a few demo versions of this amazing track kicking about. I always thought Moz felt he didn't quite nail this one. Regardless. amazing performance. You nailed it there Alain. Breathtaking.

Fabulous tune Mr W, the line 'born again atheists practising trouble makers' had me beside myself when I heard Morrissey sing it, I will be humming this song along with Gina G's 'oo ah just a little bit ' until doomsday, gorgeous.

hi alain, i always wondered if you and the rest of the guys disagreed with the album tracklists. morrissey is famous for brilliant bsides. in many cases the songs were stronger songs than the single and many album tracks.
