To move your song (or bourbon) to the front of the list, please bribe us by sending a bottle of bourbon, preferably one we haven't had on the channel yet, to: BCR 484 E. Carmel Dr. Suite 155 Carmel, IN 46032
That is actually his wife Denise, they were high school sweethearts. She looks young but she’s really not much younger than him. This song is their story. They separated in the 90’s for a bit, after his heavy touring schedule and his affair. Then they worked it out and have been together ever since. The little girls in the video are their daughters too💞
So some interesting info about remember when. That is Allan’s wife in the video, they were high school sweethearts and he wrote the song and it’s a true story.
Alan Jackson is one of the most talented country artists ever. HIs song "Midnight in Montgomery" is a haunting tribute won the Country Music Association award for Music Video of the Year (1992) . Then, you move on to some of his upbeat stuff like "It's 5 o'clock Somewhere" and get a great surprise in the original video. I've never seen one of his videos blocked.
Hey guys. You’re talking over the song and not paying attention to the words. You are missing a beautiful tribute to the joys and pain of a marriage that lasts from youth to old age.
they were spot on to what the song was saying. They married young, did in fact have a hurtful breakup due to his infidelity , and got back together. That's what song reactions are about. Seeing how other people react to something.
I think you will love Alan Jackson's DRIVE, so relatable. Makes me cry every time thinking about my dad and he's not even the one who taught me to drive
I love how he uses the mandolin so wonderfully in most of his videos...its just beautiful...just like his songs...wholesome family oriented songs about real life...about the life most of us secretly dream ours would or should be like...its a shame the world today no longer takes the time with things going at such a fast pace to take time to enjoy and notice....things that would make a difference in the world are being erased...things we should take time for like family and simple moral values....maybe all of us should start thinking about all of this on a daily basis instead of everything bad.
They were high school sweethearts and married young. Around the time their 3rd daughter was born he had an affair. She forgave him and they are still together today.
Not sure if you have done his song "Where were you when the world stopped turning". After 9-11 he woke up one night with this in his head and got up and wrote this beautiful song.
This song reminds me of my husband. Married as teens, had a brief split in our 20s, reconciled and had a big family. We never got to be old and remember when because he died suddenly at 45. 😪😪
Saw Alan Jackson at Sioux Falls State Fair 25 years ago or so. Lightning hit and took all but emergency electricity. Alan Jackson kept playing, all acoustic, no microphone. Electricity came back on, I wish it hadn't, it was so good. I was an Alan Jackson fan-ish before, but the way he handled that cemented my Fandom. He just kept playing and entertaining, A total professional and great guy through the whole ordeal. Can't say I like all of his songs, but I will always have respect for him.
It was his lovely wife that helped get him discovered. She was a flight attendant and she gave his demo to a record exec who actually listened to it. Also, they didn't break up but there was alleged infidelity. BTW he sounds just like this live. He has a great voice. He is a singer/songwriter.
While working as a flight attendant, Alan's wife Denise, met singer Glen Campbell ("Rhinestone Cowboy"). Denise told him about Alan and that he was an aspiring country music artist. After their conversation, Glen handed over his business card and said to have Alan contact him.
He wrote this song about their life together. I've read his wife's book. He cheated on her at one point when their relationship was very rocky but they reconciled. "Found trust"
@@BourbonCountryReacts he's an extremely talented writer as well as singer. Many of his songs are very personal which is why the emotion comes through IMO. Since you enjoyed this one, you may consider some others of his.
Yeah, as far as bookfaces goes, it's intended as an insult. I've recently dumped it and most other social media, being largely cesspools bringing out the worst of humanity. - Keith
"Chattahoochee" was THE party song by him. The video itself is a party; it's AWESOME! Another good one by him is "Country Boy", which was later in his career relative to "Chattahoochee".
Alan wrote this for his wife & yes, this is her in the video. They were high school sweethearts & have been married 43 years. 3 daughters. This is their story. They had some problems when he got famous & were able to fix it. If you have not heard it, you must check out 'Where were you when the world stopped turning' which he wrote in the days after 9/11. Sooooooooooo powerful.
It’s on his gospel cd Precious Memories. My Dad was a musician and played bass and rhythm guitar, that’s all I knew growing up til he passed in 2007. I quite singing and became a firefighter/first responder. It was to hard to get through songs especially Ricky Van Shelton’s “I’ll leave at his World Loving You” which my Mom had recorded when Dad sang it so he sang it at his own funeral and of course everyone cried ugly.
Just found your channel a couple weeks ago... This song was played at my husband's funeral. Cancer stole our plans. I'm 60 years old now. We were married 38 years. He's been gone from this earth for 5 years now. Beautiful song.
I love this song! It was my mom and dad's song. They were married 40 years when mom passed from breast cancer but they were one of those couples that never really got tired of each other and I never heard them fight
Alan is such a great songwriter and performer so I love a lot of what he does but what’s so special about this song to me is how it doesn’t candy coat the struggles people often go through. No one said marriage and raising kids is easy but man is it worth it! The song mentions how the start was hard and how life threw them some curves which happens. Also, how they’ll break each other’s hearts and hopefully bend but not break the marriage. How having kids can teach valuable lessons to the parents who have to let go of so much of themselves and put the kids first which often brings the parents closer even though the job of raising kids is one of the hardest yet most rewarding things they’ll ever do. It also talks about how our perceptions and values change as life moves on and how ultimately we’d do it all again, the struggles, the hurt, the broken trust, the rebuilt trust, the joy, and the love. It’s a masterpiece and now that I've been married for 19 years and have two wonderful kids this song means so much more to me. My favorite songs by the icon Alan Jackson are Remember When, Livin’ on Love, Where Were You, Small Town Southern Man, I’ll Try, Here in the Real World, Drive, She’s Got the Rhythm, The Older I Get, Monday Morning Church, and I Can't Do That Anymore (recorded by Faith Hill).
I like Here in the Real World and I can't Do That Anymore. I don't know if Plano in your name is TX but listening to all these old songs reminds me of when Plano was a small, close-knit community, and hanging out at the Ag barn. 😁
@@planojag595 Yes, we moved there in '72. I remember every Friday, no matter where you went, grocery store, bank, work, school, everyone had on Plano Wildcat T-shirts, every street light had ribbons and signs. Everyone went to the game on Friday nights, because Plano East and Plano West had not been built yet. It was a great experience. 😊
@@timeforchange3786 Sounds so much better than now. We moved here in 2011 and it's changed so much even since then. At least we still have the horses, cattle, llamas, and mules at what's left of the Haggard's farm right smack dab in the city to make us almost feel like we're in Texas.
My parents actually graduated from the same high school class, but didn’t really interact. 5 years later, my grandmothers both worked together & set them up on a date. They had never had a serious relationship beforehand. My Dad still has the receipt from their first date in his wallet. He knew that night he wanted to marry her. Funnily enough, my husband & I met working where out Mom’s worked & we’ve been together over 20 years now.
AJ has dozens of huge hits…of all types. I’ve seen him perform live several times…he’s always superb. There are probably 20-30 songs that you would love.
I saw him perform this in concert and it was unbelievable. Well that’s better than the port -a-potty my partner at work bought me. Then turned around and asked if he could use it at his camp site......after all I didn’t need it yet !! LOL.
If you'll please consider doing Alan Jackson's "Sissy's Song" I would appreciate it! It was played at my grandmother's funeral many years ago and holds a special place in my heart ❤️
Please listen to Alan Jackson, Where were you. You've had to have heard this, please listen to it live. He performed it on an award show. Unbelievable.
It’s the story of him and his wife. The good, the pain and the growing of a love that lasts forever. It’s his wife and kids in the video. It’s his life story of love
When you said "effortless" the first thing that popped into my head was Keith Whitley singing When You Say Nothing At All. I think y'all will really appreciate his voice. There's a really good live version. He was an alcoholic and sadly he passed away many years ago and far too soon. I'd also recommend George Strait--Chill of an Early Fall, Troubadour, Amarillo By Morning, She'll Leave You With a Smile, Give It All We Got Tonight and many others.
Love to see that your reacting to newer Artists. I think you were a little too into the Bourbon to appreciate the beauty of this song and story. Other great Country songs....Brad Paisley songs, He Didn't Have To Be, I'm Gonna Miss Her, Alcohol, Letter to Me. Rascal Flatts, any of their stuff. Tim McGraw, Humble and Kind, Live Like You Were Dying, She's My Kind of Rain, My Little Girl, endless list. Keith Urban, God Whispered Your Name, Long Hot Summer, Little Bit of Everything, Long Hot Summer.
Well, we do love our bourbon. So, that's probably not going away. A lot of the songs you've recommended here, so have others. They're already on our list. We'll add the rest to it. Thanks!
Love this song. Hits most people in some sort of emotional way. Played this at my wedding to the “how long have you been married” dance. My grandparents were the last ones out there with 60 years. They’re not on 65 happy years together :)
Nope his wife. Yes he married his highschool sweatheart. Chattahoochee is a fun song of his. Another great song of Alans is The Older I Get. I'll be turning 51 this year so I can relate to this song.
So much country out there, so many artists, Shania Twain, Man I feel like a woman. George Dukas, lipstick promises, Ronnie Milsap, Smoky Mountain rain, Patsy Cline crazy, George strait right or wrong, Johnny Cash ring of fire, Brenda Lee too many rivers, Reba McIntyre, ‘til love comes again. Martina McBride, broken wing, John Conley rose-colored glasses, The McCarters, timeless and true love, Alison Krauss all alone am I, Keith Urban blue ain’t your color, almost any of these artists anything off the greatest hits album‘s
@@BourbonCountryReacts I think you do a fantastic job. I wasn’t trying to be hateful at all. I hope you didn’t take it that way. I’m just sarcastic. Sorry
Definitely need to hear Alan Jackson's "Where were you (when the world stopped turning)"...He wrote the song as his reaction to 9/11 and if there was one song that united the country post 9/11, it was "Where were you". ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mwcWVs4Eejg.html
Also another good one is called father My son and the holy Ghost by Craig Morgan and it is a must hear song it definitely will hit you in the heart because it's very powerful and it's a true story he lost his son and wrote this song
Yall have got to get some more women of country on here. Terri Clark (girls lie too), leann rimes (one way ticket), Jamie O'Neil (somebody's hero), Jessica andrews (who i am)
