To move your song (or bourbon) to the front of the list, please bribe us by sending a bottle of bourbon, preferably one we haven't had on the channel yet, to: BCR 484 E. Carmel Dr. Suite 155 Carmel, IN 46032
This was my husband‘s favorite song. He would play it over and over and over. And I played it for him at his funeral. One of these days I will be able to listen to this song without crying…
Know what you mean. When the love of my life passed the last thing we were able to share was a song by Faith Hill from the sound track of "Pearl Harbor" called "There You'll Be". She was a nurse who worked mostly with the elderly at a rehab hospital here. Neither of us are what you would call "young" but she still loved helping others. They called her their Angel and she was. She was also one of the most formidable yet loving people I have ever been privileged to know. Having a fundamental part of your life (in my case after 54 years) no longer there on a daily basis outside of your memories is hard. They say it gets better with time. Personally I think they're lying. I also know that she'd find a way to haunt my ass if I tried to just curl up and die. Life goes on. It may suck at times but you have to find joy in whatever you can. Hear a child laugh and remember a good time. See a leaf fall (it's fall here) and smile in memory of jumping into a pile (as older adults) and laughing about it (and praying you didn't leave a rake in the pile). Love doesn't have an expiry date. Take care all and thanks Sandy. I still can't get through "There You'll Be" without tears, maybe one day.
Sorry Sandy, but I cry all the time and have no such attachment. But what gets to me is that I believe these guys are starting to 'get it' as they react to country songs in which the concept of 'belief' is the antidote to the hardship that life brings us. The song is about far more than the musical genre and arrangements. While they are essential, as Charlie Parker noted, Country music is about the stories and the words.
Brooks and Dunn can take you to the honky tonk on Saturday and turn around and take you to church the next morning. This song ALWAYS gives me chills. Ronnie Dunn’s voice is heavenly.
Other way around guys. Ronnie Dunn sang the hell out of it. He also wrote it based on a man he knew as a kid. Kix Brooks was playing guitar and sometimes sings as well. I believe they are still the most awarded Country duo.
In 2017, I had just got home from being in the hospital for 16 days. I had open heart surgery at 45 years old. Our TV was on CMT and this song came on. I sat there with tears rolling down my face.💜🙏☮️✝️
I'm so glad you guys did "Believe" it's a great song and there's not a whole lot that Brooks and Dunn can do wrong really. And Ronnie Dunn could sing the phone book and it would go Gold. I think that's the first time you've not stopped a video. Loved your reaction. Ronnie Dunn was singing and Kix Brooks was playing guitar. Brooks and Dunn have been a major Country Duo since 1991 and just retired a few years ago. Their catalogue is stacked with #1's!!!!
I heard they were considering coming out of retirement for at least one more album. I'm trying not to get my hopes up until it's confirmed by one of them but I hope they do.
@@greeneyelove2003 I know they did some Residency dates with Reba in Las Vegas, and they have some 2021 Tour dates listed, but I haven't seen anything about a new album.
I can't listen to this without crying. I was raised in a very religious home. Southern Baptist and although I'm far from living that now, I do believe. Thank you for this reaction. You two are the best! 🖒
True story from Ronnie Dunn's life(the singer) Brooks and Dunn won Top Vocal Duo from CMA"S the in every year from 1991 to 2006, except in 2000. They have won a total of 28 ACM awards, 17 CMA awards, 2 Grammys, and 23 major awards from other entities. They were THE duo for 20 years straight. This song won 3 awards itself. Nice reaction guys!
I am so glad you listened to this. I can't hear this song without crying. I am fairly new subscribe so I haven't seen all your videos yet, but I suggest Some People Change by Montgomery Gentry. This song here reminds me of a wonderful African-American woman I met (back when I was in high school) when a church group I was part of went to a local nursing home every Wednesday night to sing. Mrs. Pitts was her name. I would get her from her room, take her to the service and then see her back to her room. She was one of the most amazing women I have ever known. She use to say anytime life had you down, stop what you were doing and think of five things you are grateful for. That's advice I still hold to twenty years later. I will never forget the Wednesday night I went to get her and a nurse told me that she had passed away the Friday before, just two days after I last saw her. I was heartbroken but I know where she is. Same with my grandmother, years later, who passed in her sleep less than three weeks from what would have been her 94th birthday. I know I will see them again someday. Until then, they are and always will be in my heart.
Every now and then, we come into contact with some amazing experience and wisdom. The challenge is usually recognizing it when you see it. Sounds like you recognized it Just Fine.
Ronnie Dunn is an incredible singer!! Before Brooks & Dunn became a group he was studying to be a preacher!! They were the top duo and country music for a long time!! Listen to “Red Dirt Road”; “Play Something Country”; “Only in America”; “Brand New Man”!!
Brooks and Dunn are a country duo.The song came out about 15 years ago. True story of Ronnie Dunn's childhood. Also how Ronnie found the Lord. 11-5-2021
According to comments that I've seen, this song is based on a true story from Ronnie Dunn's (singer of this song and general lead singer for Brooks and Dunn ) life. Apparently, he actually has a hard time singing the song live do to this.
Ronnie Dunn (the singer) went to a Christian college and served as a youth and music pastor, so he most definitely has that southern gospel background you thought you heard! This is one of those songs that hits you in the feels and makes you think, for sure. Maybe give a couple of 90s country ladies a listen. Jo Dee Messina, "My Give a Damn's Busted," is fun. Shania Twain's, "Man, I Feel Like a Woman," video was a poke at Robert Palmer's video, "Simply Irresistable," which featured a slew of sexy, but interchangeable, women who were all styled to be indistinguishable from one another. Gretchen Wilson's, "Here For The Party," "Redneck Woman," or "All Jacked Up," are pretty rowdy, upbeat songs. Figured I'd give a break from asking for the emotional ones. ;)
Kathy here -Brooks and Dunn is a great duo. You need to check out Neon Moon and Boot Scootin Boogie. Ronnie Dunn is the singer and Kicks Brooks is the one playing the guitar. Loved your review and how you compare and point out similarities to another genre. Another great song to check out is Keith Urban - he did a tribute to the Bee Gees, and he played To Love Somebody. I know both of you love guitar riffs and Keith does not disappoint in this one.
Ronnie Dunn was the one singing. Kix Brooks was the one with the hat playing the guitar. Ronnie went to college, he was gonna be a minister, was asked to leave when they found him playing music on the weekends
This story in video should be my own. Exactly same. I. White. My other mother, as I called lady who helped raise me, was black. We saw no color. Just an elder helping raise a child and we loved each other like kin. I miss her everyday.
A particularly powerful country song is "The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost" by Craig Morgan. It's a very personal song to him with powerful vocals and a heartbreaking story. Very much in the same vein as this
Yes, you would definitely love Ashley Monroe and Ronnie Dunn, I Don't Want To. Sweet song about when you first fall in love with someone. They both have voices from heaven, and the instruments are fantastic.
There are so many great singers from the country music of the 90's. The true natural talent is better than most of the commercialized crap being aired today. These artists can sing live and tell such stories. I was never a country music fan born and raised in New Jersey until I heard Reba McIntyre and went to one of her concerts. With the violent crap that was being played on the radios and videos, I became a country fan. You need to listen to more country artists from the 90's to get a true grasp of the talent.
I guess there was a reason for the rise of Country popularity in the 90s. As rock transitioned to "stare at your shoes and whine" (grunge), country went more traditional rock. That's kind of my take right now as I'm learning country. That Seattle grunge scene produced one of my favorite rock bands. But it also reshaped rock in a way such that I don't think it'll ever recover. - Keith
Their live performance here on youtube of "Only in America" is really good. So's the video. I'm putting a vote in for the compilation song "Forever Country" people are mentioning. Brooks and Dunn are in that one too. With 52 million views, it's a winner..... I'm sure Keith will appreciate it when he hears it. But, I'm not telling.
Absolutely love Brooks and Dunn!! Met them after a gig. I was the DJ for a after party. Great dudes!! Enjoying a Rebel Cask Strength tonight. A Binny's Beverage Depot store pick!! 🥃 👍 Sammy Kershaw "Cadillac Style". Chattanooga Whiskey Cask Strength
Long black train is another great country song but I forgot who sings it. Someone will comment and set me straight. I just looked it up. Josh turner sang it
My Wife found a Great Bottle of Bourbon at Costco called "Very Old Barton." It is one of the smoothest Bourbon I have ever tried. Great Value as well. Enjoyed your Reaction Videos.
Ronnie Dunn is the red head singing, and Kix Brooks is the one playing guitar. They both sing and play guitar though. They have many great catalog if you want to listen to more of them. Boots Scootin’ Boogey, Neon Moon, and Rock my world little Country Girl.
You are witnessing truth from his childhood...lead singer Ronnie Dunns bluesy/gospel voice combined with the back ground singers and that organ plus the beautiful video brings the story to life. Yes Dunn sang in church and was going to be a pastor but the music was calling him. He rarely performs this song live which speaks to his deep connection with old man Wrigley, which shaped him as a person and a man...he saw no age or color barriers...Brooks and Dunn are gems of country and have 11 albums out...you should check out the tribute of this song by Jennifer Hudson...
Love to see fellow metalheads dive into country music. I'm a everything from Pantera through metalcore lover. But I also have a place for good country. Specially that bluesy soul filled country.
The story goes that they each went to Nashville as solo artists and weren’t having any luck…someone put them together and gold was struck…I had the pleasure of seeing them live in Vegas in a concert with Reba McEntire…it was amazing.
My favorite songs from Brooks & Dunn are That Ain’t No Way To Go; Whiskey Under the Bridge; Neon Moon; Hard Workin’ Man; She Used To Be Mine; Brand New Man; She’s Not the Cheatin’ Kind; If You See Him, If You See Her (with Reba McEntire); and of course Believe!
Do you get the meaning of the song? Kids don't see color until their taught it. I wish we could all be like that and see people as people and not as black or white or whatever color.
To say it’s a great soulful song and a great voice is an extreme understatement. There is the writing which is above superb on this song. But if you can’t feel this song down deep… you’re doing something wrong.
Had to come back to this to tell you you HAVE to react to Brooks and Dunn - Play Something Country. You will laugh out loud and keep smiling for a day at least.
This makes me bawl every time. So next do Boot Scooting Boogie. It's a fun one. Well apparently I have watched all your reactions. I've enjoyed them. Make some more.
I've put a request tally next to that one too. We're glad you enjoy them! Be sure to subscribe if you haven't already, you'll get notifications when new ones drop. We'll have a new one hit tomorrow.
Kix is the one in the hat. Ronny was singing. This is a true account. Ronnie actually is the boy in the song. An now you know why brooks an dunn won country duo of the year award 13 times in a row. There will never be another voice like ronnies... now that you heard this song. You need to check out one more by brooks and dunn. Its called Boot Scootin Boogie. This one will knock your socks off
Honestly I reas more country/Southern gospel than r&b in this. This song though is just phenomenal and so rich in story. Brooks and Dunn is GREAT - you should really check them out.
Ronnie Dunn was singing. Kix Brooks was on the guitar. There was a lot of gospel in there, too. It was autobiographical for Ronnie. And, FYI, Kix Brooks owns a vineyard. You should look up his brand and do a tasting. (I have no clue if he does bourbon.) Do 'My Maria', it's another song that shows off Ronnie's voice. One of my favs.
I still think you should do tennesse whiskey and beer never broke my heart but if you want to do another story song "in color" by Jamey Johnson is really good
You need to check out Brooks and Dunn Boot Scootin Boogy a fantastic driving tune but may get you a speeding ticket lol enjoy! FYI the lead singer in this song is Ronnie Dunn with Kix Brooks playing guitar in the background.
