Being born in 1965 I thank the lord daily on my knees for the great timing - for having had the incredible fortune of being a child of the 80s. What a hit!!!
@@trendypool - thanks, Trendy! We all gonna be dancing and floating around to the tunes of the 80s eternally on "the other side"... The 80s are and always will be the best time imho. Love and light from sunny Khao Lak in Thailand.
I was freshly divorced, quit my fulltime job, and went full time touring in bands. An extreme life event for me in 1982..... and I so remember this song playing in those lonely nights riding in tour buses and vans...and it's part of who I am now. Thank you Mr. Parson. 🙂
I was sitting in a music lounge in Seoul, Korea on May 18, 2016 and little did I know the woman of my dreams would come in and put this song on! We’ve been married 6 years now!
@@gormarx Alan Parsons made the absolute most of the technology of the time. It has nothing to do with the amount of musicians that play on a given song.
I remember the first time I herd this song I was a kid in the 80's, my old man had a job out in the middle of nowhere & asked if I wanted to come along & of course being a kid going to a remote location is always going to be an adventure. On that 20hr drive I remember lying on the floor for warmth in that old Ford 150 pickup trying to get some shut eye while gazing up into the night sky watching all the stars passing on by then this song came on the radio it was magic, good times good memories.
Heard this when I when I was at Norther Michigan.......Marquette, MI.......back in 1977.....will LOVE this FOREVER......now I am 64......Miss those days!

Uh, I was 16 when Tales... was released. Between it and I,Robot, Parsons was heavily acclaimed. The next 4 albums had a spotty reception and then Parsons faded out. I'm glad that people are rediscovering him but stating that he "never got the recognition he's deserved" is totally wrong.
I remember listening to him when he first came out. The unique name of Parsons, always stuck in my mind, totally different music that's real and practical. What we are all going through.. ✝🙏🙇
Under rated ? Alan Parsons have worked with Pink Floyd, Beatles and been engineer for some of their albums. Like Atom Heart Mother and Dark side of the moon. So hardly under rated. Not so known for the wide public perhaps.. but in music circles he is well known both as a mucisian and producer. Also Eric Wolfson created some magic when together with Parsons. The best albums are from the time they worked together as the "Alan Parsons Project"
I am now seventy years old, but the music made by Alan Parson Project is fantastic indeed I listen willingly when I drive around the enchanting cliffs of Sardinia, I find that the music of Alan Parson Project is a music to listen to while looking at the sea
@@markmitchell1471 Hi Mark, I am happy that you have been to Sardinia, I live on the island of Sant'Antioco not far from a NATO base, in any case I really like living here also because I was born there
This was the last song my dad listened to before he passed away.
my hands never opened and were twisted, but as a kid going mad on the beatles i opened my left hand playing guitar,so yer the beatles made my life worth living
A few artists, such as Alan Parsons and The Moody Blues, employ full orchestras because they add so much. We need to support our orchestras and the artists who employ them.
Don't think sorry's easily said Don't try turning tables instead You've taken lots of Chances before But I'm not gonna give anymore Don't ask me That's how it goes Cause part of me knows what you're thinkin' Don't say words you're gonna regret Don't let the fire rush to your head I've heard the accusation before And I ain't gonna take any more Believe me The sun in your Eyes Made some of the lies worth believing I am the eye in the sky Looking at you I can read your mind I am the maker of rules Dealing with fools I can cheat you blind And I don't need to see any more To know that I can read your mind, I can read your mind Don't leave false illusions behind Don't cry cause I ain't changing my mind So find another fool like before Cause I ain't gonna live anymore believing Some of the lies while all of the signs are deceiving I am the eye in the sky Looking at you I can read your mind am the eye in the sky Looking at you I can read your mind I am the maker of rules Dealing with fools I can cheat you blind And I don't need to see anymore To know that I can read your mind, (Looking at you) I can read your mind (Looking at you) I can read your mind (Looking at you) I can read your mind
This truly makes me proud to be a die-hard Chicago Bulls fan. I can picture my Bulls' highlights in the background while they're playing the whole time!!!
after all those years, i still AGAIN sit in my chair ... ROCKING AND SINGING OUT LOUD..... still LOVE this song as if no years have gone by !!! Brilliant ! thanx for this !
I can remember being 4 years old in 1984, laying on the livingroom floor staring at the cover of the album while my dad cranked the stereo so loud. I was totally fascinated with the album art, as simple as it was, & even though I had no clue what the eye of Horus meant lol. Anyway, 37 years later & still listening, & my own four kids as well.
We are listening some of the last alive generations. It is very rare to see now in 2021 bands with this quality of sound and production. In a world where everything rules over the money, it's rare to find a band with this quality playing alive, with same or even better sound than the studio version. Sadly, we are now renewing musicians in the same time as we are losing them. May we keep passing this to new generations, so they may know how good music truly is!
Greece was waiting just for the introduction of the bulls theme in the '90s! ...well not only Greece...but the whole WORLD! such memories, such enthusiasm! unforgettable moments, such a great time to remember!!! Allan...f***cking good Job!!!! you connected music with sports in a greater way then you thought!
What a song! I remember first listening to this song on a cassette recorder in 1983. It brings back so many wonderful memories of the best days in my life!
Eye In The Sky always reminds the summer of 1982 when my brother, his wife, his toddler son and myself driving in Ontario, Canada from St. Catharines to Toronto, Kingston, Ottawa and Montreal for holidays .... the song was played so many times on the radio that time ... this great song was the soundtrack of our holidays.
This MAN and his music is so very incredible so many years ago and yet so fresh to hear. As an Audio Engineer, some years ago I was able to meet Alan and pose several questions to him (Webster University event) and even remark on my questions, as interesting! Was a very approachable artist & Producer during his presentation. Not to mention what a physical giant in both size & stature he imposed to everyone there.. A day never forgotten.
this is the song that micheal jordan and the chicago bulls would always come out onto the court to... the song Sirius the intro song epic, here is a weird piece of info.... one of the members of the famous group The Platters, his son won a championship with the Chicago Bulls with Jordan then he retired.... and his step brother murdered him out at sea... there's videos about it online. tragic story. this song always reminds me of all that stuff cuz i was a big basketball fan and still am.
Havent heard this song since the 80s. And for some crazy reason this song just started playing all day in my head after waking up. Couldnt help get online & look it up. So glad people still listen, like & post music like this. Great taste! Brings back loads of memories. Music today makes no sense.
This more than a single song, Alan and another guy Patrick Cowley an Hign Energy Music composer have a lot of "little secret" to tell us but defenetivelly it is through their musc. Regards.
They tell us everthing they are doing to us, through movies and through their musicians. Only devil worshippers become famous to be worshippers by people.
I'd be honored if some APP & late 70s/early 80s fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performance of TIME PASSAGES by Al Stewart (a vintage Alan Parsons production) on my YT channel in tribute to one of the greatest songs of the era. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Thanks and RESPECT to the legends.
Amazing that he is actually singing too. He's primarily an engineer and producer. The nearest equivalent is having George Martin taking lead vocals on a Beatles' song.
❤ALAN PARSONS PROJECT FOR MANY MANNNNY YEARS ❤ ALWAYS RIGHTEOUSLY 🎉 AWESOMEST😊 THANKS FOR THE GREATNESS..TRULY DEAR FATHER GOD'S FINEST❤ AND I'M SO BLESSED TO HEAR 🙏 YOU
Alan Parsons is an exceptional man, he is a GENIUS of music and emotion, I find his voice simply wonderful, and I like very much to listen to these marvelous masterpieces
And I was surprised that he was the one singing. Normally it was Eric Woolfson doing the vocals. However, if this was recorded after 2009, it would have had to be someone else, as Woolfson had passed from cancer.
