Hmm. In reference to the "Delores Umbridge" comments, it might surprise our American friends to know that the only real unknowns in the Harry Potter movies were the leads. They were supported by a well seasoned and brilliant cast of English actors.
Considering many of Victoria's favourite friends who appeared in most of her plays and skits were in Harry Potter, I always thought it would have been lovely if she had been invited to appear in at least one of the movies as a painting or something.
I've never seen this before, such genius. The amount of Top Notch British Actors that Victoria Wood could summon at any given moment to appear in her parodies etc is just a testiment to how bloody good she was! RIP Victoria you were a Legend!
I don't really understand how someone can miss someone they didn't see in their daily life or even at all personally, especially when you can basically visit him every single day. I just did by watching this video I had never seen before. I get that it's sad when someone passes away, but actors don't usually have much impact on our day-to-day.
The amount of talent in this. She got anyone she wanted to work with her! Apparently if you ever got a note or email saying "Victoria Wood would like...", you didn't bother reading anymore, you just agreed to it. I know I would have.
@@StargazerNorth1 she actually does this in another sketch too! I just cant remember which one. found it, another victoria wood parody scrooge! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8gMbqcKZM0Y.html
Watching this video late at night because I can't sleep is certainly better than a slap in the La-las with an antique mangel! I can be assured soon, sleep will not escape the junket pot!
The third and last project in which Alan Rickman & Geraldine McEwan play together. She's so talented, I can't believe she has only received one award in her entire career (according to IMDB that is)!
Who's the stupid alien who DIDN'T LIKE this video????? I'm an ADDICT!!!! I could listen to Mr. Alan Sexy Rickman reciting the phonebook or watch a video of him just staring blankly out of the window for hours.... I definately need to stop doing this, every time I watch his videos or listen to his voice my heart beats soooooo damn fast that I'm surely having a failure one of these days...... But well, I'll have a happy depart from this world..... Awwwwwwhhhhh, Mr. Rickman..... I LOVE YOU.........
You know the man who just died suddenly could have been saved if he had a dose of Alan Rickman. He's like a box of Kittens only more attractive and far cuter! :3
It's too scary that so many viewers of this brilliant parody, those who didn't grow up with the humour of Victoria Wood's comic genius, can only visualise British actors such as Imelda Staunton in one role she played,ie Dolorus Umbridge. Rickman is seen as doing himself down, by the same crowd, because he was in Die Hard etc and in this he's romping around in high camp. America has never had the rep theatre system, so for one writer to have her own couterie of friends who'd drop everything at a moment's notice to appear in her "next big thing" is a step too far for them to understand. Tough titties! We get it and we love it. This will stand as a testament to the brilliance of all concerned. 💖
Richard E Grant had to turn down the role of the Sherriff on Nottingham in Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves before Rickman was offered it. So it's interesting to see them both in the same scene here.
LOL Alan's sidekick reminds me of the Beadle from the 2007 revial cast stage production of Sweeney Todd, not the movie (though sorta looks like Stan Shunpike) and come to think of it Alan looks like Judge Turpin, though younger. So we have Beadle Bamford and Judge Turpin :)
@DiamondzR4Eva100, she says, "That's better than a slap in the la-las with an antique mangle, is it not?" A mangle is a double roller device for squeezing water out of clothing. (Think of an old antique washing machine from 80 years ago, the heavy rollers--that's the mangle.) And yes, it would really hurt to get whacked by one of those, yes it would.
