@@petebagwell6666 It's more then that, the game is carefully crafted to make the player confused, tense and not knowing what to expect. So by the time this level comes up you get completely swung the other direction. From tense, confused and a bit scared to this.
"Nah, they can never top out the Ashtray Maze!" and then this! So awesome, so brilliant! Alan Wake 2, what a game! What a sequel! Sam Lake and his team never disappoints!
Remedy has reached filmmaker status with their games. They ooze style and you can see it in all their work. Reminds me of how certain directors have a consistent vibe across all their films. Bravo Sam Lake's beautifully twisted mind and the team at Remedy
You can tell Sam Lake had a time of his life in the final segment of this musical. Remedy and Sam Lake never fail to deliver when it comes to their set pieces!
I’ve been a gamer for 40+ years and this is the best thing I’ve ever experienced in a game. Thank you Sam Lake for sharing everything that goes on in your creative mind 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
They imagery of David Harewood and the band impatiently motioning you where to go if you take too long makes me laugh. Seeing Sam Lake in the dance sequence was both beautiful and hysterical.
This was an awe moment in gaming history, just like Arthur's last ride in RDR2. The layers to how deep this segment goes is astounding. As far as my interpretation, the dark presence further corrupting Alan's psyche, takes his life story, fears and hopes and reproduces it through an amazing musical sequence for him and us. As amazing as this part is, it's still the dark presence and that's incredibly twisted and somehow incredibly fun at the same time. It's not only scaring Alan but also us the gamers, as we're seeing "real life" images within a video game, as if the dark presence is peaking over the screen at us. Alan's gonna have to seriously rise up in his craft and upgrade his writing skills to Shakespearian levels in the next game if he's to come out of the never ending night. Absolute masterpiece and my personal GOTY.
Just imagine if in the VGA orchestra (if alan wake gets nominated) all of the sudden sam lake and ilka villi appears in stage and starts dancing, we'd all be happy for those moments
Sorry, Baldur's Gate, but my gamer heart this year belongs entirely to Remedy. Oh, it's not for nothing that I've been fond of this studio for two decades! They have never disappointed me, and this time they jumped over the top! _Lost in the never ending night_ _Diving deep to the surface_ _Oooaaaaahh_
Remedy always been creative with their ability to create a level design A whole chapter consists of simple decisions They dont need to throw a budget on one level to impress you "WE SING" called chapter is an incredible phenomenon of how you can impress a player using simple tools This game deserves GOTY as much as Baldur's gate 3 Spider man 2 on the other hand, doesnt
If you have any interest in playing the game for yourself, DO NOT WATCH THIS VIDEO. This was the highlight of the game for me and it's so special going into it blind. Trust me :)
Absolutely incredible! Remedy strikes again with these BANGER sequences that will never leave my mind ever. Rather a 12 hours game that'd stay in my mind forever than a 300 hour pile of forgettable nothing. We need more games like this!
This moment is a masterpiece, but the whole game is not: cheap useless sequel. Even Control made more sense for AW lore than THIS. Everything in AW2 was made to have AW3 where they surely (surprise!) would be resquing/reviving Alice.
