Sam openly talking about how the team wants to stay focused on the game rather than put time into a demo that will most likely change by the final product... Man it's so nice to hear someone in charge saying that. We need more like Sam and the Remedy team in the industry. Amazing work, and I hope to see you all when a presentable build of the game is ready😉
Seriously, I don’t need a demo presentation to know damn well that I’m buying this on day one no matter what. I would much rather the developers come out and tell us that they think it would be a waste of time to put something together ahead of time as opposed to simply getting the game together and showing us some snippets when they’re fully baked.
This is how every videogame companies should treat their audiences and fans. They don't want showcases every now and then, but Real updates on what is going on inside and what could we expect. Such a legend Sam Lake is and their teams to respect their fans. I expect no less than a masterpiece and can confirm they'll deliver. Can't wait to see lights ;)
Idea is so good and obvious for Remedy that I have a feeling we might actually see it in AW II :) "Write that down, WRITE THAT DOWN" - Sam Lake to his assistant right now probably
love this idea but since Alan Wake and Control are connected, wouldn't people be confused on why there's a character that looks like Dr. Darling from Control existing in Alan Wake 2? even if it's a different voice
@@chonkycat2867he’s also the physical actor for him. I loved the line in The Final Draft where he told Dr. Darling that he sounded familiar and Darling said Zane looked familiar
I am so unbelievably excited. Alan Wake being the first game to get me into the art of Games and Story, I can't wait to see what the team at Remedy brews up.
It makes me so much more happy to know that the guys at Remedy take their time to put out the best possible game they could make. Still hope that they will feed us with trailers as the time goes on up to releasing the game.
Oh, hey there, the most underrated Alan Wake/Control channel! I hope guys from Remedy notice you. It would be really cool if you did an interview or something with someone from the team!
Remedy always delivers, the logo and the name is a seal of quality. One of the very few companies that haven't lost their touch after all this time. I wish them the best for all future projects. I'll be there till the end!
What makes Remedy games stand out is that each of them has a soul of its own. The characters and the atmosphere is unforgettable, the writing, the script, the storytelling is just flawless. Maybe their games are not incredibly successful commercially but they are pure gems of gaming industry to me. And of course Sam Lake is a great guy with a great smile =)
I think after Alan wake 2 they definitely are getting recognized more because it was an awesome experience of a game like Alan wake silent hill and resident evil all rolled into one in the best possible way without being too much of one of those games
I hold a deep admiration for Sam Lake and the folks at Remedy because of their commitment to the art and story they want to tell. Because you're right, they're not smash hits commercially, and they could pivot to trend chasing and stuffing their games with live service micro-transaction garbage---literally selling the soul of Remedy---but they don't.
Played it for the First time ever this week. It was a hell of a time, and I followed it with Control. Remedy is an awesome group of people, pouring there unique & episodic storytelling style into their games, and I'm here for it. Felt great to see, Wake, Darling & Max together.
Alan Wake is one of my all-time favorite games and was my first introduction to Remedy. Since then every game of theirs has been a must buy. Can't wait for THE RETURN.
Such great casting for the look and sound of Alan. For the longest, I never knew they were different people who did both. Their look and voice go together so well in the game. Can't wait for the sequel!
What’s amazing to me is how Sam Ilkka and Matt all contribute to making Alan feel real. All 3 of their perspectives from different creative fields come together and there’s a real sense of it being a team effort. Sam obviously came up with Alan as the writer but there’s no ego in him, illkka and Matt are just as important and they offer each other material to work off which in turn fleshes Alan out. As a fan since 2010 I cannot wait to play the sequel.
Impossible to not completely light up seeing Sam Lake talk about his passions. No matter how completely dark your day might have been. Cannot wait to just absorb more of his writing into my being. Writing that has over the years playing games (1980s to now) become my favorite writing in video games ever. Nothing else really comes close anymore. With both Max Payne remasters and this on the horizon my Remedy-hype levels are back up at the all-time highs of waiting for Max Payne 1 again.
I still consider it to be one of the best storylines ever told. Gave me a motivation to start writing books myself. I will forever be thankful to Alan for that.
I recently picked up Control Ultimate edition and had no idea what to expect. The AWE DLC made me so happy seeing and hearing Alan again after all these years. Really excited to see where the story takes us.
Awesome update! Great concept art! Take as much time as you need, guys, make it perfect! We can wait a bit longer. Thank you so much for your amazing work! Happy anniversary, Alan Wake! 🎉
I just completed the game last night, and I gotta say, especially if you love all the meta /crossover stuff, this newest entry does not disappoint. Starts a lot slower, but plays like an episode of X files!! :D
Playing control, I always thought the voice of Darling sounded somehow familiar, but couldn't put my finger on it. Only by scrolling through lore pages, looking up news on AW 2 did I find this and realize that it was because the voice actor of Alan Wake, was also playing Darling. Goddamn, this is getting meta. Love the two franchises, and the fact that they are not only linked in game, but also in terms of actors is amazing. Can't wait for the next chapter from Remedy.
Yea! Darling in the game was an actual darling. That character was awesome, and I love how they tie everything together. Also AW2 has some amazing crossover material, I'll say that. Having just finished it the other day, I highly recommend it.
It all clicked for me when I found the hidden audio of Alan Wake within Control. After watching and listening to Darling for so long, I immediately heard it in his voice.
Im literally exploding with passion and affection and energy everytime I see these wonderful people and any mention of remedys work from an official source.
I was in ecstasy when i saw the trailer, been saying for 12 years now... that Alan Wake, is my favorite title, there is just something so genuine about it, something i haven´t had really since, it's really just one of these experiences that stays with you. i cannot wait for AW2.
I absolutely love the story in Alan Wake! After all these years it is still one of my favorites. Mikko Rautalahti once said that those scriptpages that you can find was very difficult to write but I’m so glad you added those because that was one of the things that stood out to me first time playing the game. It really adds to the atmosphere and they were so well written. Can’t wait to play Alan Wake 2! Also, it’s ok if making the TV show will take some time, I’m so happy it’s still happening!!
Thanks guys. Massive fan of Sam’s. Also love how remedy actually care about the fans and gamers by keeping regular updates and communication known. Rockstar take note!
The friendship between Ilkka & Matt is super goddamn wholesome, what a wildly unique position they're in as actors. So excited for one of my favourite dev teams to tackle my favourite genre and equally as excited at the prospect of them returning to Max Payne, it's a great time to be a Remedy fan.
@@BON3SMcCOY Ilkka is the physical actor for Alan Wake being the face-model, mo-cap actor, and live-action actor for Alan. Matt is the voice actor, he voices everything for Alan, even dubs over Ilkka in any live-action segments with Alan.
Games like BG3 and AW2 are works of love. They are done not by following some sales chart but passionate peoples ideals. They are becoming rare each year. We were lucky to be blessed by two in 2023. I hope you guys never stop making games that people love playing.
I love the excitement on display from everyone on screen and everyone here in the community! Do what you need to do to make what you want to make Remedy Crew! I have such such fond memories of playing the original in 2010 and I've been enjoying my time in the remaster the last few days! Keep it up team!
I'm playing AW2 right now and it's a fascinating, mind bending experience. It's a showcase not only for Remedy's in-house game engine, but also Remedy's storytelling prowess. It's a very impressive, truly next-gen feeling artistic experience.
Can't believe it's finally coming and announced it's so good to hear after years of hoping and knowing Sam wanted this project to happen. Good luck Remedy, you're the best!
Remedy's passion never fails to inspire.. Wishing the team great trails for all their developments 💜 I'll be staying in the light for all the upcoming news.
simply heartwarming. it is nice to see the band back together after so long! happy anniversary to all the folks who made the original game and its sequel possible! p.s. the phone booth concept art is something absolutely gripping! extremely hyped and patient. do your best!
I’m convinced we’re getting Noir York City from Max Payne 2. John Mirra, who was a doppelgänger of the protagonist, would contact him through pay phones as he attempted to navigate Noir York City. Mirra was pretending to be John, after having kidnapped John’s girlfriend and starting a serial killing spree using his face. The landscape was said to shift and change with every murder Mirra committed, making it a nightmare for the protagonist to maneuver through with any semblance of direction. Sounds absolutely perfect for something like The Dark Place, a metaphysical space that can be altered through the act of creation. Especially taking into account that Alan Wake wrote a book called ‘Return to Sender’, which is exactly what the Address Unknown marathon is called in Max Payne 2 that details John Mirra’s antics in Noir York. 👀😱
@@xCarnageV1 damn that actually sounds somewhat interesting, the only issue is that Remedy is not in possession of the rights to Max Payne universe. Although I suppose something like this may happen because of Alex Casey books and this guy is basically Max Payne. Well, we'll have to just wait and see!
@@Dub4Life Remedy just entered into an agreement with Rockstar to do full remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 for next-gen consoles using the Northlight Engine, the same engine used for Control and Alan Wake 2. There is a very real possibility that Remedy will work new lore into those remakes that can permanently tie it back into the established Remedyverse, even if it’s only in vague ways. They can easily explain Max Payne’s world as a reality separate from Alan’s, one that he unknowingly was able to see in visions disguised as inspiration. These visions led him to create Alex Casey as a character for his books. The only catch is that Control confirmed Alex Casey is a real person, he exists, AND he’s looking for Alan. Dylan says of one of his dreams, ‘in one world, there was a writer who wrote a story about a cop. In another world, the cop was real.’ That implies that Alex Casey is either from another reality entirely, or that Alex Casey is a creation of Alan’s, inspired by the reality of Max Payne. But Control also confirmed that Alan can’t effectively ‘create’ people, he can only use things already tethered to our reality and force them into outcomes that he (or the story) finds desirable. So that makes me wonder if Alex Casey effectively IS Max Payne, pulled from his world and awakening as someone entirely different, and yet the same. Sorry for the unhinged rant, this sequel just has me unbelievably excited, lol.
@@xCarnageV1 dunno if it'd be necessary or even suitable to have Max connected to the Remedy universe, although your thoughts really make it sound exciting. I appreciate it, man. And if Casey is the real Max that would be just sad. Like, the man suffered enough, found his happy end after all, and then this, lol. Don't be sorry about anything, I probably cannot deliver the same amount of words in my replies, but I'm always up for sweet analysis or interesting thoughts. Same goes for me about excitement, this game is literally my most awaited one. The fans need to stick together, after all.
Played through Alan Wake when I was going through a bad breakup back in 2010. I got really invested in the story and I have consumed every hint and breadcrumb Remedy has put in their games since. I am so excited, I can’t wait 😀
I have never played anything more original than Alan Wake. I was sad, bitter, and upset like a child on Christmas who did not get the present that he expected when I saw that video years ago with Sam Lake saying the next game in development was not Alan Wake 2. However, now I understand how much they wanted to make the second game, and I am forever grateful that they held true to this amazing world of Alan Wake. I know Alan Wake 2 is going to be just AMAZING with today's graphical development and Remedy's talented team. Kiitos (thank you) for doing this Remedy!
Nothing brings me more joy then a team devoting time into a game that will be quality and NOT RUSHED, I hope I speak for everyone when I say, take your time!
With the countless times I've finished Max Payne and subsequently Alan Wake I am just so eager to see what Remedy releases no matter what it is. I absolutely love the literary and substantive story telling of Remedy as it continues to evolve. They're the best immersive gaming experiences. Here's hoping TV's Alan Wake makes us laugh, cry and hide under the sheets.
I remember being so salty back in 2012/13 after beating Alan Wake because I couldn't find anything online about them making a sequel and now it's finally happening a real dream come true.
The first Alan Wake is one of my favorite game of all time, and I am sooooo happy that Alan Wake 2 has not only been confirmed but that the team behind it has such passion for the project! Please take all the time you need to make sure it will be polished.
I just completed my first playthrough of Alan Wake 2, and I gotta say, the game starts off a little different, but DAMN what a story! You can definitely see the time between games was worth it, they delivered on every aspect.
This game turned out BETTER than i ever hoped for after waiting 13 years since i played the Alan Wake 1 when it came out and loved it!! Thanks for pushing the boundaries and being one of the most original and creative studios of all time in gaming! I thank you all at Remedy! ❤
I am so excited this game is everything Alan wake is everything to me I was in tears while watching this I loved watching these 3 of them talking and spending time together there Amazing got great chemistry Remedy you're amazing I love you
Yesterday i;ve played trough the musical episode in AW2, till Today i'm blown away. I though that the fight on a big stage in AW1 was Epic but Brothers&Sisters, Old Gods of Asgard did it again. Remedy you have nailed it. This is most epic thing i'have ever seen in video game, and i'm active player since 1990. Can't get it out of my head. Poets of the Fall are unbelievable, they deserve a no1 prize for that. And road for the Best Game Of The Year for AW2 is on !. Thank you for bringing us that awesome title. Great Work Guys !
I’m SOOOOOOO EXCITED about Switch version would coming out in the near future! Taking this game and play it every time everywhere was my wishful dream for years! And i’m so happy to see you guys still working on this title, and team members of yours also enjoying this adventure of creating Alan Wake series! Just take my money!
Best thing about the Remedy Developers that they create such optimized games like Control with amazing graphics and story that can easily run at 60fps in an non gaming ultrabook laptops.
So glad I meet Alan Wake on my old and trusty Xbox 360 Elite back in the day. I treasure the game in my heart. Hoping to get a hard copy of Alan Wake Remastered soon. And getting ready for Alan Wake 2 in the future.
the 2 actors playing allan ie ikka villi and mathew poretta are 2 differnt people but they are joined as allan wake you guys the voice and the movement so good togther = 1 kick ass character
It’s incredible how I’m still obsessed with a game I played more than 10 years ago, and all of this time I was still hopeful that the sequel would actually come out. To this day Alan Wake is still my favorite game. I’m very excited, I just hope the sequel is as amazing as the first one.
I loved the first Alan wake, it reminds me alot of how The Evil Within starts out kinda slow and rough until you get the hang of it and you become a beast by the end. If the sequel is anything how The Evil Within evolved from 1 to 2 then I can't wait to see what Remedy brings to the table. In the meantime I still need to pass quantum break and Control
Control definitely heavily ties in to Alan Wake (and possibly QB) definitely worth playing through both games ahead of AW2, if only because Jesse Faden and Alan Wake are super tied into each others stories. I don't want to spoil things but do yourself a favour and at least play Control, especially if you are a fan of Alan Wake.
I'm here Just to say thanks to sam lake for going against the people who said to remove from the game, the part with poets of the fall in Allan's wake part, with the musical in giant screens!!! It was the best part/ the most fan and enjoyable part and also very very unique, i haven't seen again something like this in any other game, i loved it!! Thanx again Sam for not letting them remove that part and thanx poets of the fall for that great song!!!!! Its just amazing and love the electric guitar in it!!!! and also the other one with saga, the summoning was great too!!! Thumbs-up!!!!! 👍👍👍
Matthew Porretta has - along with Jennifer Hale, David Hayter, Nolan North, Jane Perry, Troy Baker and James McCaffrey - one of my all-time favorite voices! He's an insanely good fit for Alan Wake. I also loved his character in Control. 🤩
Спасибо вам большое ребята, за Алана Вейка и игру про него. Прошел её раз 5 или больше)) С нетерпением жду второй части, уверен, это будет такой же шедевр как и первая игра!
