She's great 😊 I love the sometimes uneven syncopation in her lyrics that adds a unique layer of interest. From the unexpected rhythm/meter, I get the sense she writes her lyrics first, and then melody comes later.

On her first album or two she was just know as Alanis, her music was a different genre for sure, not sure if it would be called hip hop or what but then she found her groove on the Jagged Little Pill album and marketed as Alanis Morissette.
I'm not a great fan of Alanis Morrisette but I listened several songs of her and they are so good such as Ironic, Hand in my pocket, You oughta know , Thank you and Head over feet. I've recently seen a version of hand in my pocket with Kelly Clarkson , the video is available on RU-vid. She's a little bohemian chill out in her image and clothing. The first 2 albums from Alanis (after her teen age career) were GREAT ALBUMS... but after this, for some reason, she started to go downhill. Sorry to say that because ,.. well... these albums are magic.
