@@erikkoski6129 I had this conversation yesterday. Things have changed so much that CHR radio is not playing her new music. Rock is nearly non existent on mainstream radio. Ironically, to get radio airplay, she would have to return to dance pop. I haven't heard any new Alanis songs outside of the Adult Contemporary radio format for a long time.
@@suavehinrg all of my favorites are like that too Avril Lavigne one of my favorites doesn't get played either the whole fact is if you're not singing about drugs or have the same words repeat you won't get played but I'm my opinion I like it better when it's not played on the radio because then it's not incredibly popular and it's much more artistic
This song is so awesome. The music supervisors for Problem Child 2 must have been in Canada at one time, or they heard it on the radio in the US, and thought it would be perfect for the Pizzariffic scene. It was.
This is too bizarre... Who wolud've thought Alanis and Matt LE Blnc shared some kiss (on screen)? And that Alanis was once a happy, upbeat, careless woman, into dance pop? No way.
Man, if this was released in the US I would have bought this in a heartbeat. I loved this kind of pop music especially dance oriented. I really should have copped "Jagged Little Pill" like I wanted to so long ago.
This was a great video and a great song! I was a bit shocked to see her Jagged Little Pill album come out when it did because I was like "She's all rock now?" I think for those of us who didn't know of this side of Alanis back then won't really appreciate how her style has changed with the times...it's great to reminisce! I've been looking for old stuff from her and I'm glad I found it here.
LOL it's joey from friends!!! I like seeing how alanis started. Some artists start off doing a certain style just to get their foot in the door, then once they're in they do whatever they want. Props for Alanis!

Wow, I was ooking for these old vids from the late 80's. I had heard that she was like a pop queen. A little bit of Taylor Dayne, Tiffany and Debbie Gibson all rolled in to one! However, she shead her pop icon immage, I guess the true singer-songwriter would eventually emerge. In any case Alanis performed these songs with class and style to! Great post, thanks!
Fast forward to a few years later (yes, I did that on purpose) and both Alanis and Matt went on to become megastars that defined the 1990’s and early 2000’s.
Didn't know Alanis started as more of a pop singer. She is very talented though and very beautiful. I'm glad she transitioned to more of an alternative folk singer.
I was locked up at St. Louis Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital hooked up to a Echocardiogram while this Alanis music video was made. I was only 7 at the time.
I was a huge fan of Alanis and missed her when she was gone for like 3 years. Then this Alanis Morisette came out and I was like, what happened to Alanis? A friend said that Alanis Morisette was Alanis. I was like no, Alanis Morisette is too depressing... she's not Alanis. Alanis was upbeat and happy. I liked Alanis. Alanis Morisette is depressing and jaded... rightfully so, but I have enough depression in my life... I need to listen to happy music, not depressing music! Great vocals either way!

Hmmm, I actually really like this song :P Didn't think I would because her earlier stuff is really pop/dancey and synthesised. But I'm glad I gave it a listen. Plus it's awesome that Matt Le Blanc is in this video too :P
MegaJess83 You Outta Know was in 1995, and she only met Ryan in 2002. Dave Coulier (of Full House) has stated that it was about him. And in a How I Met Your Mother episode about Robin Sparkles, she writes a song that’s angry like You Outta Know, and Coulier is in the episode joking about “why does everyone always assume it’s me?” But I like the idea of it being Matt a lot better.
Alanis was known as the Paula Abdul of Canada at the time of her 3 releases. She sold a decent amount of copies back then , but found no air play in the USA. I remember just around the time in the JLP came out I was in the states and being asked about her previous music... I did a little 'Too Hot'' for the girls and they ate it up!
