@@Ryu5K My brother got to know a bunch of guys working as a civilian there. I met some of them and a few came out to our cabin for a hunt. We had a great time. I was an avionics tech on P3s in the early 70s. I’ve been here since 79.
The shortest sunshine day is over 5 hours in Anchorage. We also have long dawn and dusk times because the angle the sun rises and sets. I’ve lived here over 40 years and have camped at 35 below.
Ignorance on the subject makes you look like an ass Eric!....check more recent events: when Hurricane Maria destroyed Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, emergency help was flown by C17 and C5 in matter of hours and days... of course the Air Force and other branches of the service don’t spend millions bragging about it. Afghanistan and Iraq? Yeah, they flew in a lot of military equipment to support the ground troops... that’s their primary mission! But did you know they also evacuated wounded soldiers and civilians to the U.S. for treatment? The also flew back thousand flag covered- caskets... Ask any combat wounded veteran how they were treated in their return flight in a C17 Medivac. That’s Ok; thousands flown in a C17 know and will gladly give you an education...
Michael Craig .... Wow! Michael, let me help you a bit.... the C in C17 stands for Cargo... 🤪. B-52, B-2, and B-1 carry the bombs... and yes they do a great job at sending those Taliban and Isis fanatics BACK to Hell!. Ignorance is the real Devil consuming you Michael.
